Harry Potter was the greatest way of escaping the stresses of teenage years. I just buried myself in the books and forgot the reality of what was happening. By the time I was finished reading the books the troubles had passed.
Guys we are very lucky to have HP in our generation. In these movies, we were taught to be more imaginative in all ways and specially of values, friendship. I can't imagine a movie today that will leave memories in everybody's heart/mind like what HP did. I really have loved HP movies. Most probably Dan and I are of same age, I was surprised that even my colleagues onboard a ship who are older than us also had been watching HP movies and have a collection of the movies. I have grown up collecting and watching this movie and for me every single movie has been a success. When I was a kid, I thought the main character was really Harry Potter in person. Later on, I just realized that he wasn't when the movie Harry Potter became a topic in class conversations.
I don't know if it's just me being weird. But I get such a welcoming, melancholy feeling every time I hear Hedwigs theme or see some sort of scene. The cast and crew have memories and move on and remember fondly, and the fans have the same thing. And I just can't get the feeling across with words no matter how hard I try to.
its such a safe feeling, you hear it and its almost like you BECOME the song and instantly like put yourself inside the nostalgic feeling and completely escape reality. at least thats how i feel
It's quite funny how he says that the end of filming HP marked the end of his youth... Because I felt exactly the same the moment I walked out of the cinema at the end of Deathly Hallows part 2. I started reading those books when I was 9 or 10, and expecting the next books and/or movies just became part of my teenage life. I'm so happy to have been part of the Harry Potter generation!
What a refreshing and honest interview, which will be an important piece in the decades to come. Thank you for posting it. Slightly ashamed to admit that I blubbed a bit as the three leads hugged each other in tears at the end of the last shot... x
That's exactly how I felt until I saw The Woman in Black and realised that Daniel wasn't at all awkward when he was acting. The awkwardness was just him playing Harry, and when you think of it like that, it does actually fit the way Harry behaves in the books. He's just been thrust right into the middle of everything and no one ever tells him what's going on
Dem feeels... I will probably never be able to leave this amazing series behind, as i'm continuesly trying to find something new in this, and we all know the past doesn't change. I try very hard to focus on the positives, but at times like this i just feel this incredible sadness and loss.
+ThaBoss76000 but it is with us all time! just because the anticipation is over it shoud not make you feel this bad. you can always find the beloved characters on the pages of the books or in the films. cheers!
10 years of Marvel completed. 10 years of Harry Potter completed. 44 years of Star Wars has come to a full close. All of these franchises most of us kids and adults have grown to love and cherish are over. But they never truly leave us, they stand as memories we will hold in our hearts forever.
Dan: "I would just like thank all of you first of all, for.... (Points at David Heyman) Giving me a job. (David nods, Dan points at Jo Rowling) And for allowing him (David) to give me a job." Funniest part.
Each Harry Potter fan would gladly give his or her life to be get that lucky to spend ten years being a part of the team working on something this amazing and magical... and for the opportunity to earn money for the rest of your life :D .
It is an experience that has taken up, for a lot of us, half of our life. Something like that is impossible to forget and needs to be appreciated. It taught us to be strong, to laugh, to learn, and to take on the world and it's opportunities. Its not just a book series. Its not just a movie series. It is an EXPERIENCE! THAT is why we love Potter forever.
Yeah absolutely ! I loved the way you said that happy Potter is an experiance ! Happy Potter Will rest on us for our entire Life ! 😉👍🏽 and i hope fantastic Beasts would have that same level of sucess like happy Potter !
I genuinely glad to have live thru this 10 yrs and be part of the madness that was HPO. I don't think any future generations will know what this felt like. I love the whole cast because they are part of my life. Rup, Em and Dan are the best people in the world.
I cried bc I've been in it through it all... I love them so much and it moved my life so far I will never forget it's movement.... I want to give a shout out to Daniel for accepting this roll and making my life keep going with that magical touch in it.... thank you SO much!
I always almost cry and feel sad when i see they give the speech when they finish filming, i can't imagine how it must have been for them, working together for so long, and then saying goodbye. It's not easy... But i think they handle everything very well, i don't know how i would do it to be honest, but i am so happy for them :-)
I agree completely with you. HP has literally been my life. I was 4 when I saw the first one. I have literally grown up in a world of HP! I cried after the first film, I cried after the last. I feel privileged to have had a childhood that was HP orientated!
never seen Rupert Grint Cry before....damn NO ONE IN MY LIFE CAN DIMINISH THE RESPECT n LOVE i have for HP i only wish..if it could b a tv series...then i wouldnt be missing it so soon.
This series was the best ever! Growing up this has been an inspiration for me to love school and just think that it's Hogwarts than hell. Daniel, Emma and Rupert are just stunning and just amazing actors and they brought life to Harry, Hermione and Ron. And of course other characters like Snape, Voldemort, Dumbledore and Malfoy just made it even more special. This was just pure gold. My goodness! ❤️❤️
Daniel said that this has been his youth. This is my youth too. Since I was 5, Old enough to understand most words I read this. Every night, for nearly 9 years, my mom would read the books to me. When we finished the most recent book of the time, we would start again. And then again, and again until the next book came out. When we finished the final book, I cried for well over 2 hours. I then went on a 1 week marathon of watching the movies, reading the books, movies, books. HP is my youth. -K9
I was holding on and tried not to cry but when Dan said during premiere : "and I got very very lucky when I was 11..." which followed by his young self ... I couldn't hold my tears ;'(
