I love to see Alex in this series. He would be such a fun guy to play with. Easy going, just enjoying the game for the game not just winning. Having fun with the fluff and the story. But I feel that his play style is giving him a handicap vs the other players. I hope to see more of him in other content then this series.
username from what I see it looks likes he’s not really making his lists with a plan in mind. He’s just using the models he has and playing them. And because he’s so easy going he doesn’t try to be as aggressive as he could be and actively try to win.
He is the polar opposite of a tryhard, at the other end of that spectrum. It's kind of the reason I loved him in the series. It's a bit ironic that I want him to be a little more of a tryhard.
It's kind of like when they play TTT, they focus more on being entertaining rather than being good at the game. I don't think you really want him to be tryhard you just want him to play the game a little better.
This is such a great series! I haven't played Warhammer since i was younger and I played LOTR, but I'm really appreciating the chill atmosphere and the bantz
Everyone whose butt hurt about them having fun and not playing 100% by the rules is a joke. If Duncan was here trying to be try hard and play by the rules but fail then I would understand. But these two are just having fun kinda winging it and having a good time. I would 100% prefer them having fun over the try hards
Shout out to the fact that Duncan constantly lets the other person redo mistakes and is generally playing just as casually as everyone else but he’s a try hard because he occasionally references rules
Alex is so nice. I can tell he’s letting lewis get away with mess ups even though I’ve never played before. He clearly wants everyone including himself and the audience to have fun. I love the chill atmosphere I fucking love battle boys
Binging these vids, after getting back into tabletop. Loving the show guys/girls, keep it up. This particular bat-rep' was very casual, was I the only one who witnessed Lewis calling rolls he didnt actually make ?.
you do not require LOS to declare against a enemy unit but the enemy unit requires LOS to overwatch, this means that deathcompany with jumppacks (FLY) can sit behind a LOS blocking wall and jump over it to engage in a charge but the enemy couldnt shoot them. For moving models in a charge you simply roll the dice and add any modifyers then move each model that distance so atleast 1 is within 1" of the target unit once this is done then they are considered to be engaged into the combat phase, this will result in a unit being able to 'pile in' to that unit 3" and roll to hit. so using the death company example, they are 8" away with one dude while the rest are upto 13" away, i roll an impressive 10 for the charge so i get 2 in 1" and the rest are out of the 1", i declare them to start the fight phase and will move them 3" closer to the enemy unit resulting in another 5 in range to fight.
gigaraxgaming that charge would come In the subsequent turn and if you mean breaks cohesion the rules state that once broken you should aim to reform cohesion ASAP so you wouldn't need to
Ell Bennett what do you mean squeezing owlbears into flyers is perfectly reasonable.... all jokes aside they are just trying to have fun they are bound to get rules wrong... this is how casual play ends up
These guys are not the best at Warhammer 40k. And it's not meant to be competitive, they are playing for fun. As long as they all agree and are happy with how the rules have gone in each game. I don't see the problem. Ofc the should strive to learn more of the rules, but everyone is going to make a mistake eventually, more so beginners.
Nico Jürgensen.. A round consists of meny phases and you can only use one cp to do a re-roll per phase, so, in the "shooting phase" you can do a cp re-roll on one dice.. And that's it for that phase.
Man i should properly open a law ferm with these rule mistakes that are so basically simple, Stratagems can only be used once in a phase so Lewis couldnt use the reroll 3 times in 1 shooting phase
yes and youd assume this is matched as they are playing a mission from the book as a basis for their custom scenerio as stated which can only be done in matched

As someone who has never played 40k, what is wrong with his strategy? I really can’t tell the difference between each person’s play style.

yeah, but if he did those things then people would accuse him of being a tryhard, and say he's ruining the series

It's great to see alex be comfortable on camera now
Lewis just needs to get all the other yogs platforms for christmas and we will be set!
2:35 Lewis finally drinks some water. Jesus Christ so stressful
Whats more depressing then the battle boys theme tune?
The battle boy theme tune sung with out any passion.
This is like a slow acoustic cover of a cheery pop song.

Alex, you were literally talking about the wyches Invulnerable like 5 minutes before they were charged and you completely forgot. RIP wyches.
Lewis: "My warriors can't see anything!"
Do you mean the warriors standing right underneath Alex's Voidraven...?

I’ve always found that if the people you’re playing with are cool with it then it’s just fine. Best to play where you just enjoy yourself.

Anyone else love Lewis's movement after Alex has been literally spanning the field every move.
The targeting Relay lets you reroll 1's, it doesn't give you +1

Ell Bennett but then owlbert charges in and breaks your formation so you only have 2 in range again unless you roll a six to reform.
gigaraxgaming that charge would come In the subsequent turn and if you mean breaks cohesion the rules state that once broken you should aim to reform cohesion ASAP so you wouldn't need to
Ell Bennett but you haven't taken into the account the fact that owlbears dont care about rules and simply charge when they see fit
gigaraxgaming I have taken into account its a bit of crap made for a custom scenario which attempted to mask the blatant disregard of rules by Lewis
Ell Bennett what do you mean squeezing owlbears into flyers is perfectly reasonable.... all jokes aside they are just trying to have fun they are bound to get rules wrong... this is how casual play ends up
Jesus Lewis, i'm not sure what you were playing for the last 15 minutes but it wasn't 40K lol
This. 100% this.

I like how LewLew constantly cheats and everyone just lets him
Love the battleboys!!!!!
He should have listened to his wife.
"The Lich Guard are advancing on your wife!" NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
will smith play with his orks? :3
holy hell.. Lewis just using CPs willy nilly really triggerd me XD its ONE per phase
U can spend as much cp as u want but cant reuse stratagems in the same turn...or what did u mean?
Nico Jürgensen.. A round consists of meny phases and you can only use one cp to do a re-roll per phase, so, in the "shooting phase" you can do a cp re-roll on one dice.. And that's it for that phase.
Ah so especially the reroll one. Yeah like i said no reusing of gems... but same phase yeah
26:20 Lewis picking up the 5 because he is blind?
Hes making up for leaving an extra wound in earlier and just not telling anyone
catchampjade Except he also picked up a 5 last episode too...
Man i should properly open a law ferm with these rule mistakes that are so basically simple, Stratagems can only be used once in a phase so Lewis couldnt use the reroll 3 times in 1 shooting phase
Ell Bennett Is that not only in matched play?
yes and youd assume this is matched as they are playing a mission from the book as a basis for their custom scenerio as stated which can only be done in matched
There playing for fun if you couldn't tell
playing for FUN!
FUN means pleasure
pleasure is a sin
that means FUN IS A SIN
THIS MUST BE TERMINATED!
/heavy sarcasm
soooo... mannny.. miiiiiiiistakes...
Is it just me or was Lewis quite grumpy/disinterested/off task in this game?!
I've never played this game before and even I know these can't be the rules...
