fantastic, awesome, beautiful cars, love old cars, thank you for this video, and congratulations i feel envy of you, sorry for my english i am a peruvian friend always on line, God bless you and be safe
This is call I was recently clearing out my late grandmas attic when I found many of these old things from the late 60s and early 70s and I found out that she actually worked for Lynsey in the 80s
I used to work next to the Hoveringham Head Office and quarry here in Nottingham. I'd walk past it every day and used to love seeing their trucks all lined up. My favourite was the recovery truck, a 2 stroke diesel 8 wheeled foden. That truck had a very pleasing sound to it as it thundered down the road. Thank you for sharing this video.
I never wanted to grow up anyway ! GREAT to see all these. I still have a few from way back. My fave is No.27 (1958) Cadillac Sixty Special. Needs paint... but Now I know which colours. Cheers mate.
Lovely old cars, I still have a few of those early Matchbox from my childhood somewhere on storage. I remember the chap who used to run my local model railway store, he would always cringe when he saw how I opened the boxes with my fingers to look at the locomotives inside. He told me that the best way to open boxes so as not to damage them was to slip a letter opener, or knife (use the blunt edge) under the tab at one end of the box, then slide it up snug against the flap that's tucked into the box and gently pry the tab up that way. Saves tearing the tab or creasing the box and preserves the box in better condition for much longer. Apologies if I'm "teaching Grandma to suck eggs" here.
I have many of the Matchbox buses including the Trolleybus you show here. Trolleybuses were withdrawn in London in 1962 and replaced by the Routemaster, one of London's most loved and iconic buses, also made in two versions by Matchbox. Nice collection.
Excellent and informative video. Thanks for sharing. Incidentally just of interest, in 1956 the collection was actually 1 to 18 and in 1959 the collection was 1 to 72. I have scans of most of the original catalogues. 18:50 shows the Ford Station wagon, which was the first Matchbox Car that I ever had way back in 1963. Your collection of 1964 models is impressive. Incidentally, your model 47 Ice Cream Van was actually the 1967 livery, prior to that it was blue.
Loved the video as usual .The cars were so beautiful. Some people really don't know how lucky they are eh Dave .Keep being lucky and showing us all the great collections Geoff Liverpool 😎
Japanese tin toys---in great shape!! Some may be Linemar, Japanese, I think as well.. Great collection, in such great shape!!! My friend, protect the loose ones, they look like they are in mint condition! The Matchbox cars appear mint, so do the boxes! I really enjoyed your presentation, Enjoy your treasure!! Thanks for sharing!!! The matchbox cars had the silver colored wheels , until about 1963, then changed to black. You have many very fine models there!!!
Man you're showing most of. Matchbox cars.I have in my collection of Matchbox cars & trucks.only thing I wish I keep the boxs when I was younger.but my cars are in storage cases.I think about 40 something years old.or more
Impossible not to love them. I got my first one at age 6 in 1964. By 10 I had the tri-fold case that holds 72 cars. I put a shelf or two on my wall and displayed them for years. Still have all of them. Never letting them go. With a collection of toys you can create a very fine "happy place" for you to enjoy alone or share with others. Best wishes to you.
ToyCarCollector.com thank you. I love that they tell a story for you. It was your video that inspired me to collect more of the earlier models. I have already acquired the commer rentaset, Bedford news van, and Volkswagen caravette. I look forward to adding more!
Boxes are way harder than the cars by 100. I get an offer to buy loose cars almost everyday. Cars with boxes once in 3 months. Really good ones once a year.
I love the tiny tin vehicles! Plastic ones as well that log truck & Hertz is a Barclay Some of the others are too that mini car goes onto a Barclay car carrier some are I think are Midgetoys too AHM did HO scale is what those cars are Husky was sold at Woolworth's & Corgi bought them out to make their Corgi Junior line them Tootsietoys with the plastic wheels were made for HO scale layouts back in the 1960s the plastic wheels were commonly broken cause they were made a 1 piece! the Peardrax is actually a trolleybus
The ones in the little plastic boxes were made in Japan by AHI. I love all those mint Barclays. I have a number of them but most I find are missing some paint! The little plastic ford Falcon was made by Processed Plastic and either came on a Car Carrier truck or a plastic train that had a car carrying car. They did the Falcon, Corvair, Valiant, Tempest, and a Nash Metropolitan.
In the video you don't sound too enthusiastic about the very mint cherry condition of this find. Hope you take care of them as it would be a damn shame to have a collection like destroyed or lost to the ages. Very great collection!!
Keep in mind the cars look much better to you in on the TV than they do in hand. Just like they look way better with bright lights in your display than in a dimly lit room. i love them all and pass on most to other collectors.
These mostly look restored. It's nice that they're in such good shape now, but unfortunate in a way, they were not played with, at least not much.Sitting on a shelf in the box is NOT what toys are for. Is there a definitive time when Matchbox started doing the doors and sometimes hoods that opened? Those were the ones I liked. It saddened me to see them try to become Hot Wheels. When did they get bought up by Mattel? At that point, Matchbox pretty much ceased being real matchbox cars, and were basically just hot wheels with a different brand on them. Of course most of the wild stuff was saved for the hot wheels brand. I like details, I really never got into hot wheels. Some were neat, but just not generally my thing.
Wow.First view, and subscribed today.2019.I have most of what you showed. My trailer is pink, and the roof lost by friend..dangit.My Honda trailer has a silver Scooter. Are there sights the Companies offer, that show all the models?I have over 300-400.

you need to take more care of them my friend.
I have one of those dime store tin vehicles, a "Bond Bread" van.

my dad used to drive trolley busses in London
Those old Lesney-era Matchbox cars sure had some character to them! Probably worth a mint now with the boxes.

27:18 the blue one is a model of a Stanley Steamer
Your voice sounds like the radio character from "The Brave Little Toaster"!
I believe the little lead ones with the cases are AHI
Where did you find all these in such great condition??wow
1964....the year I was born.
Wait till you see what is coming in this week! My first really great Matchbox collection in years!
You can only do your best when finding an original box when it comes to condition considering their scarcity. You can't have everything.

Very cool collection, is the evening news van for sale ? I am origanaly from London and remember that newspaper 😉
I stopped watching when he pulled up a hecking print-out of his web-site. Did he ever actually open the box?
Lauri3000 yeah but the intro took ages
Yes- and there were some real GEMS inside!! Sorry to say some were treated like a 6 year old would! :-((
Cool
'Thames' is actually pronounced, 'Tems' (rhymes with 'Hens'). Not that anybody cares :)

nope
Toy collector you're a butt head
The first two blue ones seem to have been a VW Karmann-Ghia on the left and a Mercedes 190SL on the right
Pipe truck 8×8.
You ought to be wearing gloves.
Most matchbox collectors are butthead pricks!! They really don't appreciate what they own.
And treat them like the collector quality pieces they are!!
I have a Camaro that was the last in store forever Never made again
La boîte de la Vauxhall Victor , où se trouve une Ford Zéphyr , dommage , mais belle collection.
That’s very bad packaging. All the cars were loose inside the box hitting each other.
Who are the people

That about describes it. Got to be a spoiled brat with too much money that just buys up collections to keep deserving others from acquiring it.
