One of the absolute best instructional repair videos I have ever viewed on RUclips! Finally somebody who understood the importance of creating a video with excellent focusing, lighting, keeping the camera still while filming, carefully selected close-up shots that are not blurry, great sound, easy to follow directions by Mark.
Congratulations Mark! You have created the perfect instructional repair video ! !
Sadly to say, such great repair videos are rare on RUclips.......
As a small business owner, I cannot thank you enough for this video. I spent less than 75.00 to buy new parts. Much more cost effective than buying a new mixer. Living on a small island in Alaska means I don't have access to 'repair' shops that might be available in larger cities.
Very helpful video, I appreciate how thorough and detailed the instructions were.
Mark, I repaired my mixer today thanks to you!! What a helpful video. It was so easy to follow. Bless your heart and soul for doing this. :)
Excellent how-to video! Appreciate the clear, concise directions, close up shots, and the way Mark tells you what each piece is called so that you know what to order. Parts arrived quickly, and they were high quality. Great to have our mixer working again. We'll be ordering from you from now on!
This was a comprehensive & easy to follow video that allowed me to replace the gear on my 18 year Kitchenaid! Thank you so much! Looking forward to another 18 years with this mixer!
One of the best how to videos I have seen. Well paced, well videoed and clearly explained.
This video made it so easy to fix my mixer and the parts I ordered from your company arrived in half the time stated. Great job. You will have my business in the future when needed.
You make repairing my kitchenaid mixer look very easy. Thank you for making this video. Very thorough and very easy to follow.
Watching this video gave me the confidence to try fixing my own mixer, and it worked like a charm!!!! Thank you so much for this clear, easy-to-follow tutorial!! :D
Thank you for the detailed video. It was invaluable when it came time for me to overhaul my 15 year old KitchenAid Epicurean. I ordered the parts and grease from eReplacementparts and they shipped the same day! Excellent service. My KitchenAid was back up and running, like new, in a matter of hours after the parts arrived.
Got mine back together and it works like a charm...thank you so much Mark!!! Saved me a small fortune.
Mark, Thank you for this video. It made the difference between doing the repair myself and paying a lot of money for a repair I can do myself
Mark, you are very thorough, very clear, if I had all my school teachers like you, I would've been an astronaut! thanks for the great video.
This is a perfect instructional video. Clear video, closeups as required, excellent explanations and perfect pacing. Great job, and very helpful. Thank you, Mark.
Just bought a mixer for my wife and I'm almost hoping it will break so I can come back to this video and fix it. Great stuff!
You guys are the best! Mark gives very detailed directions, and talks at the right pace so i can keep up. I grew up with 5 older brothers, and being the first little sister they made sure I had the 'basic knowledge on how do small repairs myself. So when both of my kitchen-aids broke down I found eReplacements on line, diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, then watched the video. I'm proud to say both of my mixers are up and running at 1/4 of what it would have cost me to take just one of them to a shop .eReplacements will be my go to guys from now on.
Just got done replacing the planetary on my 15 year old Pro600. The video was excellent, the only problem I had was finding a set of ring pliers small enough to remove the snap rings. Three sets later, it went smoothly, taking about 30 minutes. And I am no expert repair lady. Thanks.
thank you for the perfect instructions. And naming the parts... I was trying to order what I now know (THANKS TO YOU) to be the follower gear from the KitchenAid site and you were more helpful in identifying the parts i needed than they were.. and Now I can fix it myself.. AWESOME !!!
This video was very helpful. I was able to determine the parts I needed. I watched the video as I replaced the parts. My mixer sounds so good! Thank you for excellent instructions!
This was very helpful, my father in law and I spent Sunday afternoon replacing the worn out parts. We saved a lot of money. Thank you very much
I bought my KitchenAid Pro 600 stand mixer last week, and just wanted to open it up and make sure that it had a metal gear housing. It was extremely simple to do thanks to this video, which is by far one of the most clearly spoken and clearly illustrated how-to videos that I have ever watched! If I ever need to replace the gears, which I hope doesn't happen to me as it has for many others, I will not have any fear in taking on the project myself, with your video as my guide . Thank you, Mark!!!
Very nice video. Straight to business and no noise or waste of time. Thumbs up. Also it looks like all his shafts are properly greased.
Thank you so much!! The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I fixed my mixer and saved a ton of money... many thanks!
This is the best video I have seen. It is so clear and to the point..... no wasted time!
Thank you for your very thorough explanation of the parts and how to reassemble! I feel very proud of myself for fixing the mixer rather than paying someone else to do it.
Some of the most excellent video and instructions I have seen on RUclips
Thanks, I was making a cake with my wife and our Kitchenaid Pro 550 HD just stoped... this is the first video I found looking for help and gave me a LOT of hope.
Thanks
This video made it so easy to fix my mixer and the parts I ordered from amazon. Great job.
This is awesome! my problem was a bit of leaking grease...just enough to know it was leaking. Had it in storage too long and leaking no doubt due to lack of use. The video was extremely useful and I'll have this done in a snap. Just waiting on my new grease to arrive! Thank you for sharing!
