For anyone who might not know.. Be sure to stir the egg ribbons going ONLY one direction. If you got both ways, it will cause the eggs to get all hard and weird. This was a very valuable childhood lesson I had to go through..
Greeks make an egg drop soup as well. The only difference is that small meatball made of beef or chicken are used.. Lemon is used to give it some tartness.
Yesterday I just made your other chix broth soup with the soy sauce and sesame oil, where you pour in the eggs, I added celery, water chestnuts, eggroll noodles and 5 spice. I didnt even need the cornstarch, it was thick the next day and when this batch is gone, IM MAKIN ANOTHER BATCH!❤
I'm 34 my mom used to make Lipton chicken noodle soup and add eggs now like 10-15 yrs later there is a recipe on the box for egg drop soup maybe it was always there but idk it's my fav I make it every time I'm sick looks so good thank! and every time I see you make shrimp or crab I'm like damn I gotta try that 😂
That is a truly funny story. I'm guessing the recipe was _not_ always there, and your Mom has the power to affect the Universe....yup - I'm goin' with that...😁😉
Look for pyrex kitchenware - not 100% sure if they do pans but I have a pyrex oven dish and it's awesome! Also just about every household in my family have a pyrex jug, my parents' jugs are possibly as old as me & I'm 28! They last so long and can really stand up to a lot of use (as long as you don't drop them on something hard enough to smash them... a pyrex smash is a very rare occurence though!) The technical name of that type of glass is borosilicate glass, it's used in cookware because it's way more resistant to thermal shock than "normal" glass, and more impact resistant... so look if glass cookware you find is borosilicate glass 😊
You hv to have the heat either high enough or cook long enough 4 the corn starch to thicken it, that still looks like thin broth...it wont thicken if the heat doesnt get high enough....
She shows you and she states it. 🧐🤦🏻♀️ It’s literally just a box of chicken broth, a pinch of turmeric, salt to taste, 3 eggs beaten well. And you hopefully already know that if you like more spices add more spices.
Making this. I got the flu shot and covid booster. I’m aching, sore, headaches and fatigued. First time getting sick from a flu shot. This soup is perfect.
I remember taking some extra Pho into work to give to this pregnant lady See, I always brought her snacks she was pregnant and needed food, but that day I brought the Pho she just guzzled it I mean I’ve never seen someone eat Pho like tht but she just guzzled that broth she must’ve been craving it maybe? Idk if cravings in pregnant women are real, but I know I get cravings not pregnant
I thought the purpose of corn starch was to thicken it, yours looks very watery, so does it affect the flavor? Im curious because im trying to reduce my starches/carbs, i have to try it someday 🤔. Honestly i tried it today, I loved the flavor, but was curious about the cornstarch slury

Best to add the eggs last. Turn off the heat after boil and pour egg. Can also use strainer to get thinner ribbon egg.

I can never get my eggs to stick in ribbons, they end up disintegrating into tiny blips 😅 Maybe I'm pouring them too quickly
Best to add the eggs last. Turn off the heat and slow pour add it. Could also use a strainer to get ribbon eggs.
Thank you! Looks delicious! I appreciate you. Many blessings. 😊❤❤❤❤❤

“egg-uh, drop, soup”
my mom adds Korean dumplings to her egg drop soup
How come you don’t add the slurry before adding the egg?
That would have been better. I think she forgot.
This is my go-to soup when I'm sick. I'd rather egg drop soup over chicken noodle.
