Actually turning on the display, which gets the fuel injected, which powers the battery, which allows it to start, so you're wrong, but he turned the key so it's fake and of its now he jus blew the main fuse so I don't advise doing this with any wires
my guy, anybody stealing motorcycles has already learned how to do it. (btw this method doesn't work) this is why i chain mine through the frame to a tall pole or bicycle rack, usually near the entrance so there will be lots of witnesses when they pull out the angle grinder

this is why i use a boat grade chain thru the exhaust and movement alarms plus trackersi nside the bike. atleast i still have insurance
