      Well practice makes perfect and Iq isnt set in stone

  • @andrefmartin
    @andrefmartin 5 лет назад +62

    it is specially practical when the numbers are close to their base reference. If the rule is valid, it should be applicable to any pairs of numbers (I guess both under the SAME base, although this premise was not said). So I tried it to calculate, for instance, 54 x 72. It does work, but it requires an additional step: the exceeding part of the left product part over the numbers of zeros of the base, must be added to the rigth sum part to result into the right answer!

    • @StarrySkies
      @StarrySkies 2 года назад +24

      72 -28
      54 -46
      __________
      26 | 1288
      +12 | 88(moving 12 to the other side)
      38 | 88
      __________
      =3888
      __________
      ur right :D
      though it would be more practical to multiply normally, this would work well for numbers closer to the base

    • @tonybarfridge4369
      @tonybarfridge4369 2 года назад +4

      You could use base 50, then 50^2= 2500, devs 4x22=88, 25/88+ (22+4)/2=13, 25+13=38, ans=3888. The sum of the deviations is divided by 2 because 50 is half of 100. Or 72x54=72x50=3600, +4x72 (288). Alternately 63^2-9^2 -- the median is 63, deviation 9. 63^2= (60^2+6x3x2x10+3^2)=3600+360+9=3969; -9^2 (81)=3888. Also 72x54=70x50+4x72+2x54-2x4

    Hi
    I converted all the steps of the video in an equation i.e. a×b=(a+(b-B))B+((a-B)(b-B)) in this *a* and b are 2 no. to be multiplied and *B* is the base
    But there are some rulers for this mutliplication trick that are:-
    1) if both no. are positive or negative then take positive base
    2)if one is of them is negative then take negative base....
    *IMPORTANT* for finding base:
    456×631
    *First of all remove the ones and tens digits then we will left with 400 and 600.
    *Now see what is the difference these two no. i.e. 600-400=200
    *Now divide difference i.e. 200 into 2 equal parts which are 100 and 100
    *Now either add 100 to smallest no. or subtract 100 from largest no and the answer will be your base i.e. 400+100= 500 or 600-100=500
    So, 500 is the base.
    Now,lets multiply 456×631
    base= 500
    Now,
    =(a+(b-B))B+((a-B)(b-B))
    =(456+(631-500))500+((456-500)(631-500))
    =(456+131)500+(-44×131)
    =587×500+(-5764)
    =293500-5764
    =287736
    456×631=287736
    Thank you

      63 -7
      90 +20
      -----------
      83|-140
      70*83 = 5810
      5810-140 = 5670
