Awesome review of The Shadow, Chris. First Johnny Mnemonic, and now Shadow. Your on a roll! I have a Shadow, and I can honestly say, people over for pinball always give it a glance over the first time they see it. The mediocre art and bad license do it no favors. Once they launch that first ball from the gun handle and understand how the diverters work, they love Shadow. Keep up the great work Chris. Dying to see the stories you have of your Banzai Run.
Just bought myself a Shadow and I think it's a great machine! The artwork is not bad, it has great music, great graphics and it's just a really fast and challenging game! I would recommend it to everyone! :D
So strange. I have no interest in pinball, but i still love these videos. Maybe it's the collector vein in me. Quality production, and alot of nice info. Great video dude!
@SkippyChurch The way to prevent travel to the sides is to check the "four coil stops" under the divertors. They tend to get mushroomed down and that creates an extreme travel from left to right. When I rebuilt them all, I purchased new coil-stops and that seemed to keep them just a tiny bit away from the side of the ramp ( I had to bend the ramp a tiny bit out as well). Take care.
Love the video Chris! I found one at an arcade once and It was Insane. But I managed to get 15 million so yeah.... This is 12 years to late isn't it......
I remember there was going to be a video game based on this movie one time but it got cancelled after the film didn't do well. Weird that the pinball got a full release but it looks like fun.
I got the shadow pinball machine for Christmas wen I was in like 4th grade or something. It's fun and that was like four years ago so I don't really play it anymore. I got to the final battle but COULNT BEAT IT!!!!!!! Sometimes at the end of the game cows go across the screen? I've never seen the movie so I dnt no wat that means.
i freakin loved this pinball game !!! it was just really great to play . i never found it too difficult, but then again im not epic at these games at all. the movie was awesome too. i have no idea why alec baldwin gets so much bad press regarding his acting capabilities in this movie, but i thought everything about the film was brilliant. loved the dagger. nice vid chris, thanks for uppin.
change your incandescent bulbs to leds this will stop that problem at 4.50 im doin that to mine machines takes the heat away big difference and the price aint bad i found a place on the internet that sells them i got them for 27 cents each but you have to buy 100 or more
Where did you find the decals for the back box? Do you know the part number for the motor on the mini playfield? Thanks -- I paid $1500, I also have to do the GI fix..bummer
Chris that was a great video and i was unaware of a Shadow pinball game and seeing as i enjoyed the movie and love the ideal of this pulp hero i would love to play this pin someday.
Chris, can you tell me how you limit the travel of the phurba diverters? At the moment, my ramps are PERFECT. no weilding, no cracks... but, I want to make sure my diverters don't crash into the ramp sides. What did you do to stop this travel?
I can't figure out who would want to give you thumbs down on these great vids, Chris? That's like if I flipped the bird towards the Grand Canyon. Just doesn't make sense. Becoming more of a pin-head every day. Thanks spida1! btw- Had Devil's Crush waitin' on me in the mailbox this morning. ;)
I do see what everyone is saying about the artwork style but as an artist myself I LOVE the period style artwork. just wanted to ask what websites do you go to for finding pinball machines and or replacement parts?
As always an awesome review :-) Makes me wish i had the cash and space to go out and buy my own pinball machines. :-) Still working on my Mame Machine. Got an old laptop with a bad screen, and spare 19in monitor i can use in a mini tabletop cab ;-)
@MrSilverballmania I am not a big fan of LEDs. But, I know a lot of people who have gone that route...so it's definitely something to look in to. :) Thanks for watching!!
my brother owns this machine, well one of them anyway :) - my high score was just under 900 mil with a broken sanctum (no vaccum = bad drops ;( ) gotta say this is one of the best pinballs out there on par with Guns n Roses and Indiana Jones!
Lucky, even though I had 3 deals in my life with pinball, two machines for free, but I had to get rid of them, and one a few weeks ago I could have gotten for $1, but I didn't hear about it until it was to late.
Honestly...I don't really clear-coat too much. You know? But, it definitely helps preserve the older playfields. They are definitely slippery and fast at first. But, they will end up wearing in (my Taxi now plays a little slower, ha ha). :)
@nlafavore Ended up costing me about 750 by the time I was done restoring it. So, still a hell of a deal. Doesn't mean I'll be keeping it for that reason.......but it was a great deal (and I normally don't get the great deals). :)
@bosnia91 Ha ha. Years of working on these games. I couldn't just describe it in a "RUclips" box. You know? Go online and definitely do research, you'll find a ton of nutty collectors like me who can help out. Hee he. :) :)
@Phraseblaster Thanks my friend! Actually, yes. I believe mine had the remains of a Road Show decal (it was also blue underneath, so it makes sense). Ha ha. Yay for recycling. :) Thanks!!
@bosnia91 Go to Marvin3m dot com and check out the pinball repair manuals. Choose the year / era of game you are interested in. That will give you an idea of common things that often go wrong.
How bout u spida1a? Do cows ever go across the screen at the end of the game? Well it happens like once every thirty times u play or something. So u hav to play it alot to see it and u have like 20 pinball machines from what I've seen on ur vids. So I doubt u play the shadow much
The shadow black glass was better than.. Gold wings. Raven.. And Genesis. Those characters look like rejects from Rocky horror picture show. That's GOTTLIEB PINBALL just phoning it in and not giving a shit. oh I mean PREMIER..
Out of those 3, at least Genesis has good playfield art and gameplay. As soon as Gottlieb was bought by Premier, their quality really went down with only a few hidden gems.
why do you buy pinball machines its cheaper to play them the only thing i think why is tobecome champions well l'll tell you my score will never beat my scoreof 9.7bill in 9.45 hours so rest asured dont bother i was born with it
I dont really know what to say other than awesome, all of your videos are so informative and they just entertain me so much. Thanks i guess. :)
Awesome!! Thanks for watching!
Picking one up tomorrow one of best games EVER
My fave game. So jealous you got this so many years ago for so cheap! Hope you're enjoying it, brotha!

