NFS2015 is my favourite since Ghost. I havent played this one yet and my only complaint with 2015 was that there was not enough vehicles. I feel like this one takes the good from payback and good from 2015 and joins them together in their own original mix and now we have Heat.
Great review. 100% agree with your point about the soundtrack, the night racing is crying out for some decent synthwave! Thankfully the PS4 Spotify app still makes that possible for me.
Yeah that was definitely one of the worst things about 2015! It definitely doesn't happen near as much or near as bad in Heat but I do still sometimes notice the cars getting a mind of their own
I've been playing heat for a bit (currently REP level 26), and the one thing that bugs me is the drifting. Every single corner I spin out into a wall and I have looked up tutorial after tutorial to no avail. The racing is fine once you live tune so it doesn't drift every turn. Car damage needs some reworking IMO. Other than that it is great. Best customization in a long time. Cool to see Ferrari back but I don't really like Ferrari so not a big deal to me. Did you ever run into Drag racing? There are drag parts but I have yet to find drag racing.
@Toxic Potato what pisses me off the most is that he downplayed the repetition of GRID but then had the nerve to bash NFS Heat saying it's repetitive. I bought GRID based on his review what a scam it was

None are there yet though, till then....I cri
Not being rude but you do know forza is a arcade racer. It's just a arcade racer with up to date handling/physics. Were need for speeds handling/physics, is well outdated to say the least.
@Toxic Potato Actually it is true, forza is a arcade racer. You can just jump in and throw the car. Fine tuning not needed. Literally put cars to gather in 5 min and place 1st in an online adventure. Don't know why some of you think is a sim. Just because you actually have to use a bit skill and actually tune a car does not make it a sim. Now if it had handing like real sim like assetto corsa. Yes forza would be a sim but it doesn't. Forza doesn't have realistic physics like a sim.
@Toxic Potato Yes they are all arcade racers. No they are not all the same lol but they are all arcade racers lol Some just have better more up to date handling/physics like grid or wreckfest. Just because something has good handling/physics model does not make it a sim.
@Toxic Potato Go out play some real sim racing games. You'll want a wheel, unlike forza. Then tell forza isn't a arcade racer. I don't personally now anyone who actually thinks forza is a sim. Even the friends that only play arcade racers. Hell even here, people consider forza an arcade. That's why it's used as a reference/comparison to other arcade racers lol
No Multiplayer Lobbies and no true Multiplayer are really making me want to wait for Black Friday, I have already seen this listed for $35. I have the itch to play this weekend but the crazy hard cops and no real MP are making me not want to pay full price.
This game is soooo fun but honestly i wanted way more cars. Playing this with mods is insane. The amount of customization and being able to make a super car look like a crazy ricer amalgamation. They probably wont update this game with customizations or something other so im relying on modders to mod the game to make it more fun.
I’m a little late, but please take the time to read this. While I agree with most of what you’ve said, there is one thing that sticks out in your review that must be put to rest: “Outrun Aesthetic” and NFS Heat’s failure to adhere to the 80’s techno visual styles and music. You are entirely incorrect. 1. Outrun, in the case of NFS Heat, is a reference to the PvP mode called Outrun where you go head to head with another racer in free-roam within NFS Underground 2 and has nothing to do with the retro 80’s style you speak of. Developers of Need for Speed have always paid homage to facets of previous titles as fan service and continuation of the heritage. 2. The visual style is an embellished and exaggerated analog to Miami’s neon lights, rich urban art culture, and night life. This is also why the game is called heat. It’s both a reference to the conflict between the cops and racers and a reference, more importantly, to the city of Miami itself - Miami Heat - which coincidentally is also the name of their basketball team. Knowing this, NFS Heat’s art direction is actually very well executed and encompasses the look and feel of Miami really effectively. 3. The music... Again, this is another area where they have done really well. The music choices coincide with the overall Miami vibe. It’s Latin-centric hip-hop and EDM tunes. The music direction’s only flaw is the lack of titles included in the game and the repetitiveness of the music playlist. 4. The car choices have nothing to do with trying to accommodate 80’s retro. The cars are well known auto/gear head enthusiast hero vehicles - classics, if you will. All in all, the direction of the game is actually very cohesive and well thought out if you can look past your own presumptions. Please be cautious of your personal biases before criticizing others’ works. That’s all. Good review otherwise.
I haven't played a Need for Speed game since Carbon and prostreet. I do play GTA 5 though. Safe to assume it's alot like that? Can't remember NFS handling
you should review carbon, i still view it as a game that COULD have been incredible and that i want to like, but a few things about it kind of ruin it for me
What's wrong with arcade style handling? Need for Speed always had arcade style handling. It was never a sim and should never be a sim. It's in the name, homie. Need for Speed. It's about going fast and driving dumb.
