While interesting to see the notes/letters $100 is very steep. As for the rest there are many good books on the history origins with plenty of detail that can be had for $10 or free at the library and if you want a copy of 1st edition DnD you can find it on the internet. I’m really trying to figure out why this isn’t $30 or $40

Yeah, it's a hefty price tag alright. I do think it packs a ton of content (and the layout and quality are top notch), but unless you're a hardcore fan you can definitely do without.

Why did Wotc censor so much content in this book, including cover art ... not going to pay 100 bucks for a cencored scan & print ...

Will not touch it with a 10 ft pole due to WOTC.

Fair enough. A lot of people still have a lot of resentment towards WotC (which is definitely understandable after what happened with the OGL).

@@DnD_Fanatics The OGL is a minor part, the bigger issue is their treatment/disrespect of the originators/creators of the game, original materials and people in the hobby.

I am sad that d&d has been infiltrated by people who hate and want to change it... sad

I won’t buy it from WotC. If I ever get it it would be second hand.
I’m really not happy about the way WotC is trying to disrespect the founders of D&D in the forward I believe from what I’ve heard.
No respect for WotC. I wish someone else made the book.
