Thomas, we wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year from the UK. Thank you for all your videos throughout the year. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tom is the man! Look how all those animals respond to him. They all know and recognize his kindness. This video was quite a gift; a glimpse into the day to day of a living master of his craft, complete with humor, then some of his finest work.
Thank you for sharing a day in the life you are a treasure for everyone who loves antique and vintage furniture Wishing you the finest of holiday seasons.
The day begins with coffee (always). Tom, the first five minutes was the best video ever!! I love all your little friends (where were the llamas)? My boys & I had lots of animals when they were growing up. There were always stray kitties coming to live (at one point there were 13 because - yep, kittens). We were blessed with two sheep, Becky & Josh; and a multitude of bunnies. Josh & Becky brought up the boys to be strong & thoughtful young men and loving caregivers. Nothing speaks love like hustling fresh water out on a crisp New England winter morning & breaking the ice off last night's trough water. And this happens EVERY DAY as you well know. But, my boys were amazing & dedicated. Tom was just old enough to do a mean job helping to build them their sheep cote. He was rewarded by creating a reasonably high roof from which he could leap off & fly through the air. Definitely worth the effort for a seven-year-old. It was a hard life, a good life. Later on, Snickers (Golden) came into our lives & rescued us. We all loved & owed him soooo much & he surely saved Colin's life. Boys & a dog, you know... Oh, did you restore a beautiful fractured clock?? I'm sorry, I was lost in nostalgia! PS-I am absolutely 'stealing' the Waldo idea. Why have I never thought of this??? Perfect! 🥰
Loved the beginning!! You are so kind and loving to your animal friends! (Just as you are to the lovely antiques!) I wish you did an episode where you remove paint from an item. I know that is more refinishing than restoring, but many of us have or run across items that someone painted and I don't trust a lot of the junky RUclips videos where they "flip" stuff...I trust you though!
Thank you Tom for sharing a glimpse from your life and introducing us part of your family. You are not just a great master but also a very kind soul. Thank you also for teaching us all the details about restoring and also wood working. I feel very happy when you share new videos. Wish you all the best for you and all of your family. Greetings and lots of loves to you from Cappadocia, Turkiye.
Season's Greetings from Ontario Canada. I miss my chickens! Thanks for sharing your life and your love of fine furniture with all of us voyeurs, and for taking the time to record, edit and post so many wonderful videos over the years.
I say "thank you girls" every time I leave the chicken house with eggs & have cats who help with the chores. You have a lovely flock! Merry Christmas to you & yours🎄
Merry Christmas Tom. As far as I know, you are the best antique restorer in America. And one of the first people ever to use RUclips to demonstrate your skills so long ago. Loved seeing a peek into your home life after watching every single one of your videos. Thank you for all the interesting problem-solving and techniques you have used to entertain me for so many hours.
Thomas, thank you very much for many hours of very enjoyable viewing in 2024, and I hope for many more in 2025. I now know what is in the mugs you bring into your workshop. I was tossing up between tea or coffee, so thanks for showing us. Nice to see you interacting with your two and four-legged friends as well as sharing scenes of your Maine property. Some years ago my cat Olivia, soon to be sixteen, leapt off the top of my kit-built long-case clock which stood in my previous townhome's entrance hallway in the elegant curveof the staircase. The clock fell forward against the opposite wall, breaking the pediment above the clock face door as well as the glass of that door. I wish that I knew your channel back then when repairing the cracked pediment as the scars are still visible, though the clock still ticks happily now in my present home. I wind its eight-day mechanism every Sunday by pulling the chain for the pendulum.
Quite a busy day Tom! Glad you have the energy and time to work on restoring furniture after your chores are finished. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours 🎄🎉
Thank you for revisiting this amazing repair. I never tire of seeing you work and I learn so much. Wishing you and your family a happy christmas and a peaceful new year.
A Bulleit Rye drinker. A man after my own heart. This was a great video. I'm really enjoying the little bit of variety you've been putting into your recent videos. Great way to start the week. 🙂
Wishing you and your family, a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. You are truly a wonderful teacher, which I appreciate you immensely.
Lovely to see a bit of your life outside the workshop! Love the chickens (especially Slinky! (how did she get that name;) and the beautiful Tortie, Veronica! Looks like she enjoys being inside out of the cold. I remember this clock, and it was a real challenge; just getting inside of it was a chore. Happy Christmas to you and the Mrs and all the family!
We are sorry to be losing Emily from Oregon, it's wonderful to see your happiness at having her back. I'm so curious about the changes you allude to and looking forward to what comes next. All your feathered and furry friends are in good cheer, Happy Holidays Tom. Thanks for bringing us along.
Not surprised it fell. It's beautiful, but looks a bit top heavy. Nice job. My days are very similar except for the firewood part being here in Fl. Merry Christmas Tom.
