I FULLY get what you mean about vent art. I can do vent writings (and have MULTIPLE times. Sometimes even unintentionally), but art?? Never been able to. It's not cathartic to me. I've tried, and only once has it helped me. In a way, any sort of drawing while im feeling bad _is_ vent art, but they don't necessarily _look_ like it. They're just drawings that i drew while feeling bad, not anything dark in particular. Some of my happy art may even read as vent to some people, but it's not. It's strange. But yeah, completely understand you there. I imagine it must've been hard to speak on your depression, but i imagine it must've been cathartic to explore those topics with these designs. They're all gorgeous, and i can see how much thought you put into them. When thinking of my own typing, it was obvious to me. "Fire psychic", because fire and psychic attacks are my favorites. Fairy may actually trump psychic in terms of pokemon-preference, but i am not a fairy type myself. But... those typings were chosen because i _like_ them, not what they _say_ about me. I've never thought deeply about it. Never chosen a type because of symbolism, and now i wonder what i could be, if i paid attention to all that. You've really opened my eyes to that. I'll have to think on it. Great video. Made me think, and i adore the designs.
Thank you so much! I definitely vent write. Sorta. It's journaling but a lot of the times it's just venting fears and frustrations and that can help sometimes. I've only had one real instance where vent art felt cathartic in a sense. Where I was so stressed and frustrated and that frustration turned into an image idea in my mind and I physically couldn't work on anything else until I drew this one thing. So I did. Didn't really feel better emotionally but I was able to finally work on the stuff I was actually trying to work on. ^^; Talking about depression is hard, especially in a video that's available publicly but had to be done with the designs. I don't know if this was cathartic but it was a nice way to explore how I felt about myself. If I was just choosing types I liked though I'd go either Fire, Dark or Fairy. Or Dragon. Dragons are always cool. ^^;
I definitely want to do this, but I know next to nothing about Pokémon. Just always admired it from afar. I wouldn’t even know where to start other than Pokémon esc art designs lol.
This went from making me feel really sad to feeling really happy to making me a bit scared. I mean, for your first two designs - oh my heart! 😭 I really hope that you’re able to find more happiness in your life. I don’t mean to be so informally personal towards a stranger, but I can’t help but feel an outpouring of empathy, having clinical depression myself (managed/treated, fortunately, but I feel sad when others have to suffer 😢). On the positive design: Oh my gosh, the happy evolution you perfectly merged Brionne and Rockruff! It’s so cute and happy, she could definitely be the protagonist of her own anime. 😂 Well done! On the last iteration: Going after one’s goals whatever the cost combined with ghost typing is a pretty intense vibe - like, scary intense. 😳 Very good designs - all of them. I think you perfectly captured the emotions in Pokémon form while staying true to your character design. Very nicely done.
Hey, whether it's 1 sub or 100,000 subs, I'm gonna do my best with the skills I've got. Plus I've only started uploading more regularly recently so who knows where I'll be by the end of the year. ^^;
