I moved into a 450 square ft. studio 6 months ago. I feel like if it was any bigger I couldn't handle it. I love having this this small area to grow in and do my best to take of.
This is quite big for a place in Paris! I've been living there for 12 years now and never could afford such a large and functional place 😢 also it's nice you have everything inside because on smaller spaces, toilets are often outside of the apartment and shared with neighbors in order to gain space #parisianlife
I had no idea! That's Kind of neat & weird at the same time. Lol I'm kind of surprised to hear that that's a nicer apartmen though. Now I'm going on the hunt for RUclipsrs from Paris. This really interests me!
You should do travel vlogs but asmr style. I’ve been obsessed with asmr in public lately. People just walking around touching feeling and taping their surroundings, explaining in soft voice, background noises of people.
The beginning of the video is adorable! I lived in Paris for 6 years and my apartment wasn’t as cute as this I can tell you 😄 It’s weird how I miss Paris sometimes, but I feel like I would be sooo stressed out with work and family there. Profite bien de ton séjour ! 😊
Can you do a video about your reactions about Paris ? I am french and I always ear youtubers say they want to go to Paris because it is beautiful... I agree with the fact that there is a lot of culture in Paris but there are also bad sides (accessibility, poberty, people can be really snob,...). I much prefer cities like Vancouver Canada where they are trying to improve their way of living and the environment.
There are good and bad sides to virtually all cultures, and many of the "positives" and "negatives" are subjective. As I have lived in and around large cities for my entire life (Baltimore, New York, Los Angeles), I have seen some of the same negatives you describe in Paris especially concerning disparity of wealth and poverty. In my opinion, Paris is extremely accessible - very walkable with highly efficient transportation. While this was also the case in New York, this is certainly not always the case in Los Angeles. My initial desire to return to Paris stemmed from a previous trip here that was highly enjoyable albeit short. Since you have presumably spent a large majority of your life in France, venturing outside of the familiarity is probably more exciting to you, as it is for me.
@@itsblitzzz That is true, but outside of the city center Paris is not beautiful at all and actually pretty dangerous. They have a lot of problems with violence and crimes in the banlieues. Also the rents are sooo high and the métro is also dirty and can be dangerous as well- definetly look out for thieves, if you don't want to loose your purse! Otherwise it is place with a lot of great architecture, culture and history!
that's so funny because I live in vancouver and I feel the same way you feel about paris about here. We have huge issues here with foreign buying and it's become too expensive to live here so all the folks who grew up here are moving away. An entire mental health facility closed in the early 2000s and dumped all the patients on the streets, and they are still living there to this day. Like their own little village on East Hastings. Only now are they deciding to reopen the facility but it a bit too late now.
Please bring us more Paris videos Julia! I’m enamoured by Paris but I’ve never had the chance to visit. Most of the youtubers I see in Paris do the same old boring stuff and I know you’ll have interesting tales to share!!
Wow, that’s awesome! Many people who wish to travel often don’t understand the amount of budgeting and planning that goes into a trip when on a budget. Thank you for breaking it down. Enjoy 😊
Bonjour!🥰I loved this Julia!, & yes please create a ‘mornings in Paris’ vlog, & also what you packed to wear for Paris! At least you have a minimalist washer!!😂😂..Have a beautiful day!💓💓Xx
It's an adorable apartment. It's not considered small by Paris or even London standards. Space is prime estate and a luxury in these two cities unless you are very wealthy. I love the rustic decor, it has so much character !! Enjoy Paris, it is a beautiful city !! :)
I spent two weeks in Germany over Christmas and it was so amazing. Watching your video just brings me back to that feeling of adventure and life. Enjoy it!
