- Jereme Townsend, the former lover of Laurie Shaver, testified in her murder trial Thursday. Despite the defense team saying he was the real person who shot and killed Laurie’s husband, Michael, he said he never was around Michael, never had been in an altercation with Michael, and did not shoot or kill Michael.

Florida mom Laurie Shaver was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in 2020 after her husband, Michael Shaver, had been missing since 2015. His body was discovered buried beneath a concrete slab in Laurie Shaver’s backyard. In a shocking twist, the couple’s daughter confessed to the crime, claiming she shot her father to protect her mother, who allegedly said he was abusing her at the time. However, in opening statements, Laurie Shaver’s attorney said her lover, Jereme Townshend, shot and killed Michael. If convicted, Laurie Shaver could face life in prison.

I find his testimony credible. That said, he should have remained faithful to the woman he was married to rather than skirting around behind her back with anyone else. If he'd done that, he might not be in the position of having to have all this "dirty laundry" brought out in a trial or having himself being accused by the defense attorney for the defendant of actually being the one who killed Mike Shaver. I felt really sorry for the wife of Mr. Townsend having to testify in this bad piece of business her husband brought into their lives by association with Laurie. That Laurie is a real piece of work.

When we filed a restraining order against him, on the stand, he said he was a sniper. Here, he denies it.
