I think it isn't a problem because they sell the exact same fan as a 12V version. And it look absolutely identical down to the PCB. So maybe it's just a relabeled 12V version.

You helped me a lot, I want to do the same thing with my laptop cooling base using a 12v PS to run the 5v fan. Just a test ofcourse
I love this video. Other overvolting videos is just going mad and keep increasing the voltage until the fan died.
Seems it would run at 12v quite well I wonder how much the chamber temperature would affect the lifespan at 12v
