I mean yes and no. It was based off the psychology of how young women can treat one another but it was a non fiction book. Most of the screenplay was original!

I didn’t know her and she is so different from the OG Janis, but after watching it the trailer did not do her justice. I ended up loving how she played Janis and the fact Janis is now so openly queer. Auli’i matched her vibe so well, I loved her acting, singing and style (as Renee would say “so hot”)

I like that it seems to be more diverse than the first one. Being a black woman / girl watchin that movie growing up and wondering why there were no Black girls (as main characters/ at all) is just disheartening. So it made me nervous growing up to say any of the memes/ jokes, or to even like the movie. As if it wasn’t “my kind of movie” just cuz I was black. (The principal/ teacher doesn’t court). My favorite line tho was “SHE DOESN’T EVEN GO HERE!” 😂😂
Mean Girls was super diverse. Especially for the time. It was realistic.