It’s such a small apartment and I feel there’s not many people who could make living there work, but knowing your lifestyle from your videos I know this tiny home will be perfectly functional and cozy for you two. I think I’d feel a little smothered living there and become claustrophobic with the low ceilings, but the layout of the house is so cute and “darling”, if you will. Living there with my best friend for a month would be a dream, so I hope you two continue to enjoy staying there ❤️❤️
i'm currently living in london. tiny apartment as well and paying lots for it... but like yours it's very functional and i feel like i don't need much more than this, to be honest; like you said, it's been a dream so far. i'm brazilian and i feel like people might have a point in the comments: you and i are used to more room because of where we're from, but here in europe i guess houses/flats are just generally much smaller. it'll be interesting to see you cook a meal there, maybe i'll learn some tricks because that's something we haven't managed to do over here and it's stressing me out to not be eating so well. anyways, i'm really looking forward to your videos in paris... if you ever come to london for the weekend and need tips on what to do or even company, feel free to talk to me
Tip for Norwegian Air the cheapest tickets do not include food, drinks or baggage, but you can upgrade to the next level for just around $100. and that includes meals, drink with meal, 1 checked bag and choosing your set. We fly to Spain on Norwegian all the time, we choose to pay the upgrade because you get more for your money it's just about the same as paying just for baggage but you get more.
I've been learning French since I was 11 (I'm 18 now Hehe) and you guys sound GREAT!!!! such beautiful accents and fluency ❤ it's my dream to visit Paris one day
The dynamic between you and Kaelin is so cute! Watching this reminded me of having sleepovers with my friends and laughing until we cried from all the silly stuff we did (like handstands on rafters 😄). Also, what a great find! That’s not too expensive for a place like that with two people contributing. My fiancé and I are planning a trip to France, so this was helpful to watch. Thanks for the insight!
Thank you for sharing your quaint apartment! I’m honestly still shocked that people can go so in on questioning your choices and finances etc... sorry, but wow! Have fun ladies! Take Care, Kelly ❤️🧡💜
I think a lot of people (especially those who wish to travel abroad themselves) are genuinely curious about how to financially plan and I definitely don't mind addressing the curiosity! Thank you so much for the support ❤️
I'm so excited to see more videos in Paris, especially the cooking one! I love the idea of moving to another country for a short bit and it's awesome to see a youtuber I love & respect do it. Super inspirational :,) Enjoy your time!
Bonjour Julia and Kaelin! I love the small little quaint Air BNB! Thank you in advance for sharing and letting us see Paris through your eyes! So looking forward to your first ASMR from Paris! Au revoir!🍾💝
Hi Julia. Thank you so much for the tour. That was fun to watch. I would love to visit Paris sometime. I was supposed to go when I was 17 but it didn’t happen. Long story. I hope that you and your friend have a great time. And I look forward to watching more videos from Paris. Merci beaucoups. 😊💕
For some reason I can only picture you in one of two neighborhoods...either choosing the bohemian vibe of the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank, or going for the trendy and hip galleries and bistros in the Marais. Love the apartment and the view from your bedroom window. Can't wait to enjoy the city with you two 😊
Wow that place is gorgeous! I live for these stained-glass panels! I'm from Paris and it's pretty rare to see an apartment with such original tile-flooring and furniture. Absolutely stunning!
And yeah people in Paris all live in tiny yet efficient housing. But the plus side is that, unlike a lot of Americans, they live on their own and don't have roommates.
Well you are definitely not crazy for bringing your reusable bags because you have to buy grocery bags! One of my favorite French souvenirs is actually the grocery store tote bags I bought, I still use them at home 8 years later. You are both obviously having a great time, thanks for sharing with us. I'd love to see a chill video of your morning routine, maybe some long shots of the balcony/window areas and people watching down your street? So we can take in the scenery with you :)
oh my god you're living my dream! Paris is where I want to go most in the world. All I want, is to do what you're doing. (plus that airbnb is stunning!)
It's very cool that you two decided to go for it. I hope you enjoy it and grow from the experience! Also Kaelin seems super f cool. textile design ftw.
The neighborhood and your flat remind me so much of the area my boyfriend and I stayed in last May, we were in Le Marais on Rue Tiquetonne, everything was so similar down to the red tiles and white beams. There was a restaurant on our street called L'Apibo, the most amazing chocolate dessert I have ever had, highly recommend with a glass of champagne if you find yourself in that area. I hope you enjoy, Paris is lovely!
