- High quality audio. This was the last single officially released during The Stone Roses' lifetime.
"Crimson Tonight" was a live recording of four tracks culled from Second Coming, played during a concert at Pairc Ul Chaolmh, County Cork, Feile Festival, Republic of Ireland August 1995. (more)
Squire was best British guitarist of the 90s for me
+pawnsacrifice1 definately, followed by Bernard Butler.
in terms of technical ability probably (and certainly who came out of the indie/alternative music scene)
Of all time.
McCabe was better
Squire, graham coxon, noel.. and more
IDK what the critics say bout Second Coming, its one of the best albums of all time
Hunnert per cent
One of the best Stone Roses songs
I was at this gig - great night
I love Crimson Tonight. I wish there was a an official whole concert's worth of live SC tracks. The quality of this release is superb! Bootlegs are OK, but I would love more soundboard recordings.
Who cares if the singing isn't brilliant when you've got a groove like this?
Exactly 💯
Would it have been better with Reni? Hell yeah! But I'm still glad we have this. They were on fire this night.
I wish Squire was known by more people. He’s incredibly underrated and I’m always so captivated by his slinky style of playing🤤🤤🤤
Absolutely. Genius player but he doesnt seem that interested in playing anymore. Hes doing his art but its such a shame after Jimi he is possibly my favourite
Honestly think Maddix is an amazing drummer. Good choice following Reni. Saw them on this tour and they were tight and amazing.
The stuff from Second Coming was great. I don't know why it wasn't appreciated at the time.
Best song off second coming
I hear what you are saying re Brown, but it was right for the time and the Band! One of their very best, and Squires is magnificant. The EP is worth paying for, you can capture the whole atmosphere, brill.
Leave the lad alone, he's got half a point. Brown's singing was never great live with the Roses but he was great on most studio recordings (i.e. Where Angels Play, Going Down, Tears etc..). What people are overlooking is the fact that if Ian Brown was not Ian Brown, voice an' all, the Roses would not be the Roses. Simple. And a massive shout out to two of the best rhythmists of all time - Mani and Reni. And one to Squire too - fuck, there's just too much too love in this band. Enjoy.
Veering more to the Rock riffs of Jimi Hendrix, even the music improvisers themelves go there, great tune!!
Quality tune nearly as good as love spreads!
+10 excellent
They weren't into it anymore. Brief but a blazing moment that took the past with it
I was 15
During that tour, it seemed to me whenever they played second coming tracks browny didn't seem bothered about singing them in tune, like flat singing on purpose!!!! Still i saw alot of smallish gigs for this tour and they were still FUCKIN AMAZING but I am bias ha ha
So right
Am ok u remember the hat and long socks
too fucking right (;
Long socks I singing I no
@Acertainfurrysomeone Very true, that.
Roses without Reni is like * insert a metaphor*
With NO Messiah drummer there can be no religion
It's like The Stone Roses but without Reni.
Like fish with no chips, like a cheeseburguer without cheese geez...
It's like the Beatles without Ringo.
This was Noels Be Here Now cocaine prototype. It's still good though, Second Coming is better than BHN
This is OK, but for me it just isn't the Roses. That band was over when Reni left.
Wade Barrett brought me here.
just not cricket!
Criticise me as much as anybody likes but #AllAboutTheRoses #OasisDontCompare
