I was a NYPD cop in the South Bronx from the early 80's to my retirement in the mid 2000"s. And we would tell the new rookies fresh on the streets of the South Bronx, there are many things to remember out here to survive but one of the most important things to remember is.....always, always wave to Mister Softee and never ever give Mr. Softee a hard time. Mr. Softee always did the right thing by us and the neighborhood!!! Always look out for Mr. Softee!!!!!
Nothing’s better than being outside on a hot summer day and hearing an ice cream truck approach your house and the adrenaline running to get some cash to catch the truck before he drives off
My local og Mr Softee passed a few years back but sold it to his number 2 a young Spanish buck and he's killing it since he took over. But og was like 75 lol he was my parents Mr softee. He'd give out free cones at the end of summer. God rest his soul
Had 2 in my neighborhood in the 70's. Both drivers were awesome. Sal and Franco. They'd stop on my block and always lookout for us kids. Sometimes there were like 30 of us cramming to get stuff. Those sweltering hot NJ summers were brutal but it never mattered with Softee around. Now there's only one truck left in town. Same family still owns it. Every summer I go back to NJ and never miss the truck. This is a good part of life.
Many believe that the Mister Softee Ice Cream truck is an NYC thing. Yet, actually this company was founded and still operates in Philadelphia. Mister Softee was founded in 1956 by brothers William Aloysius Conway (1922-2004) and James Francis Conway (1927-2006) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
I am From Puerto Rico There's is A Company Called Mantecados Rosita and is Becoming Famous they Started the Company Since 1987 Celebrating 35 years the Location of The Company in Yauco Puerto Rico in the South west of The Island I Grew up with it and Its Growing and Growing I am Always With TEAM# ROSITA
I remember Sunday, April 2nd, 2023. I was getting ready for night church. The ice-cream truck came. I ran outside in my church outfit and bought ice-cream for myself and Daddy. Daddy. I got a strawberry shortcake ice-cream bar and Daddy got a chocolate milkshake. Zach bought ice-cream for Jeremiah. It was a small chocolate ice-cream cone.
I could not work on a route through a neighborhood providing ice cream to the residents. The job could be enjoyable - meeting people throughout the neighborhood. Bringing a little happiness to a child - and children at heart would be great. It is the 'digital mu-sick" that would DRIVE ME CRAZY! By the end of the day - I would be a raving lunatic!
I' m currently eating my ice cream that i got from an ice cream truck. Quick storytime! I believe it was summer, I was playing outside, and I heard that tune, but it wasn't getting louder. SO I ran to the noise, and it was an ice cream truck, but I didn't have any money and I was far away from my home so I just let it go past me. I still regret it.
What’s the point of buying an ice cream truck franchise when you could just start your own ice cream truck? It’s not like there’s any dominant brand out there, which is the only real advantage franchising provides for franchisees.
It's unfortunate that it cost over $100k for a "refurbished truck" (not new). Then they stick you with that 25% franchise fee! That "$900" just turned into $500... don't forget overhead, gas, commissary fees, taxes etc. Too bad he can't keep All of it!
Idiot . It's those craccas that make everything work . From the Softee ice cream which is their brand to everything else that's sold off the truck . All Softee . It is a good deal and a easy job if you know anything bout making money .!!
Capt. Jack Sparrow dude we have Ice cream trucks called Mr Whippy. They are basically the same thing Do you not have them in your area? They come round every street where I live. They come every day
Years ago when Muhammad Ali Muhammad Ali the fighter or Cassius Clay whichever one you want to call him when he would win a fight in Louisville Kentucky he would take out the Mr Frosty's trucks it's part of History every time he would win a fight he would give all the little kids ice cream the Louisville Times look it up you should have it in your one of y'all some of y'all old articles of Muhammad Ali giving out ice cream to the kids when he want to fight
Fu_k i'ld buy it in a heart beat . All you hater's gotta hate , on anything . How many of you yo-yo's run ice cream tks of different brand ? A bunch of u i bet with a no break lease . Suck it up loser's .!!

Early 70's got in trouble with my mom many times buying ice cream sandwiches from Mr Softee "to close to dinner", Grand Island NY
People calling out bacteria filled ice cream yet ya still eat dirty junk food from the deli everyday and say nothing about that. Hypocrites

Marshall Mathers they did I don't even know why this video is up
Doesn't mean every truck is dirty. And it was a coliform test.
nick - That particular Mr Softee franchise did in fact fail. And don't belittle a coliform test.
Yeah, I just saw them on CBS news. The guy got angry on the reporter.
@@GH123XL That wasn't a Mr. Softee truck.
Dude you should put a sign that says open for business in Mr. Softee the ice cream truck
The truck with a driver who yelled at Arnold Diaz wasn't a Mr. Softee truck. It was a decommissioned one.
