David my Duude.. Just noticed that web tat on your arm while you were handling that mangrove by the stream,.,. execellent .. I don't recall seeiing any ink on you from other videos.. congrats ..
Thanks Randy! I just recently did it, and it’s far from done. The web it’s self needs a few more sessions and then it’s supposed to be part of an entire sleeve.
Well done! There are quite many species - even I sometimes have trouble recognizing exactly which civet it is in the field. I often have to confirm later after online research.
Nice insects and Boiga diversity. The Hagen’s pit viper looked very large. I a sure that many more mammals are quietly watching you, they just remain hidden.
Oh absolutely, my friends and I often wonder about this while herping. Trying to guess what percentage of animals in our direct vicinity we actually spot. My guess is that we miss about 50% or more.
Awesome I really enjoy your posts and that you show all sorts of animals not just reptiles. that sevit cat was supper cool and I would of peted it as well.
Greetings from the US. Another great video. I only get notifications for a couple users on here so when I had a notification for your last video, I said it's about time lol. I hope to see many more.
They actually have specialty adapted hooked teeth in their lower jaw which they use to extract the animal from the shell. I’m actually just about to post a RUclips Short showing this process, check my channel in 15-20 mins and it should be there!
I know I've said it already, but really great to have you putting up vids on the regular again!! And holy shit this one is a banger!! Getting to actually touch a wild Palm Civet!! Talk about a once in a lifetime experience!!
Thanks once again Scott! That civet encounter was insane, something certainly doubt will ever happen like this again. I see civets somewhat frequently but most of the time they’re far away and disappear in a split second before I can even turn on my camera.
Nope, I’ve actually seen a couple that were quite a lot bigger. But the large specimens are pretty rare. Most individuals are around half this size or less.
You’re welcome Mikie! Hageni aren’t common, but they’re definitely available in the hobby. Their care is virtually identical to Sumatran Pit Vipers (T. sumatranus), so definitely more difficult and sensitive than a White-lipped Pit Viper for example, but not outlandishly difficult either.
The extra large Hagens you handled behaved more like a pet than a wild viper.. gotta be surreal to have a large wild viper be that well mannered after being plucked from Her forest.. We all start off as tiny lil snakes(sperm) but as soon as we grow apendages and learn how to manipulate matter our egos get to us and we forget where we come from and need to be reminded that we all came into this world as tiny lil snakes.. irony
Some of us know better not to handle a venomous reptiles, did you see the length of fangs on that “mellow” green snake , just takes one misjudged strike dude
Indeed, but they don’t want to bite if they don’t have to. Of course there is always some level of risk, but that applies to everything in life. Have you seen the length of teeth on the average dog or cat?
You’re not the first to say that and definitely won’t be the last. But they’ve been saying this for the past decade and I’m still here. Time will tell I suppose… 🤣 Also: *you’re
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yo chandler what’s up
Good to see you uploading regularly again. Glad you are back!
Thanks Jeff!
Thanks for another amazing video David. Can't wait to see your herping video in Japan!
You’re very welcome!
Forrest Gallante will swear that mammal was a Thylacine 🧐🤣
I think imma have to change the thumbnail actually… a lot of thylacine hype these days 🤣
stop why did I see it and immediately think “thylacine” 😂😂
After watching his video on the 10 deadliest snakes in the world, I’m sure he‘d let a banded palm civet pass for a thylacine. 😅
Nice T. hageni. As someone from Europe, I just love the green vipers! 💚
The Hagens is so awesome, what a chill snake! Greetings from Germany!
It really is! Thanks!
Glad to hear about different snakes and insects instead of the same old pet snakes etc.
Thanks!
Another fantastic video , David I am blown away at your knowledge of all the animals & reptiles you find . Great job again 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!
Was great , like all of the other videos , thanks for posting them 😊
It’s called Google Image man…

Awesome
At 3:20 the way that Civet Cat was holding onto that tree with his front paws was so cute. What did his fur feel like when you pet him?
Pretty much like a house cat, but a little less soft.
Hello david! Watching again from philippines!
Thanks again Juan!
Glad to see you posting again David!
Thanks Floyd!
I'm surprised I was able to ID that civet as a civet at first sight. I didn't know the specific species but knew it was a civet. 😮😅❤

Always great video glad your back David

This particular episode reminded me of the music video by Talk Talk, "Life's what you make it"
I’ll have to check it out!
Awesome I really enjoy your posts and that you show all sorts of animals not just reptiles. that sevit cat was supper cool and I would of peted it as well.

3:21 that's a banded civet (hemigalus derbyanus)
Yes…? I very clearly stated that in the video 😂
Great video
Thank you Jennifer!

Thanks! Got new videos coming in the next weeks and something REALLY exciting in a month or so.
The Slug Snake, feed on snails, shell and all or do they get the snail out of its shell somehow?
They actually have specialty adapted hooked teeth in their lower jaw which they use to extract the animal from the shell. I’m actually just about to post a RUclips Short showing this process, check my channel in 15-20 mins and it should be there!

What?
Thanks David what a lovely Hagens pit viper, was that the largest Hangens that you have come across?.I look forward to the next film.
Nope, I’ve actually seen a couple that were quite a lot bigger. But the large specimens are pretty rare. Most individuals are around half this size or less.
Thank you for the video David!
The Hagens Pitvipers, are they common in the pet trade? How are they to keep? Are they hardy?
You’re welcome Mikie! Hageni aren’t common, but they’re definitely available in the hobby. Their care is virtually identical to Sumatran Pit Vipers (T. sumatranus), so definitely more difficult and sensitive than a White-lipped Pit Viper for example, but not outlandishly difficult either.
The way you just manhandled the viper😭
What do you mean? I was being as gentle as I possibly could.
13:08 🤣☠️
Bro is a menace ☠️🤣
Oh yeah btw, did you still look for a camera man Chandler ?
The thialand snake man
Sweet I was just watching the episode where your buddy got bit by the white lips Viper or whatever can I get a double bonus
What does double bonus mean?
wow what a stick insect?
Aw man, that t shirt kicks ass. Where'd ya get it?
I made it, it’s my merch! Available on the shop tab of my channel or on Amazon be just searching “DAVIDSFEED”.
Petting a civet, in the wild… crazy.
I thought so too!

Haha indeed!
Is this in Thailand somewhere?
Oh, I hear ya, southern Thailand. The civet footage was great. I can't believe it came so close.
Indeed. I’m remote areas where humans aren’t often seen wild animals often tend to be less shy.
