There's a light in the window
    The table's spread in splendor
Someone's standing by the open door
I can see a crystal river
    I must be near forever
See, I've never been this homesick before
I see the bright light shine
    It's just about hometime
I can see my Father standing at the door
This world has been a wilderness
    I'm ready for deliverance
Lord, I've never been this homesick before
I can see the family gather
    Sweet faces, all familiar
And no one's old or feeble anymore
And my lonesome heart is cryin'
Think I'll spread my wings for flyin'
See I've never felt this homesick before
    See the bright light shine
    It's just about hometime
I can see my Father standing at the door
This world has been a wilderness
    I'm ready for deliverance
Lord, I've never been this homesick before
    See the bright light shine
    It's just about hometime
I can see my Father standing at the door
This world has been a wilderness
    I'm ready for deliverance
Lord, I've never been this homesick before
Lord, I've never been this homesick before, thank you Lord

This has to be close to when Kelly first started singing in the late 70's

Rex Nelon sang bass with the LeFevres for many years. From what I read, Eva Mae LeFevre retired in 1977. Rex was already the manager of the group, and since there were no more LeFevres left, he renamed the group "the Rex Nelon Singers". I don't know when Kelly joined the group, but by the mid-80's, they were known simply as the Nelons.

Larry Ford sings "Beautiful City" with the Dixie Echoes on the same VHS tape where you pulled this video. Would you please post it? Thank you.

Gaither had a lot of Jubilee compilation tapes, but this song was also on a tape featuring only the Nelons, so this could have actually come from that.

This is good harmony, but the Rambos (being a Dottie song/and family singing) had the best harmonies ever.

She STILL looks good, especially for her age. But she was definitely quite the looker back then. She was probably 21-22 in this video…

@@michaelholman517minKC What about Kelly? Late teens or early 20's?

@@robertfair4596 Kelly and Janet have got to be about the same age. I do know that Janet was 18 when she joined the LeFevres. I believe that was in 1974 or 75. Rex bought the group around 78. So I would guess that Kelly and Janet were in that 20 to 22 range in this video. They were gorgeous back then, and they are still beautiful now. I think Janet retained her usefulness even longer than Kelly because she never had any children, but I do believe the bout with cancer took some of it away. Needless to say, they don’t look like they are in their 60s, but they are. What blows my mind is that Janet Paschal is basically my mothers age. I see Janet and I see my mom, and the two do not compute… 😂😂😂

@@robertfair4596 I just ran across an interview with Kelly, and I saw a couple of things online. Rex bought the group from Eva Mae in 1977 and renamed the group. Janet joined the LeFevres right out of high school in 1974. Kelly also joined the group right out of high school, but in 1977. Janet stayed till 1981, and joined the Jimmy Swaggart team in 1982. Janet is just over three years older than Kelly…

Can we have Larry Ford and the Dixie Echoes in Beautiful City? It is on the same Gaither Gospel Singing Jubilee VHS. Larry's solo is riveting.

it had to have been mid to late 70's. I think it was the Gospel Singing Jubilee. We always watched it while getting ready for Sunday school. I love it to this day.

The Rambos were the ones who originally recorded this song back in 1978 so it would had to have been post-78.

YES... I remember.... I was born "63" so it had to be when I was like 7 that I remember. My dad sang on that show sometimes w a couple of the groups he was in. I remember the Couriers were a staple on the shoe. Then Rex Humbard's show came on. :)

I wish I could find anything my father might be in. He sang w "The Faith Four" out of Philadelphia which became the Oak Ridge Boys. On the Gospel Jubilee show , he was with , The Minute Men, Garry Light Trio.?? I really miss my dad and would be so nice.
