  • Just a quick update on the shop progress. The progress makes me smile. It's going to feel so good to be able to walk in there and have everything in it's place and everything working properly. I feel like I'm doing a low buck version of what Adam Booth is doing in his new shop. Couldn't be happier about that.

Did you have to get a permit to put up that metal tent? Can''t believe that would be approved in Upstate NY for wind and Snow load! So 2" x 2" metal tubing studs on 3? foot centers? Wow thats very VERY chintzy at best. Hope it didn't cost more than $5000.

Wow aren't you pleasent. Everything is permited, the building is engineered and meets all snow and wind loads. Oh and it also has a warranty. There are many of these in the area. These aren't a new style of building. They've been around for many years. I personally know of several building in this area that have been up for years. The tubes are all 2.25 with 12 guage walls. As someone who builds stuff out of metal all the time. I don't find that "chintzy" at all. Apparently you've never seen the paper thin sheet metal that they use for house framing when they frame with metal studs?
The pole barns out here are 8ft centers with a pressure treated post buried 4ft in the ground. They are wrapped in the same exact sheet metal as this. Same roofs and everything. The only difference is this is a steel frame with way more studs and trusses and it's anchored to a monolithic slab vs having a major structural post that will eventually rot away. Once this is finished inside with closed cell spray foam and paneling, it will be just as strong as any other building out here. You should really educate yourself on the engineering aspect of these buildings before you start talking trash. It's not a good look. I'm not sure if you realize this or not. This is the 2nd extremely negative post you've made on my channel. That mindset is extremely toxic and self destructive...
