I love these old film's. I wish that they had some sound for information about what's going on.

That is flax cultivation. The video shows plants grown fiber processing, spinning to be used to make linen fabric, warp for wool blankets...

@@jant4741 thank you very much I appreciate that bit of information. It amazes me at what people use to do. They were very resourceful with what they had to work with.

@@chriscoker7794 :) Colonial days, land owners were taxed if they did not grow flax. The waste coming off cleaning the fiber, was used to start fires, in flint riffles and animal feed. The linen fabric, longer used, softer becomes and cared for can last for thousands of years. Superior to the junk fabric sold in most stores today. It is very satisfying work.

@@jant4741 thanks again for sharing your knowledge. I'm sixty years old and really enjoy the old things and the way that they were done. I've bought five old singer treadle sewing machines just because of their history.

@@chriscoker7794 Beautiful machines! Same age group. Recently had to repair my solid oak loom, and was a joy to work on as so well made. The spinning and weaving guilds are all over the US, but not meeting due to Cov. You might enjoy reading ‘Respect the Spindle’ though set in S. America is a delightful read. RUclips has some neat all you need is sticks and yarn back strap loom tutorials. All great retirement hobbies. Cornell University library is also a very good resource.

I am enjoying this video. Does anyone know if it has sound? I am trying to play on a device I am not used to and am not sure if I am missing that or if it is a silent film. I don't want to miss any part of the film!

Procuro tudo o que posso sobre tecelagem, desde a cardagem até a peça pronta e este filme foi maravilhoso. Um exemplo de técnica artesanal de produção. Obrigada pela postagem.
