- Second video walking through the content of my pulka & hiking gear choices I made for my solo snowshoe-pulka hike on the Arctic Circle Trail upcoming March 2023.
This video discusses my glove choices and more specifically reviews the Hestra Army Leather Expedition Mitt, their top cold weather glove for Arctic climates.
Sharing this in part to give back after having found a lot of info online, in part because there is less info on some of my my gear choices, and finally looking forward to comments/suggestions.
I will post a few other videos (clothing, gear, ...), and plan to review all gear choices after the hike in early April 2023.
Must be a slightly wide-angle lens -- those mittens look gigantic when you hold them up. :)
Thanks for the thoughtful vid.
Arctic...look how native does it, FUR !
Absolutely agree that fur remains incredibly useful, see my sleep system video where I use reindeer pelts as a mattress!
@@arcticperegrinations Since you were talking about modern gloves, why/if didn't you look 8000m gloves ? You cant go wrong going with Inuit...
Thank you so much for your explanations. I was hiking in sweeden this January and experienced -33 degree. Always cold hands. So I found Hastra too to be prepared next year in Finnland.
Please do a video about the gear now that you've finished it (when you get the chance)!
That idea to extend the hilleberg peg out points so you could attach guylines to the same ice screw is great. Will definitely be stealing that!
My pleasure, I've just uploaded a video specifically addressing how I will stake out the tent when I go back newt March!
