The trailhead lies just shy of an hour's drive from Seattle. Covering a little over 4 miles with a manageable elevation gain of 1169 feet, this hike is perfect for families and I've even seen furry companions. Its proximity to Seattle makes it convenient, but be prepared for crowds as it's quite popular. The bad, some hikers disrupt the serene atmosphere by playing loud music along the trail. Parking is available without needing a pass, but spaces fill up rapidly. For those aiming to catch the sunrise during late winter or early spring, leaving Seattle by 4:30 am is essential, with sunrise occurring at 7:17 am. During our visit, parking was scarce, and we secured the second-to-last spot by 5:45 am. The trail is clear of snow and debris, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey.

Hi! What time did you start the hike? How many hrs before sunrise?
About an hour 1l2 before sunrise. So sunrise this weekend is at 0530. I would be at the trailhead at 0400am. I hope you have a wonderful spring and summer. Take care yourself.
