    Rant. I ordered an Inergy Flex Power Bank last March. Initially, I was told this product would ship in May. When I hadn't received it by June, the company promised it was due to the supply chain issue and that the product would ship in August. When September came, the new deadline was December. Today I received an email saying, "Gee, we hope to ship by next March or April. Thanks for your patience." Umm, NOOOO!!!!! I'll take that full refund, thanks! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH INERGY...THEY DON'T DELIVER! I'm happy to take my business to a company that CAN deliver, thank you very much!

    If you don't need that absolutely incredible performance of the Titan, which I think of as a turn-key off-grid cabin solution, I could see this system from Inergy being just about perfect. It fills in a niche between the weanie "solar generators" and the Titan, for not much more than the biggest solar generator options. I don't like how slowly it charges with solar, out of the box, but it's great that you can scale that up, as needed. All in all, it looks like a great unit that I may wind up buying, once they work out any bugs.

      @@gypsyreid35 There are 6 AC outlets, so you can power your fridge from one of them. if your gas generator has a DC output, then you can charge this with it, but buying solar panels one time is much cheaper in the long run than if you want to always just use that gas generator to charge it.

    Great job explaining the system. Not sure I fully understand the way the solar charge controllers (superboost modules) work, but I understand enough to make an informed decision. Could use a bit more information on how to charge from a vehicle or connect (if possible) to an extra AGM or LiFePo battery pack.
    I would really find useful is a combo of the AC and DC units. If I could get the AC unit with 13.8Vdc regulated output at 30A would be absolutely great. 10A will not do it. Maybe an add on module....

I will be powering a large deep freezer, fridge, laptop, and cell phones. Do I need to buy any extra cables or adapters? When fully charged, how long will it power the devices I mentioned above? I don't know much about power and generators. I am grateful for any advice or info people can share.

    • @warrenpamment
      @warrenpamment 4 года назад

      hi, you can buy one of these plugs you plug into your PowerPoint, and then your device plugs into it and it has an LCD display showing you how much power your device uses. You could also read the compliance plate which is on the back or bottom of most electrical products. After knowing how much power it uses you can work out how long the battery will feed it with power before depleted, for example, 1 flex battery stores just over 1000wat, if you plug your fan-forced heater into your device and put it on low heat it will use about 1kw which is 1000watt on high setting 2kw 2000watt this means on low heat you can run the heater for 1 hour until the battery is depleted. heaters use a huge amount of power and are just an example. another example would be your fridge ours uses about 130watt when running just remember fridges probably only run for 10 minutes every hour and then switch off unless you got the door open dropping the temp so to work it out you would get your calculator and type in 1000(battery) divide by 130 (fridge) = 7.69 meaning your fridge running all the time with the door open would take around 7.5 hours to deplete one flex battery. Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, hope that helps if you go to eBay type in Power Energy Monitor buy one of them only 20 bucks

    • @TimYorty
      @TimYorty 4 года назад

      you may want to consider adding two more 100 watt solar panels to your system. If you look on each appliance there should be a plate or label that shows the watts or amps rating for the appliance. If it shows watts that means that is how many watts the appliance would use if running continuously for 1 hour. Then calculate how many hours you would need to run it. If your appliance only shows amps, that's how many amps it pulls per hour if running continuously.
      Then you just need to convert from amp hours to watt hours - the formula is (Amp hours)*(Volts) = (Watt hours). For example, if you have a 89 Amp hour battery rated at 12 Volts, the power is 89Ah * 12V = 1068Wh (like with the Flex battery). So this means that each Flex battery will provide you approx. 89 amp hours of reserve power or 1068 watt hours.
      Once you total up your expected energy demand per hour, you will know your answer about how many batteries you really need. Remember - more batteries also means you need to keep them charged, which probably means you need more solar panels.
      It sounds like with two batteries you'll be close, but you need more than 2 panels to keep them charged unless you have another charging source (like a wall outlet), but if power is out for a long time, you'll need solar panels.

      For now Tesla does not support car to grid, but there is massive demand from most Tesla owners. So they may add that in in the next few years but today's (or next year's cyber truck) is not likely to have vehicle to grid capability.

    Newbie here, so take it easy on my LOL. Our off-grid cabin would use about 30,000 kwh a day. I just came across this Inergy product. Using approximately 30 batteries, would that provide enough power for one day? Maximum single item could be an AC unit in a trailer that is 1500 watts and 3000 on startup. Also, do the batteries have to stack on one another or can you put them in stacks of 10 with a cable connection between the stacks. Thanks!

