it's a siphon. thermodynamics, ergo physics, doesn't rule it out. it does limit how long it will occur. does this actually work? i suppose you should experiment before you comment. maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. it's not perpetual motion...but it certainly is motion.
Now turn it into a closed system to restrict water loss, scale it up, add some turbine generator fans, which should help keep water flow consistent, and generate a little electricity while you're at it.
@@Stargazur that won't work. You can't make energy out of nothing. The only way to get energy is by converting another energy into it. Like a hydro plant. You turn the mechanical energy from the water to make the gears move and make electricity. If you try something like that with this. It'll make the water stop you may as well just keep pouring water over a generator gear with a cup.
a certain amount of water will fill the sprout and only some will actually pour out, and for the next even less will pour out since some of the water will stay in the sprout, and so on, because of this it will stop a lot quicker than shown in the video
Siphon doesn't work like that lmao. It wants ti make the water at the same level every where, so it won't work like that. Also why is the water pouring from the long thing (english is not my first language so I don't know the name od it) instead of the hole where he poured water?
I like how when they fill the one watering can all the way with the hose, water doesn't come out of the spigot, but when they fill it up when it's in the circle of cans, the spigot suddenly starts pouring water.
Ignore all the cans except the first can he is throwing the water into at 1:04, he pours water until 1:12. Now watch closely from 1:13 to 1:20. For 7 seconds he stops pouring water into the first can, during those 7 seconds water is pouring from the first can into the second can. The water level in the first can never goes down. He has a hose in the first can sending water up through the spout. I guarantee that watering cans in groups of four have increased in sales though.
Nice editing. You disproved yourself at 0:33. If this was real the water would have poured out the spout when you filed the can to over flowing. If you watch carefully you can see the edit at 1:05. The water does not start with a trickle but a gush.
1:12 mask change is pretty smooth, shadows change on the 3rd can's handle and top, but the water suddenly appears already reaching all the way into the can. It dies back and re-emerges much more believably at 1:13, but the surface of the water in the third can is already agitated. 1:16 shadow appears on the left side of the 3rd can's tip as the mask changes, water again appears already reaching all the way into the can. also the mask leaves the shadow on the tip inconsistent with the stem, should have masked the whole thing. 1:19 the first can's top bloats on the left side, and the tiny corner of flagstone between it and the fourth can's nozzle has a significant lighting change. Kinda nice, but pretty sloppy on the masking, and perhaps should have faded the transitions over a few frames
Very nice and clean edit! Also very clever idea. --- The 'I have nothing better to do during quarantine' comment: this would be impossible because water would naturally want to level out and since the ends of the spigots are higher than the water reservoir there would be no way for the water to spew out in that way. The only way to get the water to come out of the spigots is by pressure which I'm assuming is done by a hose.
There's clear manipulation to the video, especially on the first can when it starts to spill out. Not to mention that the pressure is higher on exit and also the amount of water is higher than the amount poured in. The reality is that using a pythagorean siphon, which this is obviously trying to simulate, requires the exit end to be lower than the level of water inside the can (which this is clearly not) and the pressure would be way less. Entertaining to watch but that's all it is. There are much easier ways to accomplish a visual and realistic looking as well. A disclaimer that this is for entertainment purpose would probably get you less hate in the comments as this is clearly meant to deceive the less knowledgeable. I would say that this is reflecting bad on your knowledge as well since you clearly didn't put much thought into making this hard to follow (but your editing skills are pretty good, yet not perfect).
I believe this is also known as the " four pump method" for those of us without video editing skills🤣🤣🤣 Sad thing is, some in the comments actually believe this works.
Even if it were a possible "perpetual motion" device, which it isn't, it would need to achieve over-unity in order to MAKE energy, which it also isn't. I can't believe I took the time to comment. Damn lockdown boredom.
A slight mistake brother... we all can see that when you filled the jar in the first place... we didn't see the water coming out of the nozzle even when it filled completely and you continued pouring the water... then how can the water come out through the nozzle the second time you did that to start the loop... This is absolutely unreal...
Someone on instagram sent me this video in an attempt to prove a similar impossible thing. The worst part is almost all the commentors thought it was possible.
So much for other crazy ideas like the use of neodymium magnets in some sort of projects or else... just 4/5 watering cans, some water and the good ol' infallible earth gravity :). With the right watering cans shaped forms, you can think to put some fans between them and the falling water strems (without splilling it out) and link those to some dynamo and light bulbs, and voilà ! Perpetual Lights ON for your house !
This is a great edit but the cut right at where the water initially pours out is too dirty. There needs to be a slower transition of the water coming out at first then it will look perfect.
I really don’t know how you edited it am mean it looks and it sounds sooo real but i know this is just not possible because of the law of fysics, Theres something more then what meets the eye.
The end of the watering can is higher than the big hole in the middle so the water would just go out of the middle and would spill on the floor But the pumps let this work
