I'm really disappointed with LG (and other manufactures) and how they're not trying really hard at improving and changing their skins to adopt more of a Lollipop style with their updates.
On don't usually see any real changes until they show their updated Skin in their new Models. Sense 7 for example will be revamped with Material Deign. If they give you a full refreshed device that's a year old what will they sell you this year?
Lorenzo _L it did get updated. What I'm saying is with Android devices you usually get the software revamps with new devices. The G4 will have a updated Skin that's more in line with Material Design. But they won't update last year's device to that new skin until they try to get you to buy the New Phone (G4).
I like what LG's version of Lollipop has done on my G3. It looks and functions great. If any features were lost I haven't noticed which means I didn't use them anyway. My phone is faster, more fluid, and does have some different effects and animations which improve my enjoyment. By the way I'm glad LG didn't take on that hideous material app drawer with the big white card background. I prefer my apps floating over my wallpaper much more. Just because something is new and different doesn't necessarily make it better.
I couldn't wait for the update, so I went ahead and flashed my LG G3 with Cloudy Rom that uses Android 5. It's so much smoother and faster! I love it. :)

But they still haven't updated the g2 to that new UI. Compare this to the HTC one m7 which got sense 6 within 3 months of the release of the htc one m8

Not today, not with sense 7, not with touchwiz and neither with the GUI or Sony's xperia ui. All oems have their unique identifiers and their skins or custom OS's are part of that. Stock android is stock android. If you want a heavy dose of material design, you'll need to get a device running either stock or something very close to stock android like the Motorola devices. Folks shouldn't build up silly expectations only to start complaining thereafter!
The AT&T version of the G3 was severely neutered when it comes to the Lollipop update. Since this video uses the international version of the phone, you don't see that in the U.S. version, there's more features that were removed. Might have to do my own video showing the differences from stock.
Yesterday i updated my g3 dual, 2 important things i missed and you did not mention them. I missed Quickmemo when you slide from bottom. Also wedget in lock screen!

It was possible before the update to swipe up and to the right, from the home button to take a screen shot, which could then be edited in QuickMemo. It no longer seems possible, or is there some method of turning this back on?
Hi, you mention around time 1:25 that there is a guest/other users short cut next to the settings tab - I've got the LG G3 (with sprint) and don't have that short cut I also went to New Guest in the actual settings and couldn't find a way to add any shortcuts. Is that a sprint suppression? Thank you.

From what I know Lollipop should have encryption enabled automatically. However, after performing the update on my phone it still shows an option to encrypt. How do I know if the auto encryption was enabled?

My USA (AT&T) D850 version has even less changes than this to lollipop! The only noticeable changes are the hideous home buttons, recent apps menu, and the significantly improved battery life. Really, LG!? My old iPhone 4 is still receiving major UI changes!

Well, i installed lollipop on my g3 (D855) and I'm really happy. But I installed the v20h version, a stock rom that solve the bugs and the battery problems, if you are going to install lollipop, better use this one, it really improves the device. But I would advice you to wipe factory reset after installing it.

My notification hasn't been showing up since i updated my g3 to lollipop. I tried uninstalling the apps that i need and re-install it again but my playstore just kept on loading. I've tried to disable it and clear cache but still nothing. Help please!!

As someone who just bought a G3 a few weeks ago, I am super disappointed with this update. I was so envious of AT&T and Sprint users who have 5.0, but after seeing this, I couldn't care less about this update anymore.
Since my husband's G3 updated, it's had MAJOR issues! Messaging sucks, dropped calls/poor signal, overheating... Nothing at all was wrong with the phone before the update! Should have left it as it was!
This is why I'm sticking with Motorola phones, they are getting updates in a timely manner, no BS skins, launchers, etc.. the Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen was the best $180 I ever spent on a phone.
When I pull down the notifications on my g3 I don't have the guess mode feature. Mine is with AT&T. Is anyone else having a problem with that or is it just me?

Big Tam get the g3. i got it a week ago. it's amazing. every device will eventually over heat if you keep playing games on it for a few good hours or even if you use it continuously for a few hours. the screen uses most of the power of the phone. that's why it heats up a bit. the phone is beautiful over all.
Larry Sizzle What do you think of the screen brightness? Many users have reported difficulties in using the phone in direct sunlight. Is there any lag when switching between apps?
I just got the update yesterday from T-mobile. Same crap like the video tells you nothing has changed. Just some minor cosmetics adjustments here and there. Im disappointed with LG even though i have had quite a few LG phones like the G3, G2, F6, F90 and the F60. I guess im gonna swith to the Samsung S6 Edge.
*BROKEN* So the update was finally released for tmobile and i just finished updating a few hours ago. I was excited for the multi user option however it has not come with this update. Unless i am missing something. If somebody has a solution besides rooting please let me know
That notification isuue really sucks. LG certainly don't want to make things run smoothly. How can this be better than the oneplusone? And this is more expensive.

That's a really good point. I'll be interested to see Sense 7, the next version of TouchWiz, and other OEM skins with the 2015 flagships.

I just downloaded android 5.0.1 to my LG G3 from Tmobile off my pc and so far so good im impressed with the update. Runs smoothly
