Love the video! As a gated V10 R8 owner, I can absolutely relate to everything you've said. I've had nearly 5 years of driving bliss with this car. It was my dream car ever since I first laid my eyes on it back in 07. Took me years of hard work and saving up money to buy one cash, no financing, but glad I did before the values skyrocketed during COVID! It still looks modern even after 17+ years. Its aged very gracefully! And it came out during, what I call, the golden age of motor cars. Has just enough tech, but still retains alot of analog elements us purists adore: hydraulic steering, a manual hand brake, mechanical LSDs, an normally aspirated high-revving V10 engine, and of course, the gated manual. This formula makes for a future classic. Its a car I will keep forever and drive until I am able to. Hopefully we get the carbon neutral biofuels in the next decade so I can keep driving it for many years to come. Long live the V10!!!
I have yet to drive the v10 but I just winterized our v8 and the shifter is a joy to drive for sure . The next best thing is my gti till the summer comes rolling in. It is a shame that it’s no longer in production 😢
Not a fan of the brand but Audi did have a very good design language in the models that started around that time, like this R or the A7. Got pretty stupid after with all the creases upon creases.
I own a Guards Red 2018 Porsche GT2 RS, typically no one wants to mess with me on the street, other than the occasional Superbike but the first few weeks after I bought her in 2018 and had gotten her broken in and the first service done, I had a guy in an R8 wanting to go out of a stop light and on to a new 4 lane country road with very little traffic. Based on us stopping to chat after the race he told me he didn't know what my car was, thinking it was some racer boy winged pretend race car. Anyway I pulled him pretty easily and badly but his car sounded amazing...now every time I go to a car show when an R8 pulls out to leave and runs her up I always comment, Okay everyone else can forget about leaving under power because no car here will sound as good as that R8.
What a wonderful good looking supercar for every day with a fantastic V10 aspirated 5.2 litres FSi engine... sound is insane! Guys I've been told it a thousand times and I'm ready to say it again... you're the best car guys on RUclips. I follow you everywhere/YT, Facebook and Instagram/ and I'm happy to be with you. The Audi/Lamborghini V10 is built like a tank and can withstand loads of turbo boost.