I would recommend it to everyone! :D
I just got one of these. I've had it a few days..... and you are right..... JUST CALM DOWN!
So strange. I have no interest in pinball, but i still love these videos. Maybe it's the collector vein in me. Quality production, and alot of nice info.
Great video dude!
Thank You Chris for another great review!! Can't wait till the next one..
I love these. Your collection is truly awe-striking, Chris. Keep up the good work!
@valgas17 I agree. Ha ha. People get down on it WAY too much. :)
Thanks for watching!
love your pinball series. watching them all
I remember that I played some pinball machine as a kid which had the gun ''plunger'' thing. I wonder if it was The Shadow.
@SkippyChurch The way to prevent travel to the sides is to check the "four coil stops" under the divertors. They tend to get mushroomed down and that creates an extreme travel from left to right. i like the artwork. reminds me of old movie posters.
@nlafavore Those are in the project stages so. They currently are nonworking. :)
Ahhh great childhood memories. I loved The Shadow pinball machine. Thanks for uploading!
Wow, another pinball video, just like that! Keep 'em comin'!
Thanks for sharing!!! And for watching.
@knasbollicus Thank you for watching! :)
I was never really much into pinball but I find these videos interesting none the less. How many pinball machines do you have total?
I got the shadow pinball machine for Christmas wen I was in like 4th grade or something. It's fun and that was like four years ago so I don't really play it anymore. I got to the final battle but COULNT BEAT IT!!!!!!! Sometimes at the end of the game cows go across the screen? I've never seen the movie so I dnt no wat that means.
The Final Battle is tough to complete.
Now that's what I'm talking about.
Love your reviews Chris, keep it up!
i freakin loved this pinball game !!! it was just really great to play .
i never found it too difficult, but then again im not epic at these games at all.