When my Kitchenaid 600 Mixer suddenly died I thought it was the end of the world and started trying to figure out out how I would ever afford either the repair bill or purchasing a new one! I decided to search online for ideas on what might be wrong with it and landed on your video. I am now proud to say that my mixer is back in one piece and working beautifully. Your instructions were clear and easy to follow. I can't thank you enough!!!
Omg! This was so helpful!!! I have had a kitchenaid mixer sitting in my bakery broken for almost 1 1/2 yrs and finally got fed up with my dad about just letting it sit there. I hope u guys sell the replacement parts cause I'm going straight to ur website to purchase what I need. Thanks a million. Just in time for christmas too! ^_^
Fantastic video Mark. Where I worked they where going to throw out a KitchenAid Pro 600 Mixer because the planetary assembly wasn't spinning, so I decided to bring it home before in went in the trash. Watched your clip and for $20 and 20 mins later I had a working machine again. Thanks ever so much you just gave life to somebody else s garbage, and a new toy for myself. Cheers.
Great helpful video for consumers like me! After viewing this I think I can fix my mixer. Thank you so much Mark.
this a great instruction video that I had found after working on our mixer. I had replaced the plastic housing 4 years ago. and should have replaced the gears at the same time but did not. today I replaced the gears all from ereplacement parts. had taken it apart before so knew most of the steps. someone asked what the cost was. I did not replace the planetary shaft but did all gears but the secondary gears. I replaced all the bearing parts. The cost for me was 65. which when you consider the price of a new mixer, it was well worth the price. Thank you for a great video. I saved it so that I can refer to it later.
Followed this step by step. I bought the parts I needed outlined in the summary. Once they came, went step by step with this video. By far the best guide out there. Works perfectly.
Thank you so much!
Great video! You are really good in explaining. The audio is very clear also, unlike most videos on RUclips. Thanks!
The worm follower gear in my Pro 5 stripped pretty badly after many dense bread doughs. I ordered a new gear, new grease, then watched your video. Took apart the mixer following your instructions, cleaned everything up and am ready to complete the repair. This video is a lifesaver. Five stars!
I like it, I just found the broken part and ordered it. But very clear , easy to follow. Many thanks
Yesterday I received my KtchenAid Pro 600 replacement parts from eReplacement and followed the great instructions in the youtube video. When I powered it on, voila !!!!!!! all is well with the world . Thanks so much.
Thanks so much!!! I was so upset when my mixer broke!! This video helped us repair it!! It works like a charm!! We appreciate this video so much!!!
Very helpful video, very easy to follow for replacement of planetary shaft. Thank you!
Was able to figure out the disassembly ok and just ordered my replacement parts. This video makes me much more comfortable with the re assembly. Thanks for posting it!
Howdy Mark and many thanks to you for showing me how to fix a Pro 600 mixer for a handicapped lady that could not use a hand mixer. She cried when I gave it to her. Your a jewel!!
Very helpful video thank you for taking the time to show each step.
Mark, this video made my week! I just bought a used Kitchenaid Pro 600 6qt mixer for $105. When it ran a very liquid grease the color of Hershey's chocolate sauce would drop from the attachment rod. I watch another video that explain why the grease would be that consistency and this video showed me in great detail what parts should go where and how to properly clean and re-grease the gears. All I had to buy was new grease and a pair of retaining ring pliers and it's good as new!
this was a really useful video. good, simple step by step instructions for someone who has little-to-no experience.
one thing i would note is that when i replaced the worm follower gear, it was really tight around the planetary shaft. at first i thought it didn't even fit and i ended up having to hammer it down.
This video was instrumental in helping me fix our Kitchen Aid mixer. Our planetary gear fell off while using the front attachment one day. We got a few new parts and hopefully it's good to go again! Thank you!
This video was extremely helpful. I was able to replace ALL the gears which had broken down in my 3-year-old Kitchenaid. Instructions were very clear, and my unit is working great. Saved me a ton of money - thank you!
Easy to follow and replaced worm gear. Not sure my "600 Professional" might not be as heavy duty as they advertise. Caution when making bread. Dough hook tends to push up and destroy gear.
Great easy instructions!
Great video! Thanks for the clear instructions. I was able to replace the worn worm follower gear. The hardest part was finding food grade grease here in Ecuador, but after a couple of weeks of searching I found some. The gear cost $20 here, the grease over $40. But, there is enough of it to replace the grease on the mixer a few times at least. Thanks again for the excellent video!
Great Video..explained everything with the right amount of detail. Thanks
I’m glad my Kitchen-Aid pro 600 came with a metal gear housing years ago since people were complaining of it breaking. Great video!
Thank you! I was unsure of buying this mixer because of fear of it breaking and then being out a lot of $$$. I feel confident that I could fix it by following your video. Thanks again.
Great video. The repair shop said it cost too much for them to justify fixing it. A $12 part and a couple of hours and it's as good as new.
Great videos! I would love to see one with the kitchenaid DC motors, looks like they made some major changes to the gear, and different grease. No more black grease everywhere.