    • @fullmoonadventureclub
      @fullmoonadventureclub  4 года назад +1

      Hi Andy. The inergy flex is not what you want for that application. It would work in theory but your really pushing the limits of the 1500 watt inverter. You need to buy normal lithium batteries, panels, a inverter, ect, and build your own system. It will be cheaper and will handle more power by far. I can help you choose some good options if you want. The inergy flex is designed to be portable. You need a more robust permanent install in my opinion.

    • @AndrewJohnson149
      @AndrewJohnson149 4 года назад +1

      @@fullmoonadventureclub Thank you for the feedback. That's what I kind of figured, but found the Inergy Flex 1500 pretty interesting. Thinking of getting a battery bank going and charging with my 1 Honda EU2200i generators and maybe a couple of solar panels. We'll also want to build a pole barn type structure with roof only for our trailer and would rather put solar panels on that roof and off of the ground. I hate piece mealing over time, but probably the only way we'll be able to afford it. Figuring the battery bank will be the most expensive component. Since we will only be using the cabin 3-4 weeks a year and 5-7 long weekends, my concern is the sustainability of a battery bank. Thoughts on batteries? Thanks again for the feedback and I am enjoying your videos.

Unless I'm wrong, expansion battery cannot be used as a stand-alone multi-use device. Inergy makes good product but I can see they subscribe to the Apple business model of ALL proprietary use, which limits the consumers use.

      Darn it I meant to mention that in the video. No more 30 amp plug but they do have an adapter. Apparently the 110 volt plugs will handle the full power of the inverter so you don't necessarily need the 30 amp plug anymore. I was sad to see it go also.

      fullmoonadventureclub the adapter says the outlet is only 12.5 amps. Most of us rv users who have microwaves, a wifes hair blower, wont be able to use the flex unless we only use one item at a time. Some hair blowers will exceed the outlet by itself. It would be a pain to not be able to turn on your microwave when the pump and/or furnace is running. IMO the flex does not cover RV users very well. Titan is the way to go and also be able to run your A/c for short periods of time. Inergy needs to listen to RV users, like Titan people did.

    can this run gaming pc for long hours?

    • @fullmoonadventureclub
      @fullmoonadventureclub  4 года назад

      I am guessing your gaming PC power supply is around 600 watts. So with one battery should be able to play for around two hours. If you have 600 watts of solar connected you can play all day and then two hours into the night. If you added extra batteries your time would increase. The great thing about this setup is it that you can expand it as much as you want. You also want to keep in mind that your gaming PC is not going to use 600 watts continuously it will depend on how hard you're running the system or your computer. A lot of times they don't run at the full 600 watts so your time would probably be a lot longer than that. My best guess would be about 3 hours maybe even 4 on a single battery.

    I just checked on the status of the order I placed in May 2021. I was told that they are just now filling orders for March 2020 and they have no Idea when I will get my unit. If you order this now you may not get it until 2023.

    Dont preorder! I know its tempting but you are not likely going to get a better deal. Just a few months after it comes out they will be giving you a free panel or something for the same price. I gave into the hype and thought they were giving me a sweet deal before to preorder...

    I applaud Inergy for their innovative new system. But they still have major problems:
    1. Can not draw more than 1500 watts max, no matter if you have 1 or 96 batteries.
    2. Still not using MC4 or Anderson Powerpole for solar port connection
    3. Limited to 400 watts solar charge per controller or 1200 if you buy a supercharger for each battery.
    I own a Kodiak unit and like it so I'm not brand bashing here, but I have to say that the Titan solar generator, which I also have, is IMHO, a better real world unit. Each battery is twice the capacity of the Flex unit, it has true 3000 watts continuous output plus a 6000 watt surge capacity, and can handle 2000 watts of solar input with the built in twin MPPT controllers without having to buy any additional equipment. I do like that the Flex batteries are half the weight of the Titan units but then again they are half the capacity too.
    I guess it all boils down to what you are planning to use the unit for. To me the ability to pull 3000 watts continuously with the Titan sold me on it.

      Valid points. I too was wondering why you'd be able to connect 96 batteries but not have an option for a bigger inverter. However, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they don't have a 3000 watt model in the works. I think energy is really still trying to keep their system very portable and at 26.5 lb it's only a pound and a half more than the Apex so that's definitely impressive. I have not had a chance to review the Titan generator but have heard a lot of talk about it. Maybe I'll try and get my hands on one so I can review it for everybody. Glad you're liking your Kodiak. I still have my Kodiak and Apex and they're both running strong despite my abuse. I would love to see a whole house solution from energy as I enjoy their products thus far. Thanks for your comments and happy camping.. jim
