Nice video. People will one day figure out a Fender Player/Vintera just are far too expensive for the shoddy fretwork and total disregard for any...ANY kind of setup. Too be clear I'm a guitar setup tech. Fender just can't install frets completely.
@@squishy_baby I was curious, so I went on the HB website, and they have the cheaper one listed as a new release. Makes sense. Milk the Plus model and get the full wave of bigger spenders, then market the next model to those on tighter budgets. Harley Benton knows what they’re doing.
Very good !! My surprise is about the volume of the guitar, when you down a little bit and the sound has very good quality and without distorsion. I think I read some comments in other HB guitars that volume guitar not works great in this aspect. What do you think?? Thanks !!
Thank you! It works great on this guitar, but this also depends on the amp you use. If you use a good tube amp, than this will work perfectly - like in the video. On this model it works much better than on cheaper Harley Benton guitars
I’m expecting delivery of an ST Modern Plus tomorrow and it sounds like I will be changing the pickups, pots and caps the same as I have with all my other Harley Benton guitars. For me these Tesla pickups sound too thin and brittle with too much top end. They lack mid range, bottom end and warmth. Can’t really expect much else sound wise from pickups at the price point of these guitars, Harley Benton generally give you great ‘bang for your buck’ , they produce guitars with quality fundamental components ideal for modding and upgrading to premium guitar level. (Edit) took delivery of the ST Modern 2-days ago and it sounds very different ‘in the room’ to the demo’s I’ve heard so far on You Tube, which actually all sound quite different to each other. Amps, rigs, playing style and compression of You Tube sound files is always going to make a difference. The single coils are higher output than your average Strat and sound great clean and with overdrive, the humbucker is full and warm. I haven’t had the opportunity to record it in the studio yet to see how it sits in a mix but definitely no intention of swapping these pickups as yet. The fit, finish, and quality of my ST Modern is amazing, the neck in particular is sublime. Really well done Harley Benton!
It's all in your head. If I played you a St modern stock, and one modded with the pickups of your choice, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference guaranteed.
A personal choice difference isn't a quality difference. There's no lack of quality in the pickups they're just a different voicing to the one you want. If you bought a Fender with the exact same pickups you would describe it as a choice difference not a quality difference. With the Tesla pickups you can find sound recordings A/Bing them against for example the Seymour Duncan hotrodded jazz set, and they sound identical. They aren't low-quality pickups.
@@LukeMosse Hi Luke, it depends what you mean by “quality difference”? The quality of the sound and tones produced by the pickups is subjective and is based on what we all like individually. As previously mentioned ‘for me’ they sound too thin on cleaner settings, if you add high gain and effects this nullifies a lot of pickup tone. As far as quality of components is concerned the quality of the baseplates, magnets, and copper wire that are used on Harley Benton guitars is not the same quality as the Suhr Thornbuckers or the Alan Dingwall spirit pickups I have in my Harley Benton fusion’s and SC 550, so there is a clear quality difference in the pickup components. Harley Benton do an amazing job producing great guitars at budget prices I’m a massive fan of what they do but they cannot use really high quality components throughout each model of the guitars they produce and still make profit at the price they sell them for.
Hey Sascha, the guitar sounds really ace with your amp (and playing of course 👍). How do you feel about the bridge coil split vs a standard single coil? Is it a major sound trade-off on this guitar? I'm always uncertain about this - flexibility vs classic tone.
Love the look and quality of these but I don't think I can overcome my reservations about the trem. I have a preference for a low profile bridge and the way these seem to make palm muting impossible is a deal-breaker I think.

Mine should be arriving today in the same color. This video got me super hyped. Sounds awesome man!
Thanks, hope you will enjoy the guitar!

That neck ,such a beautiful timber.❤
Cool video, you rock!

No way Harley Benton commented😮
Man that sounds so good!
Hes playing through a great amp
Thanks :)

I don't... Ooh Noo 😂
:)
Yes you do😂
This wasn't even on my radar and now I think I'm buying one.
So true as I just sat down to read the reviews after playing mine for a day, so of course I had to put down my other new guitar
hahaha yes indeed.. I literally JUST finished customizing a Fusion-III HSS.. it is PERFECT... but then it hits me again :(
How does it compare with fender mexican player strat and PRS silver sky SE?
I received mine yesterday. Looks, feels and sounds really good. No complaints, except for one really big one: the fretboard edges are not rolled.
Easily done DIY in an hour. Ordinary nail file will do the trick.
Did you get the plus model or the base model?
@@squishy_baby ST-Modern Plus.
I haven’t heard of an ST-Modern base model. Is that a new release?
@@Chris4Liberty no, not at all. The base model modern is like 180€ the modern plus is 399€.

Pick-ups don't "sound too thin", people just lack a brain to use EQ. Morons change pick-ups.

Yes they are rolled on this one