This is such an amazing documentary. These movies were such a part of huge part of my life. It was great to hear how Dan handled the fame, the pressure and fun that came with Potter. I'm very impressed with him and I wish him luck. Thank you for sharing this!
Oh my god, the feels. Especially during the part where they film their very last scene. I can't imagine what it felt like to have to say goodbye to such an amazing period of your life and to so many people. How I wish I could have been in Trafalgar Square on that day, even though I would have cried my eyes out. I am literally living my Harry Potter dream at the moment, since I am studying in England. I am going to visit the studios this weekend. It is going to be amazing.
Harry Potter reminds my childhood and I grew up with these stories, Dan, Rupert and Emma you guys did an amazing job in all Harry Potter movies and you guys are extremely talented, Thank You. The memories are lovely, strange and also painful when it all ends. Its like i lost my best ever friends forever.
I was sobbing so hard then the clip of Snape and Voldemort being all girlish popped up just made me laugh again XD I do know it's Alan Rickman and Ralph Fiennes but they were in costume and seeing the Dark Lord like that was hilarious.. N I finished the vid n I'm crying again
I never ever cry in anything like this but this time I couldn't help it ... I really like your personality Daniel wish I could meet you though it's close to impossible ... I sometimes dream myself being Hermione Granger on set like Emma but in a refreshing Harry Potter franchise ... Though I don't think it will ever happen because I'm already 14 and will turn 15 this year on the same day Emma turns 30 ( we actually have the same birthday ) ... "It's true Hogwarts will always welcome you home"
it's funny, because the last installment of the 7th book came out on my 20th birthday, and i remember sitting there for the credits thinking "this is the end of my childhood." Harry potter, which I had grown up with, was over, and I was no longer a teenager, but officially in my 20's. Needless to say, lots of tears were shed.
:'))) Dan, you are such an amazing guy. When you say "i'm not particularly what people want when they meet a movie star", it's very funny but it's also wrong. I'm so happy you kept being so modest, close to people and all.
Oh.. this makes me cry happy tears! Harry Potter was/is such a huge part of my life and to see this is so amazing yet sad. I neither wanted it to end :)
Thinking about Daniel Radcliffe being Harry Potter, you should be more happy, that they managed to keep the one cast throughout all 8 movies. Initially, they had planed to replace the cast on the later movies, because they didn't expect, to keep up with that tight schedule. Actually, i am happy to see all movies being done by one cast.
oh my god! bring those years back!!! in these days go watch movies is totally pointless... i believe that no one could be better Harry Potter than Dan Radcliffe, the man is fenomenal!!!!!! i grew up with Harry Potter and his magic and i'm crying right now...Mischief Managed guys :'(
Thank you for posting this. As a fellow potterhead, you must know that my thank you is not sarcastic in the least when I say "Thank you for making me cry." :')
Obliterate tG they wont be able to as they have aged too much since harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2. Witch is kinda sad too think about. Also some of them have moved on and changed there lives like emma works with the United Nations. Even thinking of watching harry potter and knowing that the 3 guys who have started it all wont be there to end it. I don't think it will be the same without them and it will be hard for them to pull it off as the golden trio has done such an amazing job i think it cant be beaten. Though it would be nice to think that they will finish what they started together as it wont feel the same to watch knowing that they have all moved on.
+shabrinaZ Hi, have you ever read James Potter series (the fanfic series written by G. Norman Lippert about Harry's first son)? I haven't been able to read Cursed Child so I can't really comment on that, but if you have read James Potter fanfic series, I would love to know what do you think about it compared to Cursed Child.
I can't actually believe that the films have ended:( I love them and everyone who was on it, it's sad t know there won't be another one. The films taught so many people loads of things! Boys and girls can be bestfriends and old and young can always be close, however bad the world seems you always have your friends! It's sad to know it's all over:( over a decade of hp! Changed history:*!!
I miss him so much so when I'm 80 years old I will be sitting in a rocking chair reading harry potter and my family will say after all this time and I will say ALWAYS
I haven't seen The Woman in Black actually, but I'm sure you're right!! It's just, I guess I never really figured that Harry's extremely awkward (until I read the books for the 3rd time or so), but it is sooo true. Dan's really good at being awkward, I'll give him that!! :)
I'm so glad that I have been able to experience these ten fun years of Harry Potter! and I'm so sorry for my children who are going to have to watch all the films and read all the books
I've thought for quite a lot of years now, that Daniel was not the perfect Potter - he wasn't that good of an actor, I thought. But after watching this documentary, I've realized that because he is such a sweet and good person, he really understood Harry in a way I'm not sure many other actors could do. So I've changed my mind, Dan was and still is indeed a very, very good Harry Potter
I miss Harry Potter I watched the first movie when I was 9 then saw the last one when I was 19 now I am 21 I love Harry Potter my second fave book sires ever my fave is Eragon but the Harry Potter movies are way better then the Eragon movie.
This is so moving :( Thanks for posting. Anyone know if it's possible to watch the complete video the cast saw on the last day of shooting? The one in which there are differents scenes and characters, and they brought the number of the day of shooting. I'd LOVE to watch it complete.
Harry Potter was the greatest way of escaping the stresses of teenage years. I just buried myself in the books and forgot the reality of what was happening. By the time I was finished reading the books the troubles had passed.
every time I finish the books, I just start over again.. It's like I can't ever put them down
When I saw Daniel, Emma and rupert hugging and crying I started crying
that moment was so heartbreaking :(
Still a fan of Harry Potter?
It was emotional