4:40 - 5:25 out of touch indeed sir, the music suckssssssssss i only enjoyed 7 songs out the whole 58 playlist atleast it's not worse than payback. I feel like 2015 did an exceptional job with the playlist, hell i still listen to some of the songs from 2015 when im driving my car.

I agree with your review except the part with the music. Synthwave is not something you play while driving in a high octane arcade racing game. It would put racers to sleep. Its just your taste in music and frankly thoughts like that should be kept out of reviews. The games sound track is terrible tho but Synthwave music does not fit it any more than the existing track list.
Dude...it's a game review...His opinion of the game. Henceforth, his personal tastes and opinions will be in the video. Lol obviously it's his "taste of music". Also... synthwave would be totally perfect for this video. Duh. Oh shit...did I just include my personal opinion on the internet?!
Josette Eliza Hooker yes it’s exactly your taste. People have different music tastes. He says that synth wave would be better as we can all agree that the sound track isn’t the best. But synth wave does not make it better for everyone or even the majority of people playing this game. The point was for the sound track to be as diverse as possible but it failed. The issue is that he is saying synth wave is the remedy to that which is also just as wrong. Music is subjective so no particular genre is better than the other but suggesting synth wave is the best they could have done is just as wrong as the current soundtrack
Sadly I don't believe there's any way to add/swap in music to the game, I would kill for a mod though that let that happen!! Being able to adjust your custom playlist for night or day would be rad.
I played the game for 2 hours since I had a 10 hour trial from Origin Access. It may be better than the last Need for Speed games, but apart from engine sound tuning and underglow, there is literally nothing about this game that would make me want to spend time in it over playing Forza or even The Crew.
I traded my Forza horizon 4 in for this and I say this no regrets at all, after playing this I can't play Forza horizon 4 Again, it's so shit in sounds and the seasons and the customisations, the added bonus of this game is the cops during the day are much more lenient and you have unlimited repairs so you can have a cop chase all day long, just like in NFS MW and undercover, the crew 2 is just a big empty world with shitty physics, they really weird physics in that game I traded that in 2 days of getting it.
Jaylog halladayyyyyy Let your children pay Riders on the storm Something something something ...there's a killer on the road... Brain is squirming like a toad.
Give me your playlist please and thankyou hand it over and noone gets hurt 🔫😷 edit: after hearing your conclusion and as far as I have played it's just making me more excited to see Unbound, style being the big key word here and from what I've seen of Unbound so far it's dripping in style so I'm drooling to see if it carries into the game proper or it's just blown up for marketing fluff, if it can stick to the vibe properly and play as good as Heat then I think it could be just what I've wanted 🤞
Yes big car list but some car are the same with different version. Dont get me wrong i love heat but wish all the car are unique not same car with different version
I'm sorry but the whole vaporwave aesthetic was community imagination. Purple and pink represent a lot more than just vaporwave and outrun, they are also colors common in neon lighting and are also commonly associated with Miami (the place Palm City is based on). I for one don't see any kind of vaporwave aesthetic what so ever and a bunch of purple and pink graffiti doesn't exactly scream vaporwave to me. And saying "a lot" of the car choices lean on this aesthetic is a little dumb too when there are only really 2 cars out of the entire 127 which could theoretically lean on a vaporwave aesthetic. The majority of those 127 cars are modern cars. Also I disagree with your evaluation that the soundtrack doesn't fit this game. I may not be a fan of the day soundtrack or the race soundtracks, but i love the night time free roam soundtrack and it fits the game amazingly well. Nothing beats flying at 200 mph with Trap music blasting on your way to your next race. 5 minutes in and I'm already rolling my eyes at you and this community for reaching so far for something that is maybe referenced once or twice and making it seem like it was what the whole game was meant to be about. EDIT: to me it seems like you're the one who's out of touch, yeah the story is out of touch I agree, but the soundtrack is actually quite in touch and calling it out of touch just seems like a shitty cop out because you personally don't like it. A game soundtrack which features some of the most popular music artists out right now is not out of touch. I say this as a 19 year old who is quite in touch with what us "youths" like.
Small wonder the player can't "get a good feel of the car" when the game decides to shove your chase cam view of it to the edge of the screen the moment you lose traction around a turn. Driving in NFS since 2015 feels like I'm actively fighting against the game while it tries to drive the car for me. Designed by committee indeed.
@@deanmurphy8154 Yeah like this people in coments saying that don't even know that you can change camera in this game and racing games overall, and it's third game featuring that. It's sometimes weird to think about for me.