Thomas, If I was American I would vote for you as president. A “Keep calm and carry on” mentality combined with a knowledge and humour is what America and the world needs. You remind me of my father, always having something going on.
Well sir, first thing is I feel I must apologize for not following your channel as well as I could have. Second thing is, anybody that takes the time to invest in pets and naming them as well as wildlife care, gets my attention, very pleased to see that. Thirdly, what an amazing restoration on that piece, it is a pleasure to watch the care and skill you demonstrate in your restorations. Fourth, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, be safe through out the season. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.
Best wishes to you, Sir, your family and Veronica, Orion, Buff, Slinky, Ru and all the other two- and four-legged beings around you. May your holidays be relaxing and the new year bring peace and health to you all. 🐔🐱
Thanks for the life scenes from the farm. I see we share the same brand coffee maker and watching your videos we share the coffee bug. I enjoyed watching the clock project again. Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year to you and your family, Tom.
Amazing restoration! Thank you for a glimpse at your daily life. Love Slinky, Buff, Ru, Veronica, and Orion. Waldo looks like a shady character, though. 🙂
Whoever built the original clock must have studied architecture and/or building design as the classic Greek/Roman references in the design are beautifully proportioned and coordinated. You saved a really nice piece, I’m sure it was a sad day when it fell over.
I suppose there is a damaged piece out there somewhere that is hopeless and beyond your abilities to repair, but this clock wasn't it despite kinda looking like it at first. If it had been my project I "might" have attempted it but I could never have made it look "Pretty Good"!!!! So, my compliments on yet another masterful restoration. I liked seeing your digs, thanks for that ... one thing we have in common: The same coffee maker ... lol
Merry Christmas! I discovered a while back we shared a preference for Islay scotch....then I see what is very likely a Bulleit Manhattan with Antica vermouth? Kindred spirits! Good to see the shop supervisory felines are working hard. I always feel my cat Echo is silently judging my joinery. 😊
Where is .....think its your Black Lab? Hopefully he is still OK.....Loved this early morning routine I grew up Summers on my Grandmothers working Farm .. lol Loved it all... Thanks for sharing Tom,.
It’s amazing watching you put broken pieces back together. I hope a member of your family is following your footsteps! How long did this take you to finish?
Tom, are you able to speak on the black and white symmetrical design hung on the wall at the 7.36 mark? Its so striking. As a Psychiatrist, it immediately made me think of an MRI image of the brain! Is it a print? Or a furniture filligree design you're replicating? Thanks in advance!
Сложная работа, но ты с ней справился очень хорошо. Мне доставляет большое удовольствие смотреть как ты работаешь. Это так мотивирует. Томас Счастливого Рождества и с Новым Годом!!!🎄☃️❤️
On various projects I’ve seen you work glue under a piece of veneer or in a crack with a knife or your finger or sometimes injecting it and that clearly works well but I was wondering if you ever used vibration to make the glue run deeper. I’m a dentist and we use a vibrator to get dental plaster to flow into the deepest areas of a complicated mold and it will appear to almost suction the stone mixture into the mold.
Excellent video! Do you have to worry about your kitties and any nearby wildlife? I have 10 miles of woods behind my home and coyotes, fox, and bobcat roam frequently from dusk to dawn. I won't even let my doggies back there once the sun goes down.
In my opinion, the ball shaped feet contributed to the unstableness of the tall clock. The point of contact of the feet to the floor is set back what looks like a couple of inches, making forward movement [away from a wall] much more likely. Very good work on your part to restore this fine old case.
You know, if you quit goofing off so much outside you’d have more time to pet the cats! 😉 Merry Christmas to you and yours Tom! PS: would love to see a video or three on the shop remodel.
Lest the viewers get the misapprehension Mr. Johnson just works on furniture all day! Nay, he has a lot of other things to do! Have a wonderful and restful holiday, Mr. Johnson!
I was confident you'd succeed in repairing all that damage and am certain a lot of your other viewers felt the same. All that case needs now is a clock to make it complete.
Thomas, we wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year from the UK. Thank you for all your videos throughout the year. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice to get glimpse of Ella again. Loved your channel over the years. Thanks so much.

The first part was most enjoyable-- a life well lived. The whole cast was fun to watch. Thank you Tom for sharing your Maine day with us.

Great to see Ela. I miss her quiet inspection at the end of a project. Thank you for the effort. Happy Holidays.
Loved Waldo, your "stand-in," Tom. Thanks so much for all you do to entertain us, and Happy Holidays.
Chores in the morning reminded me of my childhood on the farm. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Hi Tom. You mentioned shop renovations. What do you have planned? Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Thomas, where could one get a seringe like this. I've never seen one before.
Consider looking at KT tape; it is elastic and can apply some moderate clamping force when you can only use tape.
Orion is an incredibly cool name for a cat. :D
FELIZ NATAL E REALIZAÇÕES NO ANO NOVO! Gostei do vídeo.
