5:29 government offices and hospitals are actually my recommendation for free and very clean toilets here in Germany. If they have a front desk (more common since Covid), just politely ask where the visitor toilets (Besuchertoiletten) are. Otherwise they are usually not hard to find, somewhere on the ground floor near the entrance. Please shit responsibly and don’t leave a mess.
That's the logic here. 25°C inside, 33°C outside, yet some people believe opening the window and letting those 33 inside will somehow magically cool the interior.
I just came back from a week in Prague and compared to Rome it was chilly! Especially inside the metro stations it was super windy and chilly!! What a beautiful city it is! I loved it so much, was my first time there but I would love to come back soon! Everything was super easy, public transportation were very efficient and on time! Walking in Prague was amazing and I loved every single corner of it!
I just moved to Prague and I didn't know visiting Valdštejnská zahrada is only a 20min walk for me, I need to see these peacocks! 😄 thanks for the great videos, keep it up!
Day 3 of slowly making it out the hood: i ate burger king inside target high asfc & i smokë weed on my RUclips channel as my job ☄️ til im out the trenches 🦅🦴
Just visited Prague for the fist time, and I loved the tips you showed in your videos, especially about the hidden places. Keep up with the wonderful videos
Currently travelling through Europe have completed Lisbon Amsterdam London and now Prague....WOW just wow Prague is absolutely breathtaking in its natural charm historical beauty cleanliness and affordability....It strikes the perfect balance of historical old world beauty with contemporary modern life food and entertainment ...Easily The hidden gem of Europe.
visited Prague last month and your public transport tips helped us so much our hotel even had a card recommending your channel for authentic information
I've been in Prague for 2 days and today, after seeing every single one of Honest Guide videos I've actually been able to see this men walking through the streets of Prague. I'm really lucky I guess ahahs
The streetcars (aka trams) in my city used to also not have any AC. And then people on social media harassed the mayor to take a trip on one with his suit on in the summer. Now ALL public transportation has AC.
You guys are up there with Rick Steves for equally cool, consistently great tips and valuable information that make our valuable travel time easy, fun and efficient. Every video of yours is the best. Praha and we are lucky to have you! Thanks again Janek and Honza, the Good Guys! Cheers!
I was in prague in late november. Loved the winter there 😍 we only took the tram from the airport but then walked around the city. Don't forget to look up! Beautiful buildings ❤️
As I write this comment, I am in my last day on Prague. It has been an amazing trip, I went to the restaurants you reccomended, I went to Cerveny Jelen as well. I will definately come back here. Long live Prague
Ahoj, Hello, Привет. You didn't mentioned the most summer tip ever - Koupaliště Petynka. This is a public swimming pool - the best place in Prague in the summer where you can also buy Czech beer (the summer in Prague is really hot 🥵).
2:33 Actualy, Janek, those track numbers ARE important, but just not in everyday ordinary life. Track numbers are used on every station on every rail in this country (yes, metro is a rail of sort) and they are used in rail controlling and usually train announcing, like "train in direction xxx will depart from (platform number three,) track 4 (the bracket part used of course only where platforms are). With metro/subway this announcement would be pointless, so it is not made UNLESS there is something happening. Most often I meet it at C line between Pražského povstání and Florenc (two stations where metro can actually switch tracks), because whenever an interruption (usually planned) is in place, they may - besides subtitude X-C buses - leave one of those tracks in operation so people WILL get to main station (Hlavní nádraží) via metro. At that moment the announcements ARE using track numbers in both Czech and English, because there is usually one metro train going back and forth on one track so you announce that "TRAIN ON TRACK TWO IS HEADING TOWARDS FLORENC STATION" and anyone can clearly see the number above them. So there is a use for those numbers - it is not in use so often and on some stations definitely more than on the others, but the metro must be prepared for unexpected situation and those numbers are there for exactly those reasons. And, yes, track numbers are used in one more cases - when manipulation trains come through, they might refer to "train in direction Letňany is not suited for passenger transport" or "train on track 1 is not suited for passenger transport". Been hearing the first one more in recent years, but occasionaly hearing the latter one, too.
I've been watching these videos since 2017 and I feel i know so much about PRAHA that I would not be surprised with anything when I go back there for the third time... you guys should make a video about cool and hidden places but without actually showing them
2:10 Now that's a duly executed formality if I ever saw one. If it happened in Warsaw you'd also have designated platform numbers alongside track numbers. And most of the time it'd be 'Track 1 Platform 2" and "Track 2 Platform 1".
Vrtbovska Zahrada is a great garden to visit, near the Hellichova tram stop. A couple of nice bars nearby also for an ice-cold beer to cap off the visit!
Those are excellent tips; I wish I had this channel in 2016 as an exchange student in Prague :) Now, I will try to digest all of these videos and get the most out of them in the following 3 days. :) anyways, keep up the good work, děkuji buddy!
That hill you pointed at in the end. I walked there when I visited and took some amazing photos of the bridges and the city centre from there. there is also a beautiful park and much more to see. I had about 8 hours to spend during the day after I arrived early at the airport before continuing my travels to elsewhere in CZ. I did a route from the station to the museum - wenseclaus square - old town - charles bridge - castle (didn't go in there because there was a line) - some nice park - that hill (metronome) - back to the centre to find a bite to eat and then back to the station to continue my journey .
I'm going to be in Prague tomorrow (19/7/23)! I hope I see you around town. I've been watching your videos for months to learn about where we are going.
Travelling to Prague soon and already have a notebook full of notes from your videos! Do you have any tips/recommendations when it comes to museums in Prague? I don't have much time in the city and I'm specifically curious with museum of senses and the optical art museum ! Thanks so much and really hope to find you in some of the places you've suggested in your channel!
I've been living in Prague for 10 years and I swear I've never noticed that the metro signs have track numbers of them 😂 Such a useless information that my brain just filtered it out.
5:59 that must be the only free toilet of Czech Republic, because everywhere we went they want money for public toilets. So I tend to hold it, until we find a restaurant for lunch or dinner etc. Than we use the toilet inside the restaurant, which is free to customers.
Great tips! I think the Radnice is doing to ask YT to take your video down after city hall gets flooded with people needing to take "na malou" and "na velkou"
Will you do one for Fall/Autumn too? Also where’s a good place around Prague to watch hockey? The San Jose sharks will be playing the Nashville predators in October and need to know where to watch the game if one cannot find tickets
Janek, in 1989 I visited Prague as a student, staying at a campground in a cabin made out of large wooden barrel. It was in the outskirts or Prague, uphill. I wonder if these barrel-cabins still exist. If so, could you please help me locate this campground? Soon I'll be coming to Prague and want to bring back the old good memories. Thank you
I guess you mean camp Vlachovka or Na Vlachovce. It is not working for many years unfortunately. There was also a big and famous restaurant which is now demolished and will be replaced by flats.
Numbers on metro tracks are great if you with somebody who never was in prague and when you come to underground you just tell them we are going on number one now or two. Not everybody wanna know where whe are going like my family :D just take us there.
the most popular ones are probably a pool "Podolí", dam Hostivař and Aquapalace Praha (but they're popular maybe too much, so if you'd go there, you find large crowds of people everywhere... ) Honestly I would love some video with tips on that.
one reason is so that junkies and homeless dont spent days and nights there completely fucked up, its more clean and there is usually person who cleans it troughout the day for those money
Pro tip: if you search for Pivko instead of Pitko you get all the beer fountains in Prague.
If you type shitko insted you will see all the scam comments in this post.
That's a LEGENDARY TIP.
nice
run for mayor
And u will go workout if u search Fitko 😝

