There could be many reasons, hopefully we will get more about Ichibei's plan, maybe in Cour 4.
The Spirit King getting his identity back is symbolic especially given what was done to him by the ambitious. I'm calling it now, if Reiō's name is Adyneus which was mentioned from the Auswhalen chant, then perhaps Yhwach's mother is Agate. Which is really interesting cuz if you look up Agate in theology, it's often associated to goddesses in almost every mythology, supposedly the embodiment of Earth and the mother of all creation like Gaia in Greek mythology.
Possibly, Kubo is taking several names from God in the bible Yhwach-- Hebrew YHWH (God of Israel) Adyneus-- Hebrew Adonai [master, lord] (another title of the God of Israel)
So going by what we saw, Yhwach was around in the Primordial World, but the creation of the current reality caused him to revert into a infant. Which makes his mixture of love and hate for his father quite logical. He has experienced how it is living without the fear of Death and yet his father let a world where he knew his son would suffer be created. Kind of a dick move, NGL!

@@Swagkia_Kuchiki way easier said than done. you won’t see many anime getting even more than a 2 cour order per season because anime production is very expensive and time consuming. trade offs have to be made.
I think the intro showd allegory of passage of time. Basically the Soul King "split the worlds" iin "not just a single day. Basically The soul King was at it for years from when Ywach was a child until he grew into an adult. That scenery is not "Ywach aging rapidly". It just basically tells us the process of splitting the worlds took so many years. On another tangent, I think Ichibe is involved in why baby Ywach was inked black.
@@iusethisnameformygoogleacc1013 its not really changing amything, It just adds things that is already stated in cfow. No one stated How long did it take to separate the world. And it was Ichibe that is narrating it so he can omit things from what he is telling.
Yhwach has power to share parts of his soul with others which he can later retake it (forcibly or when person die), by doing this he can obtain more power. If he stop doing this he revert to this black baby. Ichibei's ink can only removes names, so I don't see how he is responsible for this. Yhwach use power which are connected to shadows like: portal used to transport between Soul Society and Quincy dimension or when he replace his powers with Haschwalth when he go to sleep. So, not every power connected with color black has to be connected with Ichibei. For me it's more looking like in the primordial world Yhwach didn't need to use this power (or even didn't have such ability) and after seperation of world, suddenly he was forced to do this by created by Soul King cycle of life and death.
@@midalin5201 remember when Ichibe ink half Ywach's arm and how that arm's strength get's half. If his full arm gets inked that basically erases its name "arm" completely making his arm unable function as an "arm" since that is not an arm anymore. Basically if the entire body is inked. It loses all its name in its entirety thus making that body basically "lose" its entire bodily functions And that fits the description of baby Ywach. A baby that lost its 5 senses and that can't even move.
It’s like *Bleach* is constantly finding new ways to shock us while keeping the tension sky-high. The changes from the original material are wild, but honestly, they feel more like enhancements than anything. That whole "Soul King Adanas" drop? Absolute chills. The way the show cranked up the “end of days” feeling makes the pacing so much more intense and natural. And Ichigo's growth-he’s on a whole other level now. This isn’t just a retelling; it’s a full-on reimagining, and I’m completely here for it!
Finally a good explanation of why Yhwach didn't finish cutting the SK and waiting for Ichigo. In the manga was weird of the reason he didn't himself when he had the opportunity and wasted so much time until Ichigo appears.
That shot of Ichigo in front of the Jujishio attack looks incredible but another cool piece of imagery is that it also looks like the eyes of the soul king (the whites if the eye forming a cross around the multiple irises). Perhaps another symbolic reminder that the Soul King has seen or planned around this very moment?
So Soul King actually saw that all of the Quincy, including hiw own Son would be discriminated and massacred in the world he was about to create and did nothing to stop it. He willingly let himself get mutilated and imprisoned for eternity to become a lynchpin of the very worlds he created. To stop the ''Darkness'' from approaching, whatever the fuck that is. But yeah, if I were Yhwach I would be fucking pissed as well if my father did that to me. It is finally good to see that Yhwach actually has a clear, understandable motive for the things he does. Makes him so much more interesting than ''I wanna rule the world, and be a God. LMAO!''.
I think there's a primordial chaos he once fought but couldn't beat, nearly every mythology has a primordial chaos so maybe instead of the devil in the hell arc well deal with this darkness instead
@@gregorytreacy7085 Yeah maybe hell arc is about the darkness being kept in hell and the purpose of the captain tier souls there is to suppress it or something.
I was shocked that we actually got the Soul King's name. Also loved the little bits of foreshadowing for stuff what will be happening later, like Yoruichi's little brother helping out around the R&D Department, and Ryuken holding a few pieces of Still Silver in the palm of his hand.
So we at least without a shadow of a doubt, know that we are still going towards the still silver usage route, maybe they will even change how its used 😱😱
@@wizels1403 i hope, that we will get few moments between Ryuken and Uryu. At this point, i feel, that Uryuu is totally on Juchas side. We dont get that total mistrust from Jugram against Uryu, like in the manga. Yhwach looking ay the soul king from afar creating the 3 worlds, just drives home how there was no place for the quincy in the soul kings worlds Also ichigos getsuga Jujisho hanging in the air in the same rough pattern created by the white space of the soul kings eye with ichigo in the center. It also calls back to irazusando where ichigo had the 5 pupils while seeing the soul king vision, if you count him in the center of jujisho as a pupil.
The 2 prevailing theories I've seen so far are that: 1. Yhwach saw the splitting and that was how and why he was "reborn" as a baby into the World of the Living. This lines up with Yhwach "Dark Jesus" allegory or whatever but not sure about the timelines. 2. Yhwach having inherited The Almighty from his "dad" was able to experience the splitting because The Almighty allows him to "see all."
As far as I'm aware, yhwach cannot see anything regarding the soul kings past using the almighty. IIRC, ichibe alluded to this when they spoke prior to the first quincy invasion.