Need for speed heat needs infinite repair in the settings so you can go as long as you want because in the daytime its boring as fuck no damn cap💯
@@jimym__ mmmm I see where your coming from but in 2015 thats the reason why people always talk about it still because there was no health and there were infinite cops. You wouldn't have to worry about not having any repairs left and then all that time you just put in got shot down because you are getting rubber band by the cops. Idk either way the game can get boring because it will get repetitive with or without health.... But I still love the the cops in this game i just hate the health part it always makes me close app just to open it back up 😂

HokiHoshi synthwave would have been a amazing fit for need for speed heat I love synthwave is very popular but I don’t think game developers know that.
@@Toniolmclain19 i wouldn't call synthwave extremely popular.
Daniel Hillegus what would you call it retrowave ?
Can we just stop with the foreplay and remake NFSU2? Update the cars, leave out any that cost 100K+ and expand the map.
Last game I bought was need for speed most wanted lmao after that I didn’t buy no other need for speed till heat , came out and I’m actually enjoying it and grinding it hopefully they do go the right direction 🔥🔥
NFS2015 is my favourite since Ghost. I havent played this one yet and my only complaint with 2015 was that there was not enough vehicles. I feel like this one takes the good from payback and good from 2015 and joins them together in their own original mix and now we have Heat.
Solid review!
man I love the songs and outfits ngl haha
Been burned so bad in the past but now im reconsidering and may buy Need for Speed Heat
I want Black Box's HP2 with online and its oldschool handling and track design.
Can you redo races and events you already completed and get credits/rep again ?
Wikus Van Dyk yeah
Yes you can repeat races to make money
Need Help How to get the Spoiler from Thumbnail?????
I have no problems with the playlist at all. And they're intentions were for more of the arcade style. Driving in HEAT is considerably better
How do you switch like that? 2:12
It's an option in your map screen. You can only use it to go from day to night, not vice versa.
Great review. 100% agree with your point about the soundtrack, the night racing is crying out for some decent synthwave! Thankfully the PS4 Spotify app still makes that possible for me.
The music is perfectly fine... it’s actually bearable compared to the previous 2 games that i had to cut off because of how cringe they were.
Do cars still turn themselves, or try to auto correct themselves during turns, straights, mid drift....? Like in 2015?
Yeah that was definitely one of the worst things about 2015! It definitely doesn't happen near as much or near as bad in Heat but I do still sometimes notice the cars getting a mind of their own
The soundtrack was an absolute mess. And the ending of the story was the most abrupt and lacking ending since Kane and Lynch 2. The rest is awesome
If this game has a synth wave playlist I’d be livid
I kinda like synthwave tho
SiestaFace yeah I do too
Finally a proper review! Did you watch WorthABuy's review? Good Lord...
@Toxic Potato what pisses me off the most is that he downplayed the repetition of GRID but then had the nerve to bash NFS Heat saying it's repetitive.
I bought GRID based on his review what a scam it was
This games you FEEL like youre goku.
How's the monetization?
Surprisingly absent from the game so far!
@@HokiHoshi let's see if it's yet another 'patch it in' scheme...
I've player it since worldwide launch, I LOVE IT, AND I HATE NFS SINCE CARBON! PLAY IT YA'LL!
In other news, toothpaste is amazing.
agreed.
It’ll be on a good sale Black Friday so I’ll probably give it a shot then
Nfs underground 2 was the best control manual wide and handling wise these cars never kick out unless you make them
WE NEED MORE MUSIC... I SWEAR I HEARD THE SAME SONG THREE TIMES IN ONE MINUTE... and yes i know they have like two songs in the game ugh (I'm over exaggerating on purpose) but seriously though at least have like i don't 75 songs... Let me correct that 75 GOOD SONGS👏
Thanks for the review, gave it a like because of your effort. I hate arcade racing games though. As someone else said, give us NFS Customization and Forza handling. Many are waiting for jesus to come down from the sky, but im waiting for that dream car game. NFS is half of that with the best customization and forza is much closer to the dream. None are there yet though, till then....I cri
Not being rude but you do know forza is a arcade racer. It's just a arcade racer with up to date handling/physics. Were need for speeds handling/physics, is well outdated to say the least.
@@metalneck9825 forza did a Great job
I will buy it when it goes down to 20 dollars
All heat needs is the level of customization that underground2 had!
it says ur channel is down?
