I actually somewhat like the direction for design this character took. The numbers on everything a little absurd but i think gief with a better neutral and neutral conversions and no oki on SPD would've been really intersting in SFV
Actually I like how he works in SFV, when he still has oki on heavy SPD, his V skill 1, and his air SPD of course which is almost an Ultra 2 but everytime
EX SPD is an interesting case. I think the post-combo options were unintended at first, in vanilla Omega you would restand them in this situation á la El Fuerte's Tortilla, allowing you to combo into stuff like normal xx special, EX stomping, LP SPD (For some reason you were in a throwable state. Could never get U1 to reach tho), or even another EX SPD. Double EX SPD combos could definitely end you outright. Also you can (Unless they removed it) use the grounded headbutt to extend some juggles, at the very least close HK in the corner.
Yeah I remember combo videos of that stuff but I only have the latest version and now it seems to be st lk, cr lk, and sweep. Also f hp still juggles from close hk but I can't find any combo from that except one hit of ex hand and doing that combo is harder, weaker, and has the same cost as just doing hk to ex hand

Omega Gief is really really weird. His damage is ridiculous but his ability to generate momentum is dead. Also Zangief vortex is dead. With the nerf to mobility and huge dmg increase, Omega Gief takes the mighty glacier trope and takes the trope up to 11. His changes are interesting but he feels off. If you changed his oki back to how they were in USF4, Omega Gief would be quite solid. But as things are, Omega Gief is an all or nothing Grappler who seems like either a joke or the biggest pain in the ass.
@@Copperhell144 He has that potential but still has a really hard time getting in to get that hit that starts the vortex and Gief lacks red focus. If changing his oki back to USF4 would be way to strong, then revert walk and dash speed back to USF4 because as things are, Omega Gief feels really off to me.
No worries in getting in. He has the new armor move where he doest get any white life. Personally i like how they made zangief a more neutral play char rather than a 50 50 chance char.

I think the Dudley matchup just got event worse.
