I am studying Japanese, and you are right there are lots of similarities with Japanese and some African languages like lingala spoken in Congo, for example.
My japanese friend visited Kenya, and when locals spoke swahili, she thought it was Japanese. Similarly, when she spoke Japanese, Kenyans thought she spoke swahili.

Some chinese & vietnamese surnames are also similar to African Surnames. Especially Bantou people' s surnames😉
There's a Japanese name that is exactly the same as my African surname.

Compared to Mandarin, the Japanese pronunciation is easier.
On the other hand, the Chinese grammar is simple compared to Mandarin. 😁😆
But that's what is beautiful in learning a new language. Obstacles mustn't stop anyone from learning & improving.
We all speak before learning how to write, so let's not give up!💃🏾
All of those non-tonal languages seem to have something in common.
Khmer, Japanese, Indonesian, Swahili.

I love the curiosity of the Chinese people shown in this video. I am too curious about them since I saw my first Oriental person in real life in infant school, and I am still curious about them all to this day. I can't speak Japanese or Chinese, which is a shame, but I have to go to heir part of the planet to experience their culture.
Try China first, before S. Korea or Japan.

You are so right! Japanese names so sound like African names. Also there was a Japanese Samurai Swordsman known as Yasuke , he was caught sadly as a slave by Portuguese Slave Traders who were enroute to Japan and The Far-East to spread Christianity I think, in the 16th Century by Portuguese Jesuit Fathers. On getting to Japan they settled in and were welcomed by the Emperor of the time, but I think the Japanese started to see that these Jesuit Fathers were spreading Christianity and stealthily and gradually taking over the Land Of The Rising Sun. To this the Samurai Families decided to take matters in their hands and wiped out all the Jesuit Fathers who was with Yasuke . Yasuke An African was most likely caught off the coast of Nigeria called The Bight Of Benin. .He was very tall and when the Japanese killing of the Jesuit fathers ended, they did not know what to do with Yasuke, but one Samurai Sword Teacher decided to take him in and teach him the arts of the Samurai Swordsman. He was a legend from then on . I still believe there must be a link somewhere in history of The Japanese and Africans.

The 'racist' comment about skin color is heard very often here, it's like normal for them to say such things. Sometimes it happens in Africa too though.
@@brokelaowaiinchina how unfortunate that such backward attitudes still prevail because to me its a great insult to you as a person of melaninated skin (which is beautiful and purposefully adapted to your environment) but also to the God/Gods who made it that way. Nevertheless, I would still like to believe that a great portion of that unfortunate attitude is due to a general state of ignorance owing to the fact that the Chines have been mostly isolated from exposure to the rest of the world and especially Africa for a many years, so from an outsider's perspective who has never had any real interaction with Chines people I understand the power of racial misconceptions and stereo types amongst other things that divide us as humans. @@brokelaowaiinchina I have noticed alot Chinese and Asian women like black men but the amount of them seeing one, meeting one, socializing with one is like 0.001% not only in Asia but also western countries where Asians live in large numbers. Where as white men are constantly in contact with Chinese and Asians so the concept of the foreigner in the mind of Chinese is always ''white european'' But you can correct me if i am wrong in the context of your vieuws and experience in China...good video by the way bro keep it up.
@@onlineonlineaccount2368 From my experience, most Chinese and Korean girls are just curious about black people and foreigners in general(I don't know about Japan). When it comes to dating, most of them will still follow the classic Asian beauty standards(white skin=good-looking, dark skin=ugly). Therefore, the ones who want to date foreigners are looking for white guys. Some may initially want to date a black guy, but they'll not have the courage to do it after realizing the stigma that comes with it. A few times, I've had people(both male and female) say something along the lines of 'You're super handsome but too dark, you'd be perfect if you were white.' A small number of them don't care, they'll date a black or brown guy as long he is attractive, but they're rare and far apart, you need to live a certain lifestyle to meet them. I have met a few, some were both attractive and open-minded, but I realized they were not my type, our lifestyles were just too different. I think I will dive into this topic in detail in one of my future videos.