It never really goes away. That's a good and a bad thing.
I cried. I cried hard...

Nice to see such a wonderfully grounded young man after being involved in such a huge world wide phenomena.

Why does dam have to be the most amazing person in the universe SO MANY FEELS
Dan, you weren't just lucky.. You earned it! Everybody talked of how you worked hard for it. You're such a great man! Did you even know that?
Yes thanks

Such a lovely guy. Talented, yet not full of himself. Refreshing!
it has been 8 years since ..and seeing him crying I wanna tell him its not over...cursed child is here ..please dont cry !!!
Oh.. this makes me cry happy tears! Harry Potter was/is such a huge part of my life and to see this is so amazing yet sad. I neither wanted it to end :)

Absolutly sobbing
Thank you for posting this. As a fellow potterhead, you must know that my thank you is not sarcastic in the least when I say "Thank you for making me cry." :')
funny part: Harry thanking the 2 guys for his job.
Thanks for posting! :)
Wonderful man ❤
hope they bring the cast back for The Cursed Child
the cursed child was a shitshow that reminded more of a fanfiction, hopefully it gets buried like the Star wars holiday special.
not really considering the whole thing was written with Rowling, and the base story is hers.

RIP Alan Rickman.

+Jisk van der Veen ikr
I miss him so much so when I'm 80 years old I will be sitting in a rocking chair reading harry potter and my family will say after all this time and I will say ALWAYS
you won't be the only one )))) There will be at least two of us reading the books all over again.... Again? After all this time?!.......... Always!
I'm crying this made me so emotional! Oh why don't they just make one more!!!!
I haven't seen The Woman in Black actually, but I'm sure you're right!! It's just, I guess I never really figured that Harry's extremely awkward (until I read the books for the 3rd time or so), but it is sooo true. Dan's really good at being awkward, I'll give him that!! :)
If you look up the lay scene filmed for HP you can see the looks on all of their faces as the scene ends. It's so sad and moving.
this made me so teary , why do all good things come to an end?
I'm so glad that I have been able to experience these ten fun years of Harry Potter! and I'm so sorry for my children who are going to have to watch all the films and read all the books
I love how this short documentary was already divided in parts but whoever uploaded the video still sayd FUCK IT I do what I want.
We will never see anything like Harry Potter again in our lifetime.

I Crying
Thumps up if you're gonna read this story to ur kids and ur gonna get them hooked on harry potter xD
It makes me cry when they all. Start
I think the weirdest day of dannielle life was the day after his very last day ever on the set and not coming back to work the next day.
3:37 oh my dear god
I'm crying :'(
I've thought for quite a lot of years now, that Daniel was not the perfect Potter - he wasn't that good of an actor, I thought. But after watching this documentary, I've realized that because he is such a sweet and good person, he really understood Harry in a way I'm not sure many other actors could do. So I've changed my mind, Dan was and still is indeed a very, very good Harry Potter
"What am I going to do now?"
*everyone else's reaction*
I miss Harry Potter I watched the first movie when I was 9 then saw the last one when I was 19 now I am 21 I love Harry Potter my second fave book sires ever my fave is Eragon but the Harry Potter movies are way better then the Eragon movie.

Beautiful Video

This is so moving :( Thanks for posting.
Anyone know if it's possible to watch the complete video the cast saw on the last day of shooting? The one in which there are differents scenes and characters, and they brought the number of the day of shooting. I'd LOVE to watch it complete.
I feel like watching Harry Potter now :)
who ever cried raise your hand!
