- On a bright fall afternoon, I filmed 4K City Walks: Salt Lake City Capitol Hill Downtown Tour - Virtual Walk Walking Treadmill Video as a free tour around downtown and the historic areas and nearby residential area. I'm your tour guide on this free walking tour around downtown St George, UT. It's a quiet, clean, and beautiful city with friendly people all around. This St George tour starts on downtown and is a great treadmill video.
My apologies for the slight creak in parts. The Verticle Axis stabilizer needed to be oiled and I didn't notice it until I'd filmed a few vids. Thanks for your patience.

Wikipedia:
St. George is a city in and the county seat of Washington County, Utah, United States. Located in the southwestern part of the state on the Arizona border, near the tri-state junction of Utah, Arizona and Nevada, it is the principal city of the St. George Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city lies in the Sun Belt, at the northeasternmost part of the Mojave Desert, adjacent to the Pine Valley Mountains near the convergence of three distinct geological areas: the Mojave Desert, Colorado Plateau, and Great Basin. The city is 118 miles (190 km) northeast of Las Vegas and 300 miles (480 km) south-southwest of Salt Lake City on Interstate 15. The St. George area is well known for its natural environment and proximity to several state and national parks.
As of the 2018 U.S Census estimates, the city had a population of 87,178, and the St. George metropolitan area had an estimated population of 171,700. St. George is the seventh-largest city in Utah and most populous city in the state outside of the Wasatch Front.
In 2005, St. George was ranked the second fastest-growing metropolitan area in the United States, surpassed only by Greeley, Colorado. This trend continued through 2010, when growth slowed substantially due to the economic recession. Growth has since rebounded and St. George was declared the fastest growing metropolitan area in the U.S. in 2019. St. George ranked most secure and best place to live in the United States in 2006, and was rated among the top 10 best small cities in the country for business and careers by Forbes.

I enjoyed this tour. I lived in St. George from 1946 to 1968 and seeing this tour was an mixture of feelings. So much has changed since I left home as a young adult. A few landmarks were present, and some improvements have been added. It was a sight to see.
So glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for the information in your other comments. It will help others who want to know too and I enjoy learning more about these places too. -H

I'm British and I was in st George utah in july 2019 , my first impression of the town was that its probably the cleanest place I've ever seen with no litter or graffiti to be seen but also missing was the people walking the streets and maybe that was because in july it was above 100f everyday but the weather didnt stop this english man walking and discovering all the hikes, I basically choose to go to st george as it's got good hikes in the red rock desert and I had a bike ride to snow canyon as well a visit to zion but the town didnt have much to give in modern shops nor did the shopping centre , saying that it was well worth the 10 hour flight to vegas and the 2 hour shuttle trip to st george not forgetting the waiting in the Airport and totally took me 23 hours to reach st george , this didnt put me off cause I did book again and was bound for st geoŕge on September 14th 2020 but cov-19 and trump travel ban as stop my trip and is now cancelled , hopefully the world will cure its self and I'll be back next year , great video mate cheers ✌🇬🇧🇺🇸
So glad you enjoyed your time there. If you are flying into Las Vegas, you might also look at exploring Red Rocks just outside of town and Valley of Fire State Park about 45mins North. Hope you make it back. Stay safe.
You don’t want to be walking around in July!

Staying in the outskirts of the downtown area. Trying to find out what stores are downtown to determine if I want to Uber there. You may want to mention the type of stores you’re walking by next time. I can’t tell by your video.
Hi Eugene, great suggestion. Thanks so much. Mainly I saw restaurants and art shops and clothes stores. If that helps. -H
It’s on the Arizona border, not the Nevada border.
Right. I always forget about that little bit of Arizona between the two. Thanks for the catch. -H
Nais video
Thanks you! -H
Wide streets are another Brigham Young design. He wanted the streets to wide enough to turn a team of four or more horses around without stepping on someone’s personal property.
Oh, interesting. Thanks again. -H
Dixie nickname goes back to the origins of the town. During the civil war this western portion of the territory was cut off from the cotton fabrics and products from the original Dixie south eastern states. Brigham Young sent settlers to southern Utah area to try to grow their own cotton. Thus they named nicknamed it Dixie. The cotton mission was not successful, however. Too dry a heat and not enough water to grow cotton. The nickname stuck around however.
Wonderful info. Thanks for that. Love getting this kind of history. -H
