This. There are few bands out there that are able to adapt what makes their style great time and time again without losing that core essence. Every time Coheed makes a song, it screams "this is Coheed", but it never tires or feels like they are milking their sound.
Not bashing the band so pre-emptively chill, but seriously? This sounds like it came out of a “Recent, Polished, Straightforward Rock Mode” Coheed song generator. It’s great they’ve stayed RELEVANT and BELOVED but this is quite literally formulaic and cliche. Again, when you love a band, then it doesn’t even matter if it is or isn’t! Let’s just not be delusional here. Or rather, listen to other pop rock bands in this style? It’s not a diss, just reality.
