I finally found a way to describe my style - edgy-classy. (Can’t stand the kardashian/ Jenner’s though, don’t care for that example). Edgy, trendy, etc alone were not speaking to me cause they’re usually too casual or rebellious for adult and professional life. I was preppy for work and classically or edgy off work but now I know how to mix both. Thx!
hey Lauren, can you show us how to compartmentalize our wardrobe in to sections by occasions for e.g a romantic section, a business section, a edgy section, a classy chic section etc?
QueenSally mine too, being edgy is not about brands, in fact most edgy people I know are anti brands. Half of the clothes she picked would not be considered edgy in the UK, at least in my experience. You can get an edgy look with simple classic basics like black jeans and a T-shirt but dress it up with buckled or studded accessories. Like maybe a buckled boot or studded jacket or vice versa. You could get a classic chunky chain in like a silver or gun metal. Belts are cool to play with too. Even if you buy 1 awesome jacket and couple of accessories you can pull it off. I’ve bought basic flats and sewn my own studs on!
I know this video is old but do you think you can do a series like this, but maybe referring to office attire? I’m having a hard time feeling comfortable in office clothing at my new job, and need to find a style that fits me!
Hi Lauren. My style is boho. However, as I'm getting older I would like to upgrade my style to be more classic. Not sure if edgy is something that would look good on me, but I certainly like it. However, I've also heard that as women get more candles they need to be less edgy. Also, not to wear leather as in skirts, dresses, pants, vests and jackets. What do you think?
In my opinion, it’s about how you wear it, I think most of the style tips she gave look good on anyone from 20s to 60s. Maybe even older. All depends on how you wear it.
Ok I think I'm edgy classic but not exactly in the way you describe it as. Yes, I do love the edgy stuff in classic silhouettes but I more gravitate toward having a mix of very classic clothing (in neutrals and colors) classy dressed up stuff and edgy or cool stuff in a variety of silhouettes with only a few combination ones and I switch from wearing classics or edgy stuff with a little trendy thrown in and dressed up if this makes any sense.
This is my style, but I don't dress this way often enough. I'm too curvy for skinny jeans and fitted clothes, and my feet can't handle pumps or designer shoes. What do you suggest?
CapeCodBelle I had this worry and thought what to do to keep my footwear pretty without heels. I brought these faux suede pointy toe flats. They look elegant, classy and with the right clothes edgy.
Mom jeans are cool again!!!! Bring em back in better washes and modern details... Like a fitted v-neck ($10 H&M) and pointed minimal loafers (sole society has great options), modern makeup, and a sculptural jewelry piece (Think Anthropologie!) and top it all off with a slim crossbody or leather carryall tote for a practical nod that doesn't feel stuck. Pleated trousers with wide legs in breezy materials are also a thing. Try it for fall with a tissue thin turtleneck and suede block heeled mules (Who What Wear for Target has great options). You could also just switch out your regular basics for a ribbed version (The texture is iconic), and white sneakers in place of whatever you would instinctively wear (I personally recommend Vans slip ons because the chunky sole is a nod to the thick sneaker trend, but a lot more age appropriate imo)
Paula Adams. I have the same problem. I wear pencil skirts that come to the middle of my knee, right where it bends. Or as I tell the alterations place, a centimeter below the fattest part of my knee. I also hem my own. Same with dresses. I’m short too but I never buy petite short skirts or dresses. Same with dresses.
I think if you eat meat you can wear leather too, theres no difference in it and if she chooses not to be a vegetarian thats her thing not anyone elses
my style type is yoga pants and old man t-shirts

Edgy Style Rocks!
Excellent video... "full-on" anything looks costumy.
Your edgy classic look is fab! Love your channel!
Every brand in this video is out of my college student budget

Great information! It would be really nice to know more colors except black, white and grey. I am not a jeans girl but a skirt would do. Thank you.

CapeCodBelle if you like these clothes, then wear them! Who cares if you're "too curvy"
Thanks for the encouragement1

I'm a blend of casual chic and edgy classic.
Well, now I have a plan for my clothes and shopping. Oh my, and never before...50! ;-)
I think I'm somewhere like edgy classic, international, boho and preppy (because of the international colors)
My style type is classic 90's . But back then I was not as bottom big as now. I'm in my 40's. How can I incorporate it now.

The picture at 2:55, with the leather miniskirt and double jacket. Who is that?
How can I camouflage knocked knees? Decided to just give up wearing pants that I love:-(

Cheaper stores, please. 👍😎
Omg I love your personality. Just like Meghan Markle
Love you Lauren.... Leather though 😢 Cows want to wear their skin too.
Exactly! Just as bad as fur. Animal skin.
you could do faux leather
Ashley Reed remember it's all personal choice. They always have vegan options but some people like leather
I think if you eat meat you can wear leather too, theres no difference in it and if she chooses not to be a vegetarian thats her thing not anyone elses
FAUX leather isnt made from animals
Lauren... Im having these old videos recommended to me, and just got to this one.... your legs?! How come you're always hiding those gams?? ! Jealous!
