I finished reading Dark Matter by Blake Crouch (which was a really good book) two days ago, so this video is perfect! I’m definitely going to give The Copenhagen Trilogy a read!
Oooh just in time. I got back into reading and recently I was gifted Braised Pork (which I heard about from you). The last book I read (which I highly recommend) was The Vanishing Half and I’m currently reading Ace of Spades.
I love a good bookstore! You can spend hours without even realising it. Yours sounds wonderful! It would be cool if you did decide to spend a set amount in this bookshop!😉 Perhaps you might be inclined to do a haul video afterwards..? 😘
Whenever I check up on your channel you've always posted something new, it's amazing. I have been watching for a while and love everything you put out (even though I'm upset you didn't like sprocket from animal crossing). Hope the move and new puppy is going well, thank you again for your content.
1st time comment, but I’ve read a couple of your recommendations. Just finished “West” by Carys Davies, which was beautifully written and moving. “Conversations with Friends” was excellent too, such great character work. “Outline” I didn’t quite respond to but I recognize the uniqueness of the concept and writing. 😄 enjoy your channel and book videos 💯💯
Oh I'm so glad you liked West and Convo! On Outline, I hear you; a friend of mine (whose opinion I really value!) didn't like it much either. Anything else you read lately and really liked?
@@MauveASMR re: Outline. It’s very unique , no doubt. It’s one of those books where I admire the voice/writing more than I was connected to it.:) recent reads - “Girl With a Pearl Earring” is a masterwork . So simple but so engrossing. “The Old Man and The Sea” - gripping and poignant, also so simple. “Dune”, read it in anticipation of the film and it’s an awesome scifi epic 🔥. Oh and I also ordered “Fingersmith” , will read that soon 💯😄but I’m looking for leaner novella type books at the moment 📚. Thanks for the reply 🙏🏻💯
@@aridassa7458 Hemingway! See in year 7 (maybe 6th grade in US) we had to read the old man and the sea and I absolutely detested it, just because it was so boring and generally such a terrible book for tweens… I’m a bit older now and re-read it while researching a lot about Hemingway and his life philosophy and it really blew me away at how symbolic and moving it is. - it really is such a hopeful book that I think about from time to time :)
I love a good book and can always use a good book recommendation.
This is my favorite kind of video that you make :)
So glad you enjoy 🤗
Always insightful. I have a used bookshop on Cape Cod, so it's nice to see what people actually like as it pertains to contemporary writers.
Oh that's amazing!
Girl, I’ve been waiting for a book asmr video from you! Super excited!!