It’s so beautiful and cozy. I love the stained glass. What?!! How did you get such a cheap round trip ticket? Enjoy yourself, be safe! Your French isn’t that bad!
Yasss so cozy! This makes me want to party and drink French wine! I hope we can expect a session video while you’re there! Have fun, celebrating with you xoxo!
Hope you're able to do a video on some of the other apartments if not all! If the residents are willing of course ;) This is so fantastic and all that stained glass is dreamy.
That's not even too small for Paris - stayed in an airbnb there last summer that my boyfriend couldn't stand up straight in! The tiniest little garret ever
Ooh wow! I just googled flights to Paris. They do double in price over the summer but most of the year it looks like they’re around $500. I had no idea! Thanks for doing this. I’ve really been planning on doing something like in the next year or so and had no idea where to start. ❤️
Had the same experience on Norwegian in November both to and from Paris. They don't even look at you when they pass by with the water. I was so sad but! Lesson learned for the flight back. I hope you love it as much as I did! Highly recommend Bouillon Pigalle (Pigalle is a fun place to explore), Hardware Societe and Le Grenier a Pain !!

When I traveled in Paris two summers ago, I couchsurfed in a place with a courtyard JUST like that one. I just flipped and got my hard drive out and hunted down the pic of that courtyard. I wish I could post a pic in these comments because DANG they are similar. Not the same, but woah. Anyway, looks lovely in there!
Your French is adorable ! The Airbnb looks really cute too, hope you enjoy Paris. I’d love to run into you in the streets (although I probably wouldn’t want to bother you haha) x
Hey Julia ! You need to check out Marché Bastille. It's my favorite thing to buy fresh fruits on a Sunday here❤️ The market at rue d'aligre is great too :) I moved to Paris over a year ago and 40m2 is for Paris already a lot. My first flat here was only 19m2 that was tiny. When I opened the door I was already in my bed.
Salud is cheers. Or you can say “à votre santé” or just “santé” which means to your health (first is more formal). There’s some great learn French podcasts I listen to when I’m not traveling and don’t have anyone to practice with. Enjoy your time in France!
Haha I love that a standard sized European apartment is considered a tiny house by Americans. Looks lovely, enjoy your time in France!
It's mostly tiny because I'm as tall as the ceilings 🙃
Actually in greece and italy this is considered TINY af
it's not a standard European size...but for Paris 40m2 is a lot
I consider it tiny and I lived in the UK for half my life. The fact it has a kitchenette is evidence of that.
Vermilion X I’m from Germany and that would definitely also be tiny here
itsParitzzz.
Cheers in French is “santé” which means health!
🥂❤️
Or sometimes « Tchin! » which means nothing.
I moved into a 450 square ft. studio 6 months ago. I feel like if it was any bigger I couldn't handle it. I love having this this small area to grow in and do my best to take of.
40m2 is by no means small for Paris.

Kit Cat kinda, especially because of its location
I had no idea! That's Kind of neat & weird at the same time. Lol
I'm kind of surprised to hear that that's a nicer apartmen though. Now I'm going on the hunt for RUclipsrs from Paris. This really interests me!
Yeah 40 sq meters is quite big, even for other cities, I live in Nice, in a 18 sq meters flat...
Yeah I was like oooooh their shower is not in the kitchen!

Oh et santé ! (Pour le champagne) 🥂
I went to Paris a year and a half ago, and I absolutely loved it. I feel like I belong there. I dream of moving my family there in the near future.
I'm happy you showed what art she was working on, I was very curious. Looking forward to more of these Parisian vlogs! ✨✨
PS: "cheers" isn't "salut". People often make the mistake because it's "salud" in Spanish. In French, we say "Santé !" as to wish each other health ;)
Ghōst yes and Salut means hi!
Salud also means health in spanish. Seems to be the common formula in a lot european countries.
@@PoisonedApathy Yes but "Salut" in French" does not mean "santé" but "Hi!" :)
@@astrid-bellido Haha I know ;)