This video is really informative. I've nver seen the movie The Shadow, is it based on the really old radio drama play of the same name?
@sae887 Who said it was bad?
@Corad4 Thanks bud. I'm glad you liked it. Everything was shot at one time so....nothing I can do about the content. You know?
Thanks.
As always an awesome review :-) Makes me wish i had the cash and space to go out and buy my own pinball machines. :-) Still working on my Mame Machine. Got an old laptop with a bad screen, and spare 19in monitor i can use in a mini tabletop cab ;-)

Thanks for watching!!
@canceresbunny Thanks my friend. I usually get a couple thumbs down (yup....just checked, got one already). ha ha! :)
@spida1a I should say you better keep it. 450 bucks? I don't think you're gettin' a better deal than that! Lucky guy!
$450 ?! NICE!
@kornstory Thanks Kornstory! I appreciate it. :)
Yup, sure is. :)
@spida1a Does that mean you're working on fixing them? How long have you been fixing them?
like i said everytime i really like your job Chris :o)
my brother owns this machine, well one of them anyway :) - my high score was just under 900 mil with a broken sanctum (no vaccum = bad drops ;( ) gotta say this is one of the best pinballs out there on par with Guns n Roses and Indiana Jones!
Chris, do you feel that clearcoating older games makes then too quick and screws up the gameplay? Thanks
Very interesting review, thanks =)
@TheGamerFromMars Tiz am. :)
Lucky, even though I had 3 deals in my life with pinball, two machines for free, but I had to get rid of them, and one a few weeks ago I could have gotten for $1, but I didn't hear about it until it was to late.
Cool machine, man!
You seen the movie?
I love this games trans light. And this game it's self
@spida1a how do you afford all these pinball machines? i only have one
@sae887 Ha, yes. I believe that was Tim Currey doing the voice for it too right? Ha ha Thanks for watching!
Honestly...I don't really clear-coat too much. You know? But, it definitely helps preserve the older playfields. They are definitely slippery and fast at first. But, they will end up wearing in (my Taxi now plays a little slower, ha ha). :)
Another great and informative review :} I watched "The Shadow" few years ago,i cant even remember if i liked it,or not :}
@TheSwedishGamer It's the Shadow soundtrack / pinball music. I always thought it was a pretty nice little soundtrack. :)
@sae887 Yes, I have seen it before. I love the Williams cows! ! :)
Nice. I think I played this one in my home country of Puerto Rico!
@nlafavore Ended up costing me about 750 by the time I was done restoring it. So, still a hell of a deal. Doesn't mean I'll be keeping it for that reason.......but it was a great deal (and I normally don't get the great deals). :)
Do you still have Pin*bot and Banzai Run? 'Cause I don't see them in the basement and you didn't mention them at your 2008 pinball party.
Yet another I've never heard of. Great review! Total steal, getting that one for $450!!
@bosnia91 Ha ha. Years of working on these games. I couldn't just describe it in a "RUclips" box. You know? Go online and definitely do research, you'll find a ton of nutty collectors like me who can help out. Hee he. :) :)
@spida1a OK, well, I know Pin*bot's in another room in the house, but I'm not sure about Banzai Run.
@SavageBroadcast Yes, I have seen the movie. I actually kind of liked it (none of my friends did...ha ha). :)
Yeah, you tell 'em to calm down, Chris! It's great seeing Alec Baldwin on that backglass!
How many Pinball machines do you own?
@Phraseblaster Thanks my friend! Actually, yes. I believe mine had the remains of a Road Show decal (it was also blue underneath, so it makes sense). Ha ha. Yay for recycling. :)
Thanks!!
@bosnia91 Go to Marvin3m dot com and check out the pinball repair manuals. Choose the year / era of game you are interested in. That will give you an idea of common things that often go wrong.
Do you have Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure?
Anyone who thinks this game has the worst artwork of any pin has never seen or played 'Mary Shelley's Frankenstein' by Sega.
Why cry about the translite? There are alternate translites available
@jbdohm Ha ha. Seriously! I'm so tired of hearing about the translite. :)
Thanks for watching.
How bout u spida1a? Do cows ever go across the screen at the end of the game? Well it happens like once every thirty times u play or something. So u hav to play it alot to see it and u have like 20 pinball machines from what I've seen on ur vids. So I doubt u play the shadow much
Have ever discovered laugh mode on the shadow? Sorry I'm asking alot. It's cool.... Coward, chicken, sissy, c'mon play again! Lol
The artwork is really bad... The game does look pretty fun though.

The shadow black glass was better than..

I saw this movie back in the day...yeahhh it's very forgettable. Nice machine though.
