That's a great collection of matchbox cars. I've recently been collecting the old matchbox that I had as child and I managed to fill a speedfast collectors case I have uploaded on my channel, some of the cars you have there are the same models I have recently bought. Thank you for sharing this video.
I’m a little older, my matchbox collection was from the early 1960s. I remember they were sold at Rexall drugstores. They were all in those blue and yellow “ matchboxes” up on a display rack. They were all numbered and listed in a little catalog which I used to drool over. My mother used to stop at the drugstore and pick me up one when she got off her shift as a telephone switchboard operator. I think most were around a dollar at the time. They’re quite valuable now, especially the older ones. I lost about half of them over the years.
When I visited my Grandmother I was allowed to play with the two full cases of early 1960's Matchbox cars that had belonged to my Uncle. I wasn't even allowed to take them outside, and I felt lucky to be allowed to play with them. He later gave them to his own son who destroyed and lost them all.
@@gumrubberfilms8704 oh geez! There’s a channel on RUclips “ Marty’s matchbox makeovers” , he completely restores them. Does an amazing job, it’s fun to watch. I believe he’s in Australia. I just discovered your channel so I’ve been binge watching, that’s why I made so many comments. I like these small channels, plus I’m not too far from you in Massachusetts so a lot of the places you and your wife go are places I could possibly visit some day.
@@jerrys9226 I love Marty's Matchbox Makeovers! He hasn't been posting much lately though, I wonder why? I also watch a fun channel that races Matchbox cars called 3D Botmaker. It's pretty fun and entertaining.
Planet Scout!!!! Now I know! My favorite from when I was little. Thank you!
Isn't it a cool little vehicle? It's still a favorite of mine.
I had many similar cars of the same.

I had one of these growing up. Except it was a hammy down from my brother who got it in the 70s. It was just like this one!
I wish i had managed to hold on to more toys from my childhood, but I'm glad i at least have these.
Detroit used all black station wagons that doubled as an ambulance. The 1960's cars had fold down seats and two folding cots and two blankets.
Thank you, I had no idea. That certainly explains the police station wagon.
Noice one
