Gerald Green is one of my favorite players in the league not only because of his highlight dunks but because of who he is and how he plays the game. First off, his story is truly amazing, bouncing around the league, then bouncing in and out of the league and making a come back to have a career season last year with the Phoenix Suns and doing it all with 9 fingers. He plays smart, if you really watch the tape on Gerald Green he is one fantastic player! Go Air Gerald Go! #Suns #GeraldGreen

I don't think people really care much about the dunk contest anymore. Its always a letdown now. You know its bad when people are more excited for the 3 point contest. Granted, this probably is the most anticipated 3 point contest in recent history, but still... no one was ever more excited about it than the dunk contest. My expectations are low. The stars don't do it anymore.

People always complain "the stars aren't in it".
A. We need the best dunkers not necessarily the stars.
B. The dunk contest gets them in the first couple years in the league, before they are really appreciated. Even Kobe wasn't a star when he did it. Vince was a rookie. So were Francis and McGrady with no accolades.
C. Guys always look back years later and say "that's when the dunk contest was great". It is still happening.
D. Every year Magic Johnson says "the dunk contest is back".
E. This year's will be fine. Though I'm am only in favor of LaVine and Oladipo. Thought DeAndre and Wiggins should have been there.
F. I'm worried that the NBA is heavily favoring Giannis for international publicity reasons.
