- A Fusion of Jazz and Funk, 'it's called Junk!'
Here's a funky remix of 'Robots' (2005)
I've always loved the animation, creativity and the amazing James Brown inspired soundtrack by John Powell ever since its release during my childhood. And of course, who could forget Robin Williams' hilarious improv! I hope I've captured the film's comedy, heart and imagination.
Composed mainly using sounds from the film's soundtrack, sound fx, vocals and dialogue. Composed also using overdubs of 8 String Ukuleles, Electric Guitars, Electric Basses, Fretless Guitars, Virtual Electric Keyboards and a lot of James Brown vinyl samples.
Another groovy remix Dodger! ❤
I loved Robots as kid! Robin Williams was so funny as Fender and his voice works so well in these remixes. You notice how good it is in Pogo’s Aladdin remixes too!
We miss you Robin 😢
Cheers dude! Had fun memories of his work that film as well. I’ve got a jazz record by the great Bobby mcferrin and Robin Williams has a guest appearance on it. Hilarious stuff. ❤
Dont forget his voice in Pogos Doubtfire remix!
This is a fusion of jazz and funk... called "junk."
Listened to this an ungodly amount of times, as well as watched the movie multiple times in the past. It took me until NOW to realize their eyebrows are attached to a little line on their face and is actually floating abit in front of them. I love this movie lol
Same bro, ever since this remix came out I’ve been replaying it so many times everyday. I swear it’s in my playlist 😂
I think I found my new Pogo! 🥰
18 years later and I still quote "Who are THESE losers?"
Really?
@@PeanutBuny27 I mean, I joke with my dad's music being 'a fusion of jazz and funk: junk' 🤣
“We, sir-“
RIP 🪦 robin Williams the best voice actor ever of my childhood in 2005 when I was 6 to 7 years old
There's so much emotional depth within your remixes (and remix videos) Travis, your use of the unique sound designs of each film and your own personal music style wow me each time! I never know what masterpiece you have planned next!
One of the most underrated movie ever really wish they would of made a sequel
I hope some of the animators behind this movie see this!
It’s beautiful!
Still haven't seen this movie, but I keep coming back to this remix as one of my favorites. The samples are just so crisp and the melodies you have made are so solid! I love it. My favorite bit is the "upgrades! Upgraaades" bit .
1:52 - 2:24
My gosh this was my favorite section!! If you ever make a perfect loop of that section, I would listen to it for HOURS!🔥🔥
I agree
I'm a simple man. I see Travis Glover, I click. Incredible work as always, you always manage to capture my childhood!
Oh my god never expected anyone to make a remix or Robots! It's amazing!
THANK YOU FOR THIS❗I love Robots movie and remixes, great job
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Holds up well today.
The quality and pace of your uploads is astounding! You are the beating heart of this genre right now, Travis.
I love how u always make remixes of underrated animated movies, ur remixes make me want to rewatch my childhood movies again.
U got the feel of the movie right into ur song which I think is so amazing, well done keep up the awesome work!
How many times have I listened to this?....yes
music video fits the song itself like a glove. great work here all around!!!
Wow I've listened to the instrumental version of this on SoundCloud. I had no idea that this was gonna be your next remix.
u have no idea how excited I got when this appeared on my feed a week ago 💀💀
🎶 siiinging in🎶 that just hits all the fuzzy feel goods :D 2:12
So much nostalgia!!! Great work my dude
Cheers dude 🤖
Holy cow, the nostalgia in this is unreal. Fantastic work as usual, Travis!
Good god this rules.
I loved this movie and it's been forever since I last saw it, thanks for making such an amazing track with it. Now I better watch it again...
Though I kinda wish it ended at 5:38. On one hand, I find myself thinking if it ended with that high note and stopped right thereafter, it would somehow elevate the whole experience for me, on the other I think the joke it ends on does however fit perfectly and should be there
This movie is so underrated, and your remix of this is amazing.
You manage to make me feel nostalgic about a movie I've never seen. Going to have to watch this now. Amazing work as always!
Nostalgia overload holy 😮
Amazing remix, you are so talented! I miss Blue Sky Studios a lot, it's such a shame they are gone. This is definitely one of my favourite of their films, along with the Ice Age films.
This one has grown on me, another banger indeed
I love your stuff so much. A genuine excitement when you make something new! Thanks for creating!
Nice work! 🔥
Another brilliant piece of art thankyou so much 💚💚 xx
Awesome remix Travis.
It's AWESOME! Plus you've unlocked a memory for me because I'd completely forgotten this movie existed! A good little return to childhood. ^^
Talking about childhood, I hope one day to see my favorite movie on your channel, it's Over the Hedge. This movie really deserves a good remix and much more attention!
i’m in love with all of your remixes. this one is so groovy too. big fan 🕺
Amazing remix for an amazing movie, good job again Travis!! Will this be releasing on Spotify soon like your other songs?
Eventually, yes. Thanks for listening! 🎉
Oh... they brought it back :)
This was perfect timing for me. I was a day into a Disneyland trip when this premiered, and I listened to it on the last couple days I was there.
A new star on the horizon!
God, this remix is so good n funky! Great job my friend 👍🏾
Outstanding job remixing one of my all-time favorite movies!
sweet jesus, this is good stuff travis. i think you've been making a lot more recent strides in making your remixes more characteristic and feeling like the movies they came from.
what james brown songs were sampled here, dare i ask? this sounds so unbelievably layered.
Cheers dude! i used some samples from the album 'Gravity' (1985), and then 'Get up offa that thing'
That’s a great personalized touch to these. Makes it feel like there’s more passion and reason for why the media was chosen.
Thank you for showing this movie love with this remix! It’s amazing! ❤
This was niiiice
So much nostalgia I love this ❤️❤️❤️❤️
MY CHILHOOD!! THANK YOU SO MUCH TRAVIS!!💙
This. Is beautiful.
The sound effect departments of these movies might appreciate these remixes.
You are an artist ❤ thank you for doing what you do 🎉🎉🎉
Great remix! :)
Great job Travis!! :)
You could probably release an album of instrumentals and I’d buy it!
Fantastic job! May I ask what program you used to re-pitch the vocals? It sounds really good!
@@unconditional--love thanks dude. I use Logic Pro’s built in pitch correction plugins and tuning effects
@@TravisGlover-TheArtfulDodger wow! I had no idea logic came with pitch-correction plug ins!
insane!
Gorgeous ❤❤❤
This is very good and the movie Robots will be 19 years old this year also this is my favorite part of the remix 0:23-0:59
Also R.I.P Robin Williams.
Also I have a question that's not related to this remix what happened to the Paddington remix from soundcloud??
Thanks dude, glad you enjoyed it.
In terms of my Paddington Remix, It's complicated!
I've decided to shelve the remix for now because I've unfortunately lost the Logic Project for that remix! If I needed to add vocals and to start mixing the track, I would unfortunately need to start from scratch. However: I've still got some of the files, samples and the film in backup. But for now, I've got some other projects in the works at the moment that I'm currently working on.
I've also taken it down from Soundcloud because I'm not in the position of upgrading my Soundcloud account, as the free Soundcloud accounts give you limited uploads; so I did this to allow for more remixes to be uploaded.
I may come back to it in the future though.
@@TravisGlover-TheArtfulDodger Aw man that sucks that you lost haft of the remix because I really hoping for the finished project but since you have others in the work I can't wait to hear them .
@@redbricky6467 thanks dude 👏
I hope John Powell finds this.
(As long as we don’t harass him about it.)
John Powell’s the goat of film music, among the greats like John Williams and Hams Zimmer so I respect his music a lot.