"Please shit responsibly" - love it
Or just go in a restaurant or hotel.
I actually find it a bit awkward, to go inside government buildings as a tourist. So I would never have gotten the idea at all 🤣
Here is a VERY useful tip -> If the trams have AC, dont open the windows! People tend to do that all the time, rendering the AC completely useless
That's the logic here. 25°C inside, 33°C outside, yet some people believe opening the window and letting those 33 inside will somehow magically cool the interior.
Retired american ex-pat musician in Prague 8 years. Your videos are a wonderful help in adjusting to such a different, and much loved, country.

As a Prague citizen I love how u guys love our city
I really wish your czech channel had subtitles. It might really help with learning czech.
I could learn you Czech if u wanted / Mohl bych tě naučit česky kdybys chtěl :)
I just moved to Prague and I didn't know visiting Valdštejnská zahrada is only a 20min walk for me, I need to see these peacocks! 😄 thanks for the great videos, keep it up!
It's way more haha. From the metro stop Vysehrad to the actual vysehrad is already 10 minutes

Vysehrad, as I think I commented on this channel multiple times is amazing, especially if you want to watch a summer thunder storm roll through!
The streetcars (aka trams) in my city used to also not have any AC. And then people on social media harassed the mayor to take a trip on one with his suit on in the summer. Now ALL public transportation has AC.
This tip couldn’t have come at a better place as I’m visiting the beautiful city of yours in a few weeks. Thank you as always!

1:50 I will be cycling through Czech Republic next week, so thank you very much for that tip!
sounds like a supercool idea. Which route are you taking?
Just don't cycle in Prague if you value your life.
I was in prague in late november. Loved the winter there 😍 we only took the tram from the airport but then walked around the city. Don't forget to look up! Beautiful buildings ❤️
There Is no tram at Prague airport!!! 🤬
@@Majty. sorry haha. We took the bus and then the tram. Much better than a taxi 😁
Public transport and public toilets. Just amazing stuff

I'm going on my honeymoon to the Czech Republic in August/September and we would LOVE a video about the best ice cream places in Prague! 😍