That flashback was beautiful. I love that those who speculated that the Soul King's name was Adyneus WAY back got their confirmation finally. Beautiful fight, and I loved the reworked scenes. I wonder at what point we'll get Ichigo vs Uryu. Can't wait for Ukitake next week (and Tommo's reaction to it!).
My interpretation of the beginning scene was that it is basically a reference to the Christian God sending his son (who is basically himself) down to Earth as a baby. What I get from this is that Yhwach was basically the Soul King? Just like Jesus IS God, but at the same time he's his son.
The problem is jesus is not god but his first creation, and the reason Yhwach as "reborn" in the new world is because the new world created is a world without a place for quincys, because of this Yhwach need to recreate the quincy legacy from zero.
I love how this fight took place all throughout the Royal Palace, not just the Soul King chamber. Also that Yhwach deactivated the Almighty just to truly show off how strong Ichigo has come since last time. Also also, the scale of the tremors across all the realms is a nice touch. The stakes of this battle is truly enormous.
About Yhwach turning into a baby. It seems to be that he was a normal person before, but this world separation made him loose himself and turn into baby. That kinda make sense, because Yhwach already lost himself in the plot 1000 years ago. He lost to Yamamoto, but survived, though lost all his powers. So he just turned into a baby back then. And when worlds were separated that was his first time turning into a baby
I always wondered why the Soul King's son was born with such heavy disabilities, the idea that he was "reduced" to that baby similarly to how the Soul King was torn apart is pretty chilling.

