One Rwandan friend of mine told me this when I asked him about the accusations about opposition leaders in Rwanda " he said maybe in Africa we don't need the so called western democracy, we should have our own way of democracy, an African way " in short what kagame was saying in this interview. Its just amazing the people of Rwanda are the backbone of kagame as he is to them. So western ideology keep off.

We have problem in Rwanda, people with Kagame (almost all from his ethnic group) control everything, there have easy access to jobs, business, and all repeat his version. Ask your friend, if he's in rwanda, he can't talk anything different from official version otherwise his dead!, if he is outside the country he's more likely from same ethnic group with Kagame. That is the deep problem in rwandan society, when you have power every one must be at your side otherwise he is designed as enemy and must be eliminated.

Indeed, many people wrongly limit the definition of democracy to political alternation, or even to the existence of opposition parties. Democracy must guarantee individual freedoms; however, the West by imposing political governance or a political regime on the countries of the world without taking into account the socio-cultural context and values of these countries, infringes the individual freedoms of their citizens. This Western dictatorship has led to conflicts and wars in several countries of the world. For example: Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sub-Saharan Africa countries and so on. It is impossible to impose political governance or political regime in Morocco or Saudi Arabia, because the people of these countries have been accustomed to royalty for several centuries. @@t_chak that’s just it, Democracy means different thing to different cultures. We constantly get tangled up in this quagmire of legal debates. Just because something is made “legal” doesn’t make it right or morally just. For an example, it was the Democratic Part in America who felt it was their right to own other people and it was legally recognized by the Government, but was it morally right and/or just?
Right now in America police are killing black peoples with “qualified immunity” which is also legally recognized by the Government. However, it’s not moral or just.
The people Of Rwanda have collectively banded together to change their constitution so that they can keep the leader the they are happy with. Now to some in the international community, who by the way had no problem standing by while Rwanda was falling apart, this is considered illegal. However there are no term limits on American senators, congressman, or House Representatives. There are no term limits imposed on Canadian leaders. Angela Merkel of Germany has been in her position for over 15 years and counting but we don’t hear anybody raising any concerns about that. That said, we can morally argue that the same logic being used against President Kagame’s tenure, can and should be imposed on leaders from other countries as well. However, from a “legal” standpoint, outsiders of America, Canada, or any European country cannot try and dictate terms and conditions to which leaders stay or go regardless of morality!!!

Paul Kagame is doing very well. 'Term limit ' in itself does not put food on the table. For me, its about development and well being. So, if Kagame is doing well, why do you boot him out in the name of 'term limit'. The history and culture of the people must be incorporated into its own unique democracy. There is nothing like universal western democracy. Democracy is universal but western democracy is only western democracy, as the name suggests. Rwanda must be respected and her historicity appreciated. Kudos Paul Kagame. You have done well. So, we can have Ghana, Rwanda, Malawi, Botswana, etc versions of their democracy that is suitable to culture and history. All being said, the democracy/governance system must benefit the citizens.

This moderator or whatever we call him or call himself should stopped being bias. If he thinks democracy is universal and should be universal, the west should stop handpicks our leaders. Africans knows what is going on behind the political scene (scenario) but we can’t say much because most of our leaders are in bed with those plotting our downfall, because most of the leaders were and are hand picked from the same force because of all this big cooperations mining and looting our natural resources. They are lairs who lies between their teeth and turn around and call us names.

Africans it’s time we wake up, especially Rwanda’s. We have a lot of francophone countries in Africa that the French has been exploiting using their leaders and these so called human right activists and democratic leaders have refused to do nothing or tell their leaders who’s been ruling for decades to step down. Now we got one good leader who is loved by his people and they trying to cause confusion because they genuinely don’t want anything good to come out of Africa. Rwanda’s better learn from Libya, they still suffering the consequences of not standing by Gaddafi. Let kegame be, He’s loved by Africans.

There was no outrage about the President of Singapore being in power for decades and his son taking power after his death. Singapore was taken out of poverty and third world status by this decades ruling President. Like the Singaporean leader Paul Kagame is a great leader who puts his country and his people first. Why put someone in that will not be committed to this extraordinary transformation. The Rwandan people are thriving. The country is clean, safe, and prosperous with the people benefitting greatly from his leadership. The West has no place imposing their systems on other people.

Love that immediate response, "How do people win by 25%?" The complex elevation of this leaders thought manifested in his prism of words speaks to the depth of his humanity to even be able to see from multiple perspectives and then clarify it so others can perceive that which they can not see. The change itself is an exhibition of truth. Faith without works is dead and the work of Rawanda is clear, so have faith in what can be accomplished in just another 10 years. Yes 10, not 1000. These western countries are taking centuries to even get rid of just the system of racism, which was an absolute creation, not even endemic to the natural soul operation of a man. I mean democracy as represented here in the divided states feeds the places in ones heart that are void of light and replaces equity and freedom and happiness and unity and growth with an insatiable need to consume, even to the destruction of both man and earth, not only in ones own generation but into the next.

I wish many of the other leaders in Africa could lead their citizens and manage their countries like this great president of our continent. I believe there are millions of Africans who are also proud of president kagame's leadership, and his understanding of what's important to his people and country. If citizens of Rwanda wants their president to lead them twenty more years, that's their choice! Democracy in the west is not equivalent to democracy in African countries; many of which are taken advantage of. Therefore, when we African sees a leader who's not corrupt and managing the affairs of their country, like President Paul Kagame; we Africans begin to respect and admire that leader! I hope and wish other leaders follows Rwandan president examples in Africa.

As a Nigerian I've watched several Western Journalist interview this man called Paul Kagame and one thing that baffles me is that these journalists usually ask him questions that samples western values as the best point of view, which I think is a wrong way to ask a man who understands that the world cannot be viewed from one lens or perspective in order to get the right view of things. Also, he always try to correct them and let them know that he's not against their view but they should respect other peoples view and what works for them in their own dynamic space. Also this idea of superiority and inferiority of whose values are best to fit and fix this dynamic space called Earth or the world as we may know it, will surely leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth because one size doesn't fit all.....💯%
