  • America's nurses are stressed out and getting out. Data from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing shows 100,000 nurses left the workforce during the pandemic. FOX's Bowen Kedrowicz asked health officials why it's happening.

I’m a part of the statistic. Leaving the profession. Been treated like trash, and I’ve been through hell. Hospitals are so greedy it makes me so angry! Short staffing units on purpose so the CEO can’t get his $10 million dollar check? Yeah… peace ✌🏿

I left bedside nursing in 2017. It didn't take Covid to burn me out. People are getting sicker and sicker. There will never be enough nurses to take care of them all.

Yes, I understand!!! Been a Registered Nurse for 30 years. I'm so tired of being given more patients than I can take care of with Administration trying to give you more and trying to force you to work way longer than a regular shift. It's just too much!!!

I worked as a CNA for 3 while setting myself up for nursing school. After working with nurses and seeing their work environment, I decided no way.

Wow 😮 me too!!!! I have been working as an LNA and after 1 year was going to test for RN School 🏫 yet I felt this inner doubt feeling like don’t go to Nursing school 🏫 and THANK GOD because I have experienced the toxic hospital experience and my Sanity & Serenity are WORTH MORE TO ME than another degree to be stuck with a $65,000.00 student loan only to work in an industry that is NOT CONDUCIVE to my Spiritual Values and HR doesn’t care about anyone but the money 💰

I love bedside nursing but would like my wages to keep pace with inflation. Why aren't we unionizing?! Seems to make sense since the hospital admin is not going to voluntarily increase nursing wages- they seem to try everything except that.

Not paying me enough. My friends with other careers are making $180-$200K only working 30-40 hours. I work 60 hours and not coming close to their salary. Hopefully this is my last year in nursing.

I’m going to nursing school now and working as an assistant at a hospital. Seeing what goes on and the stress that is involved is not rewarding at all. One patient gets discharged and 3 get admitted. It’s a never ending story. Hospitals are clearly a business and nurses are overwhelmed and overworked. I see more than 1/5 leaving. It’s going to get bad and it’s making me want to get out before it gets messy

If I had 9 patients, they wouldn’t even get a two weeks from me. They would get a bye, see ya never again. That’s appalling. We need national mandated ratios and enforced covered breaks and zero tolerance for abuse. The stress of being overworked will kill you before whatever pay you think it was worth it all for means anything.

Try being a nurse at a nursing home
Where you get 40 average patients! Even the CNa can have this many and that is more physical.

Nurses are leaving the profession because of corporate disrespectful to nurses and corporate don't value us .... bottom line , it's about profit that benefits the pockets of the CEOs ... greediness . Always understaffed due to budget ...

I don't blame them. I couldn't deal with rude and nasty people 12 hours a day. I've heard stories of nurses being kicked and spat on. No amount of money is worth dealing with that.

If your facility has 30 open nursing positions and no applicants, do you care about their hair being down? That being said I have very short hair which was great for ICU and not contaminating.

Most of the nurses are worth 10-20 bucks an hour outside of nursing but wages need to be higher inside nursing so that positions get filled. I actually think nurses are better on average, than a typical employee but the market for administrative/government stuff is over-saturated, and shortages exist in other sectors.

    • @isocarboxazid

What a stupid comment- from some fool who isn't worth 10 bucks an hour in any field.