I've been scrolling down to see if anyone else had posted about this. I saw it when I watched the episode myself, but it didn't really register. I absolutely means something. Question is, what?
@@GM-dg6mj The almighty generally sees every future before it happens, so seeing something 'at the last second' isn't really possible since it's always before it ever happened. There are a very limited number of people/abilities in bleach with potential to circumvent it (Aizen's kyoka suigetsu, Ichigo's true bankai potentially, etc.) so Orihime's powers suprising Yhwach could signify they are one of the tools used in besting Yhwach.
the anime just gets better and better love the added content from the extended fights to more lore like the soul king's name being Adnyeus which actually foreshadowed when Yhwach said his father's name in his chant for the auswahlen
16:03 What I really like about that plot twist was: it gave Yhwach a reason why he himself couldn't just kill the Soul King and be done with it. Just looking at the manga version of this scene, it feels like its only purpose was to let Yhwach gloat to Ichigo and then further humiliate him by forcing him to strike the killing blow instead. At least here in the anime, Ichigo is the only one _able_ to strike the killing blow, so that's why Yhwach has to use that sword blut trick in the first place. Otherwise, this is just minor in the grand scheme of things, but I really wish we could see what happens when something physically crosses the boundaries of Sankt Zwinger. Sure [Royd] said it smites intruders with God's light, but I actually want to _see_ that in action. I do like that Yhwach himself actually uses it as opposed to just Royd-as-Yhwach though.
Is that flashback saying Yhwach was grown when the worlds were split? And that the split changed him back into a baby? If so, that's huge imo. That he was an original member of that singular world. Did Ichibe do something and take away his name THEN? Wouldn't that line up with God Like You? God(hah), so many questions this episode put forth
That would also explain where the Kaiser Gesang comes from. In the manga, it just seemed like he could have predicted his resurrection with The Almighty, but the anime clarified that Yhwach didn't have The Almighty in the original war. Instead, he probably took 999 years to recover from being turned back into an infant the first time, so he would have let his people know that they could expect him to return in the same way when Sasakibe smoked him. Also fits with the real-world disappearance of YHWH's true name of course, with words like Yahweh, Jehovah and now Yhwach as guesses. No wonder Ichibe thought he could win until the end, if Yhwach wasn't even screaming his true original name as he won.
I wasn't expecting there to be so much tension with this episode, but the animators really nailed it out of the park with this one. The calm before the storm of Ichigo trying to save the soul king, pulling out Yhwach's blade, only to then very hesitantly slash him at the behest of the power of the all mightly was actually very intense. The impact of the blade cracking the barrier before being cut in 2 was also a really nice touch.
A great episode. So much going on at a blazing pace. The fact that Ichigo had to be the one to kill the king. And seeing other people doing things and reacting to what was happening was great. Just a great episode.
THIS is the reason ive been a fan since the orginal anime release the world the lore its all glorious seeing all these aditions to the anime feels like this a gift from kubo to us for sticking with him for so long
Couple things I noticed in the episode: 1). Ukitake's line of "Please don't die" as he's healing Kenpachi might be a double entendre. He can be referring to Kenpachi, sure, but there's a possibly that he's also referring to Reiō, since this scene happens as the quakes are taking place. 2). I believe that Ganjū being the one to yell at Yhwach for stabbing Reiō might be a nod to the ancient past described in the novels, where it's stated that the Shiba ancestor was more merciful and didn't want to kill or seal Reiō. It's a very nice touch.
The gift that keeps on giving, that scene of soul king in that primordial lake and Yhwach’s evolution is something that will stick with me for a while. Really nice stuff to see.
I just want to point out the bgm that was used when the Almighty was activated. That was a very fitting track for that moment, if a bit on the nose. I love how the music plays a part in showcasing the events as they unfold.
I think its just so cool seeing and hearing Ichigo now calmly say Getsuga Tensho like that. Its showed how much he has evolved as a character. 10/10 episode
it just occurred to me while rewatching, when Ichigo and Ywach are fighting, he says to him "If you fear, the only future left for you is death" which kinda reminded me of what "Old man Zangetsu" said to ichigo back in the soul society arc: "Abandon your fear. Look forward. Move forward and never stop. You'll age if you pull back. You'll die if you hesitate." I dont think it was intentional or anything, but its interesting to think about, seeing as OMZ and Ywach are basically the same person.
i like how they just give us hints and glimpses of the flashback scene to give us stuff to speculate about instead of just info dumping everything right away
During the soul king flash back. What if Yhwach was being used as the first test of the 3 new worlds and the cycle of life and death? He saw his fathers plan for death and rebirth maybe was scared of the idea of ending up in the hollow stages which gives the Quincies a natural hatred for hollows. Soul king ritual ends up forcing him through rebirth cycle which is why he grew and reverted to a baby to reborn in the human world.
THIS EPISODE WOW! From that little backstory between yhwach and the soul king, the animation on point as always, scenes that weren't shown in the manga, and they showed scenes of dialogue that were showcased later on in manga format, everything was just amazing, and this is only episode 2 of the new season, its only gonna get better from here.
My interpretation of the beginning scenes is that Yhwach wasn't actually there. Imo, that's him experiencing the creation of the triplet world when he gained the Almighty the first time. Because at that point he became a Soul King candidate. I think Yhwach experienced something similar to what Ichigo experienced in Irazusando when he gained "the power of the king". It's just that because of the Almighty and his connection to his father, Yhwach saw more than Ichigo did. But we definetly need more context.
All this head canon bs when kubo is working on the anime, and isn’t being rushed for a reason bro Ywach was there and turned into a baby in the new realms.
@@pluto8701 how do you explain him aging so quickly in the beginning? And Ichigo appearing in the water? @@dencheq ichibe has a plan in case Ichigo and the others fail. Granted, Yhwach would have to disable the almighty for it to work.
@@dencheqWell, we know from CFYOW that Ichibei's plan was to make Ichigo the new Soul King. Probably he thought that Yhwach would have still managed to break Adnyeus seal in some way, or maybe the balance of the worlds would have been still affected even without completely breaking the seal. There could be many reasons, hopefully we will get more about Ichibei's plan, maybe in Cour 4.

