I very much appreciated this discussion about the relationship between President Carter and Admiral Rickover. I was a naval nuclear officer during the Carter presidency and I have my own stories about both of them. I look forward to reading the book.

Thank you for filling in some of the details of the Carter, Rickover friendship, Not a farmer who became a Naval Officer, nor a Naval Officer who became a President, but a great, honest man who always gave the country his best.

President Carter was a nuclear engineer on submarines. As you said only submariner I understood how President Carter respect Admiral Rickover all submariners still respect the father of the nuclear navy.

Admiral Rickover was similar to Admiral King. Both thought the Press were stupid and annoying. Neither Admiral suffered fools.
