From the UK - we will remember them and all our allies...... and I personally thank South Korea for also remembering the Commonwealth fallen for your freedom RIP The Glorious Dead.......
This is for future historian working on this topic. During the early stage of Spring Offensive from April 22 to 25 1951, glosters battalion encountered elements of 560 regiment of 187th division and 1st battalion of 561 regiment of same division. It is also said that the main attacking force 560 regiment was reinforced by the 1st battalion of 565 regiment of 189th division. At most there are 5 Chinese battalions attacked the Glosters at different point and time. Outside the pocket, two remaining regiments of 187th division, 561 and 559 fought back three relief forces trying to rescue the Glosters. There are 2 battalions from 65th Regiment of 3rd US division plus a tank battalion from the east; Philippine 10th battalion plus 10th British tank battalion from the south; and 12th regiment of Korean 1st division reinforced by one American tank company from the west. This local battle was overshadowed by a much bigger one took place from may 27 to June 10 at Iron triangle, where 63rd corps (187,188, 189 division) fought with US 1st Calvary, Korean 9th division, Korean first marine regiment, and Canadian 25th Brigade. By the time they left the battlefield, the Corps strength was reduced from 36,000 in April to 14,000 in June. The Corps commander, then 34 years old General Fu, wrote a Memoir and past away in 2003. In 1966, while serving as Beijing’s commanding officer, he offended Madame Mao, was put in prison for 6 year. He left his life saving to school charity.