The Spirit King getting his identity back is symbolic especially given what was done to him by the ambitious. Facts
Possibly, Kubo is taking several names from God in the bible
Yhwach-- Hebrew YHWH (God of Israel)
Adyneus-- Hebrew Adonai [master, lord] (another title of the God of Israel)
Unfortunately, the Japanese chant for Auswahlen uses "Menō (瑪瑙)" for "agate", so we know it's a gemstone.
I don't think he was there. I think that's the memory ichibe showed him

@@hasan7275 They should have opted for 5-6 cours to fully flesh out this arc. Especially with a lot of scraped ideas that Kubo wanted like the French inspired characters or Rangiku's importance. After the Fullbring Arc ended, he did say this next arc was supposed to last 10 years.
Edit: Maybe end this arc with 90 episodes to symbolize the 9.

That would be a major change from CFYOW, which everything else has been pretty consistent with.
@@iusethisnameformygoogleacc1013 its not really changing amything, It just adds things that is already stated in cfow.
No one stated How long did it take to separate the world. And it was Ichibe that is narrating it so he can omit things from what he is telling.
What does baby yuha inked black mean?
It loses all its name in its entirety thus making that body basically "lose" its entire bodily functions
And that fits the description of baby Ywach.
God the smile on your face was so enjoyable its so much fun to watch people simply be happy.
Ichigo is the Soul King

Yhwach looking ay the soul king from afar creating the 3 worlds, just drives home how there was no place for the quincy in the soul kings worlds
Also ichigos getsuga Jujisho hanging in the air in the same rough pattern created by the white space of the soul kings eye with ichigo in the center. It also calls back to irazusando where ichigo had the 5 pupils while seeing the soul king vision, if you count him in the center of jujisho as a pupil.
The 2 prevailing theories I've seen so far are that:
❤️💙💙💛
As far as I'm aware, yhwach cannot see anything regarding the soul kings past using the almighty. IIRC, ichibe alluded to this when they spoke prior to the first quincy invasion.