Thanks for the video! While I'm no stranger to repairing appliances, your video made making the repair easy and painless.
Your video was the perfect guide for fixing my wife's mixer. Thank you very much!
Very helpful video. I used it to guide me through repairing my KitchenAid Pro 550.
This demonstration was VERY helpful.
Great video, after 20+ years of use, our kitchenaid mixer is in need of some tlc. This will be very helpful!
Thank you for such an informative video. I was able to fix mine. It was really easy, and I saved a fortune on doing it myself.
Very detailed and complete! Thank you very much for the tutorial. God bless!
I am from Brazil, I live in São Paulo and its video was essential to repair my machine, thank you!
Great video for replacing the gears in the Kitchen Aid 6 quart mixer.
Very good video, slow and easy to follow, more than I needed for my situation, but it helped me determine how to fix my mixer.
thanks.
Great video ;Thank you for taking the time to post comprehensive repair information....Just don't understand why there has to be negative comments..when info is freely given...I am now a subscriber..once again THANK YOU;keep up the good work!!
This video was really helpful I fixed my mixer thank you so much 😊
Hi Mark. Great video. I replaced all the gears on my mixer a year ago after watching this. The planetary would not spin under the slightest of loads because the worm follower gear was worn badly. One year later and the worm follower gear is a mess. We use the machine very heavily, but I'm surprised that the oem part lasted almost ten years and the replacement worm follower wore after one year. In reassembling the mixer, I always felt that the worm gear had a little too much side to side play in
Great video. Got the parts, installed and it works great. Thanks!
Mark's Kitchenaid repair videos are the best!!!
Thanks for watching! It could easily be a pin that sheared or a gear. Clean out all the grease and carefully inspect the gears. Then you should be able to see what is causing your problem.
Video helped clarify the orientation of the shaft bearings. Flats need to be 'vertical', unlike shown in the parts manual on the KitchenAid website. Be careful not to put too much grease in the housing as it made reassembly difficult for me. All in all, a great help in disassembly/repair/reassembly. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this! Worked out perfectly for our kitchenaid professional 5 plus mixer.
This is a useful and great video, when you just need to get something done! The timing and pace is good, no excess blah blah blah....
Thanks for the praise! Glad we could help.
-Mark
Thank you for putting this video out. Worked great!
Very helpful, thanks for being there for us!
Thanks for watching! On this particular model you need to take out the motor to get to the screws that hold the head in place. Once the screws are out you will be able to replace the cord.
Video was dead on accurate. I was able to diagnose the problem and successfully repair our mixer with no issues at all on the first try.
Thanks for a very helpful video! Fast shipping on parts too!
I was able to fix it. I ended up replacing both bearings and the worm even though none of it looked damaged and the fit was nice and tight and no more knocking. thank you!
It is the best video, easy to understand easy to fix............i hope they make more videos and we can save some money!!
Thanks Marks, I appreciate you getting back to me. It never occurred to me that this might be the issue.
Thank you, this video has been a life saver for me!! Thanks, Marc!
Thanks so much. This was super helpful. Just fixed my kitchen aid for the second time. Lasted 6 years last time! Hopefully longer this time....
Hi Mark,
Great and informative video. One additional thing that your viewers need to watch out for. My mixer had the bushing from the gearbox cover actually work loose from the cover and slide down the shaft, resting on top of the retaining ring. This caused the damage to the lower (Bronze colored) gear and worm gear shaft assy because the top of the shaft was not supported allowing it to engage and disengage the gear teeth during operation. This effectively caused my lower gear (bronze) colored gear to wear excessively eventually failing.
I inspected my cover for wear and cracks, none. So I reinstalled the bushing into the cover and peened the edges of the cover to hold the bushing in place should it decide to move downward again. I used an automatic center punch to accomplish the peening in five or six places to be certain. Your viewers could also accomplish this by replacing the gearbox cover. Other than that everything was accurate and worked exactly as described. Thanks for taking the time to help everyone with their appliance repair issues.
My issue was incompatibility of the new housing and the old hub gear. When I purchased a new gear, it dropped in just like in the video. My mixer is now up and running. Many thanks! Not sure I would have had the courage to take on this repair without your video.
This is a great video! The only thing I would add is that it would be nice to have a list of all of the parts that were replaced! I feel enabled and ready to fix my mixer!
Thanks again for watching! I'm glad you liked the video!
Pretty good, simple and clear... Thank you...
Great video! Solved all my problems with our mixer. Cheers!
Thank you so much for this video...It really saved me a lot of money,
EXCELLENT VIDEO... EXTREMELY HELPFUL... EXCEPTIONALLY DETAILED
Thank you very much thanks to your very knowledgeable video I fixed my wife's stand kitcheaid mixer.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Gave all the info I needed, worked like a charm.
thanks - video was thorough and well explained.
Good informative video. Pretty start forward repair, I hope the problems with mine are that simple.
AWESOME. Thank you sooooo very much for your tutorials
Your grade for this presentation: A+. My third time fixing my Kitchen Aid mixer!
Listened to it found helpful, now going to move on to the actual task of working on my machine, which is missing the beat. Thanks
