Stereotypes about African/Black leadership just were to numerous to count in this interview. President Kagame held his own against this veiled racist interviewer and are white western philosophy. Peace from a supporter of Rwanda’s success by way of the south side of Chicago!
It is true that in the past, a lot of African leaders did not do a very good job and they hung around too long. Paul Kagame is doing a good job so from a Rwandan and African perspective he is indispensible. It is also very understandable why the people of Rwanda want him to continue. Wow, I have so much respect for this man. Nobody's perfect, we all know that, but he gets scrutinised more than most and unfairly so. He has done an amazing job for his own people. I love the fact that he doesn't care about what the West dictates.
Rwanda has about 50% production of the worlds coltan, according to the interviewer. But it is a mineral not found in it's own country.but the DRC which has 80% of the worlds coltan. Yet Rwanda produces more. I wonder where Rwanda gets it's Coltan?
Those myths about ‘coltan’ are quite bizarre and potentially harmful. They are mostly pushed by irresponsible congo agitators, although to be fair, the original fabrication may not be the agitators’ handiwork. Nonetheless there’s no doubt that you’re asking in good faith and for this reason I’ll try to answer. 1. Rwanda’s production was 12 and 15% of the worldwide production of tantalum in 2020 and 2021 respectively. This according to the US Geological Survey. 2. Congo has 80%? Here’s the USGS assessment: _‘Most identified world resources of tantalum are in Australia, Brazil, Canada, and China.’_ Worldwide production in 2021 was 1.8K tons, compared to China’s reserves of 180K tons, and Australia’s 99K tons. 3. Production in *any* country fluctuates. Congo’s was 37 and 43% of the worldwide production of tantalum in 2020 and 2021 respectively, again according to the USGS. Therefore it’s not true that Rwanda produces more. At least not every year. 4. Many video productions have been published about Rwandan mining operations. At some point, even congo mine operators were invited to Rwanda to observe and learn better mining techniques and practices.
I get really annoyed when they question Kagame’s rule and the country. Did Europe forget that majority of those nations where under monarchy AND transitioned to a democracy. It amazes me how little the world spoke when Taiwan exited authoritarian rule for democracy only in the mid 90s despite being its own self ruled country sine the 50s. Western powers are always drawing lines and paintings things black and white. Having a dictator/monarchy/authoritarian regime is generally bad but history has had had good examples peppered in and Kagame has proven himself the later. He doesn’t rule for power nor punitively he rules to push the country forward like Asia and keep the countries ghosts at bay. The only question they should be asking is how is he preparing the country for life after him as he will either die in office or step down and the best leaders authoritarian or not set up their countrymen for success. Enough of this how long will you rule? Ask how prayer will this country be for the next step in its transformation!

I pray that Rwandans chooses in the future someone like him to continue building on what they’ve collectively work so hard for which is peace and stability. A true patriot. You guys are really blessed. If only presidents are allowed to be borrowed, we will borrow president Kagame to come be our president in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱. ❤️🇸🇱❤️
If it's not broken, don't fix it. Paul Kagame has been re-elected, therefore the people want him in that role. Rules on expression of identity will be different in somewhere such as Rwanda, given its history and the need to heal. In the west we are used to leaders that last two, three, five or at the most 11 years. In other countries it might be different.
I wish all the people would think like you.

Rwanda has about 50% production of the worlds coltan, according to the interviewer. But it is a mineral not found in it's own country.but the DRC which has 80% of the worlds coltan. Yet Rwanda produces more. I wonder where Rwanda gets it's Coltan?
Congo has no infrastructure!
He is a good leader period, not only in Africa...
