Undoubtedly one of the most memorable races in the pool at London 2012 was Zhang Tao's (China) sensational swim in the men's 100m backstroke S6. Not only did he smash the Paralympic record but he also broke the world record. His reaction said it all.
The International Paralympic Committee's vision is to make for an inclusive world through Para sport. Our mission is to lead the Paralympic Movement, oversee the delivery of the Paralympic Games and support members to enable Para athletes to achieve sporting excellence.

Unbelievable 😯 i really admire their spirit, dedication to the game. Hats off to all these Paralympic players.
I’m in absolute awe of these swimmers and especially Zheng! He created his own back stroke to fit his disability and he set a new world record ! Amazing sportspeople right here in this video! The strength of the human spirit is phenomenal. I feel so positive after watching Paralympics!
omg, what an inspiration. all the people w their full set of limbs and mental faculties complaining about their circumstances while here’s a man w no arms swimming and setting a world record!
Wow, just wow. I was a competitive swimmer my entire childhood and I know how hard it is to train and succeed. His talent blows my mind as do ALL the other swimmers. Bravo!
Zhing tao salute💯❤️👌
I cant swim worth a damn even with all my limbs. I just flap about like a drowning bird no matter how much or well I'm taught in swimming techniques....
Watching this, I see that some people are just meant to be great at something regardless of the hand they're dealt by fate; it's simply a part of them that nothing can get in the way of.
You can see his streamline so well it’s so graceful and that technique is mesmerizing I rewatch 😊

Wow unbelievable stuff
He turned his disability into power.
this might be a dumb question, but for zheng tao and athletes with disabilities similar to him, is there a difference when he does the butterfly and breaststroke or are they the same?