This is the first EP that only Perriot Filmes worked on unlike the previous one that was still done with the OG studio and it shows. The quality and the names os the staff on this ep is insane
This is the best theory I've seen regarding that scene
Yhwach=Yahwch=Yahweh🔥
The problem is jesus is not god but his first creation, and the reason Yhwach as "reborn" in the new world is because the new world created is a world without a place for quincys, because of this Yhwach need to recreate the quincy legacy from zero.
@@gabrielrasilva Jesus is God. God is The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, and Jesus is The Son.
Babe wake up, mrtommo2304 just dropped a video.
12:41 CRAZY Orihime feat. Absolutely nuts.

@@Acoustickitten1 Could it possibly be a build-up for he's eventual defeat? Orihime kind of plays a role in restoring Ichigo's Bankai, so maybe they are planning something else for her, since her powers are supposedly, as Aizen says, godlike.
that's the flaws of the almighty, if he sees something at the very last second, he needs to refocus to reset and choose whichever new future outcome needed to now avoid the new future he saw for the split second.
7:25 i loved that ywach reused qual kries and sankt zwinger 🔥🔥
We've been through all 28 episodes so far and this is imo the best episode that they had ever did.
Love the name and reveal because it only added more sudo questions ❓⁉️⁉️❓ without telling all.
Basically ichibei kicked yhwach into that cycle and regressed yhwach into a pitch black infant
What a glorious episode. I couldn't contain my excitement the entire time. And we have confirmation of Soul King's name.
Requiring a perfect hybrid to break the seal made so much sense finally. Also Aizen was spot on trying to create one, without even knowing it xD
This has to be one of the greatest elevated source material anime episodes of all time
A great episode. So much going on at a blazing pace. The fact that Ichigo had to be the one to kill the king. And seeing other people doing things and reacting to what was happening was great. Just a great episode.
THIS is the reason ive been a fan since the orginal anime release the world the lore its all glorious seeing all these aditions to the anime feels like this a gift from kubo to us for sticking with him for so long
Couple things I noticed in the episode:
This episode honestly hooked my attention unlike any for awhile. Absolute Banger.
When you were asking what that was in the sky in the 11th minute that is what yhwach essentially sees when he’s using the Almighty to see into futures
So glad you're back doing these! They're always such a delight to watch. 💯💯
The gift that keeps on giving, that scene of soul king in that primordial lake and Yhwach’s evolution is something that will stick with me for a while. Really nice stuff to see.
The upside-down floating shot was so cool
I just want to point out the bgm that was used when the Almighty was activated. That was a very fitting track for that moment, if a bit on the nose. I love how the music plays a part in showcasing the events as they unfold.
This was Ichigo’s and Yhwach’s second fight out of 4. It only gets better from here on out.
EASILY One of the best episodes, the fight and new revelations!! We are having a masterpice of arc fully showed how it was suppose to be!
I think its just so cool seeing and hearing Ichigo now calmly say Getsuga Tensho like that. Its showed how much he has evolved as a character. 10/10 episode
I love how many references there are to ichigo vs yhwach’s first fight. They do a great job at highlighting ichigos improvement
it just occurred to me while rewatching, when Ichigo and Ywach are fighting, he says to him "If you fear, the only future left for you is death" which kinda reminded me of what "Old man Zangetsu" said to ichigo back in the soul society arc: "Abandon your fear.
Love the surprise appearance of rug Ichigo...best character this arc ☝🏿👏🏿

BEST EPISODE BY FAR PEAK IS BACK
This ep was a great plot and pacing fix in so many ways.

I freaking love how they foreshadowed Still Silver
INCREDIBLE EPISODE!! I couldn't close my mouth due to all the reveals and spectacles
Anyone of you even noticed that Yhwach used his allmighty at 09 minutes and 09 seconds ?
My interpretation of the beginning scenes is that Yhwach wasn't actually there.
Imo, that's him experiencing the creation of the triplet world when he gained the Almighty the first time. Because at that point he became a Soul King candidate.
I think Yhwach experienced something similar to what Ichigo experienced in Irazusando when he gained "the power of the king". It's just that because of the Almighty and his connection to his father, Yhwach saw more than Ichigo did.
But we definetly need more context.
Yhwach falling through the triplet world and regressing into a dark child tells me everything I need to know.