I put those same exact rims on my R34 too
There's actually one song in the game that's retrowave, and it's otro lugar by mnkybsnss
Definitely
The classic muscle cars need the bug catcher hood scoops
Waar
This game is soooo fun but honestly i wanted way more cars. Playing this with mods is insane. The amount of customization and being able to make a super car look like a crazy ricer amalgamation. They probably wont update this game with customizations or something other so im relying on modders to mod the game to make it more fun.
you did a very good job. thank you. :)
Can't remember NFS handling
you should review carbon, i still view it as a game that COULD have been incredible and that i want to like, but a few things about it kind of ruin it for me
I hate how Midnight Club still had a better decal editor
Good vid. How hard can it be to just make a re-make? I feel like i just wanna knock on Ghost Games door and show them hows it done xd
What's wrong with arcade style handling? Need for Speed always had arcade style handling. It was never a sim and should never be a sim. It's in the name, homie. Need for Speed. It's about going fast and driving dumb.
I miss the hell out of NFSU2.
How exactly is it out of touch? It has some of the most popular artists out rn. I wouldn't call that "out of touch"
@@xDTHx ok boomer
@@jorgecabrera7088 it appears you don't actually know what boomer means.

You can't call something out of touch when you yourself is out of touch.
Game seems great with a few things that need to be addressed. Chiefly the damage model is ridiculous cops take no damage while you take a ton.
From the gameplay I've seen you're right
@@lamarkuscalvert6773 I bought the game and I liked it however the cops are way too hard and they don't take any damage whereas you take a lot
@@mattmanley7118 Hopefully they will balance it out in an update and add exotic cop cars it should be harder as the levels go up but I still think that it should be balanced for you to take damage and the cops take none at all is not cool
@@lamarkuscalvert6773 the other thing I don't like is how they're purposely locked some of the most coveted cars behind completing the activities some of which are ridiculous for example the 488 pista you must complete all activities and you must 3 * all of them
@@mattmanley7118 that's crazy they need to fix a lot of things in the game How are the physics in your opinion
There are a lot of synthwave artists with very fitting music, like Dance with the dead or d.notive. ruclips.net/video/NjsemNhze7U/видео.html
Imagine they release Underground 3
Can you add your own music to it? I will be adding the most wanted list, nice mix of different styles of music.
I don't really agree about the soundtrack. It doesn't fit an 80's aesthetic, but it definitely fits modern day Miami.
Same here, It's a really hard hitting and fast paced playlist which suits the nature of the game perfectly
Just mute the soundtrack, and put on some outrun
Jaylog halladayyyyyy
Let your children pay
Riders on the storm
Something something something
...there's a killer on the road...
Brain is squirming like a toad.
Give me your playlist please and thankyou
hand it over and noone gets hurt 🔫😷
edit: after hearing your conclusion and as far as I have played it's just making me more excited to see Unbound, style being the big key word here and from what I've seen of Unbound so far it's dripping in style so I'm drooling to see if it carries into the game proper or it's just blown up for marketing fluff, if it can stick to the vibe properly and play as good as Heat then I think it could be just what I've wanted 🤞
NFS UNDERGROUND 2 has the best sound track EVER. I downloaded the iso file and still enjoyed nfs underground 2
100%. I listened to NFSU2's soundtrack a lot while writing this review and it's just so good.
@@HokiHoshi I illegally downloaded nfs underground 2 iso file on my PC and I enjoy so much

Yes big car list but some car are the same with different version. Dont get me wrong i love heat but wish all the car are unique not same car with different version
I haven't played an nfs game in 6 years. This may be the one that I play.
Joshua Velasquez ok
I will just put on the Need for Speed Most Wanted Soundtrack while playing, instead of hearing the OST.
Yeah the garage music is the best out of them all
I havent played NFS in 13 yrs... looks like the prodigal son is about to come home!
Thx
Please go to japan after this ghost game
I hate how painfully slow every car is. Even after upgrades they are still slow
I have no problem with the handling. I hitting corners perfectly like it’s nothing.
You do realise that in nfs 2015 you could turn Off the "cinematic camera" so that the view didn't change during drifts and cornering lol
@@deanmurphy8154 Yeah like this people in coments saying that don't even know that you can change camera in this game and racing games overall, and it's third game featuring that. It's sometimes weird to think about for me.
Im mad that these pursuits can go on forever, once you have zero repairs left you have no choice but to go to the garage or die the its over back to zero.... BOOOORRRRRIIIIINNNGGGAAA. Need for speed heat needs infinite repair in the settings so you can go as long as you want because in the daytime its boring as fuck no damn cap💯
King Leeq it’s not that hard especially once you get better cars and if you had infinite repairs that would be so boring cause it’s to op
But I still love the the cops in this game i just hate the health part it always makes me close app just to open it back up 😂
Can't toy with the heat cops like the old most wanted cops. They are RUTHLESS. Still haven't been busted.
