Because the penguin is borderline immortal (if not ACTUALLY immortal). And also the source of said fire.
Said immortal penguin is the one who made Columbia LOVE Rap.

I love that you enjoyed this one. There is 2 animated versions. Both the live concert video one has the full version but there is also just the pure animated one which is shorter and you can see the animation better.
fun part is that this are several character singing about themselves so you dont even get half of the stuff they referencing about themselves^^
but yeah enjoyable anyway XD

I'm honestly someone who doesn't typically like rap music, but genuinely love pretty much all the Arknights songs that are either rap focused or have rap in them.
Definitely recommend checking out the animation for this one, it was a release with one of their annual concerts. Really shows off a bit of fun with their characters, something players can really enjoy! Naturally having context makes this track hit even harder, especially because at the time we didn't have English voices for like any of the characters shown in it.
Damn. I’m glad you like Manifesto. It’s usually a more controversial song, but it’s cool to see you vibing hard.
Rap is very difficult to write correctly, so when you make video game promotional rap it's extremely easy for it to become a disaster (poor Hu Tao). I think they did a much better job with Manifesto than making yeah rhyme with yeah in Renegade.
@@untemperanceThe problem with Hu Tao was that the Chinese rap works well. Having to translate her lyrics to English and go with the flow of the original made it very difficult

The animation version is just a bit shorter than the full song. It's like 40 second shorter. It's just missing a verse from the full song. But fire animation tho. I recommend watching the animation just because of the rapping penguin.

Late in the party but I'm kinda surprised the comment section isn't full of AK players explaining the lore and game-accurate references to show how high quality the lyrics truly is.
The solo rap has got to be the most loaded with references so I'll talk about it.
Dasloe, who sings the part, represents a playable unit named "Ethan" ("When they call Ethan, they looking to hunt. Solve the impossible, after I stunt"). The game takes place in a dystopian setting and the protagonists are part of a pharmaceutical company called "Rhodes Island" ("Total domination, Rhodes Island"). Ethan is a humanoid chameleon ("I'm in my habitat. Put me in anywhere, I can adapt"), whose role in-game is a Specialist ("I'm a Specialist. Cross my targets") that binds enemies ("Once you are caught in my strings, nowhere to run, you're stuck in my trap") that attacks using his yo-yo ("Off of my list with a flick of the wrist. Call it a trick, wind it up, bringing it back").
Rap is a music genre in-theme with his character (actually, all the characters fit in the style of rap) because his aesthetic and origin is very ghetto as he intermingles a lot with the downtrodden (canonically came from and still visits areas of extreme poverty), known to be a former member of many rebel resistance groups (canonically good friends with an enemy group's paratrooper that keeps falling off of holes), is into spray paint graffiti (E2 art and one of his skins explicitly show this), and is genuinely anti-war (subtly hinted that he left the other resistance movements due to the rampant violence and stayed in Rhodes Island because he sees their genuine effort towards a true end to the never ending conflict).
