I only need one fan that is placed in the right place. Allow me to move the fan into the right place and then secure it there. This customizability would be awesome. One fan, let me place it where should be.
This is a very interesting product, but one thing is currently holding me back from supporting it which is possible compatibility issues with certain laptop models such as some of the Asus RoG Zephyrus models which prop themselves up with the hinge. Have you tested with any of these models to see if that hinders the performance of the turbofrost?
I want to buy it but I haven't seen a good review yet. Tech Tyrial didn't make an extensive video and tested it with a laptop that has a low TDP, so naturally their own laptop can cool itself. It would be good to test it on one with a higher TDP, like a 3070ti 150W with a 45W+ CPU, and see if it manages to avoid temperatures over 80 degrees with a constant load of 150W on the GPU and 30W or more on the CPU. I'm very interested in the product; I have the iets gt 600 and it reduces temperatures well, but the noise is annoying and it has startup problems (the fan doesn't turn on when I want, I manage to turn it on somehow). I wonder if this one is better in that regard. It would be great to see a table showing how much noise it produces in each ventilation mode with dB metrics. If I compare 2800 RPM of Illano vs. 4x 4000 RPM, do they both achieve the same cooling? I have many doubts; I hope this base will be better, but I'll wait to see more reviews before buying it, and if it truly manages to cool effectively, I'll gladly pay that price.
No, what we need if a big improvement in CPU efficiency. Take a look at that video again. See the GPU utilization and wattage? And the CPU utilization and wattage? That 4060 has a wattage limit of 115W+25w boost. I believe it peaks around 90w and 95% utilization in the video. CPU draws between 65-80w. That's what stopping the GPU from boosting higher. Not sure if something with a 175w 4090 would do much better. So better CPU efficiency is the solution. Or an overall higher power draw, but at that point your lugging around a 500+w charger. Of course this is just one specific use case. Cyberpunk is heavy on both CPU and GPU. Something either CPU or GPU bound can benefit greatly from the extra boost cooler temperatures enable.
@@Waggel86 CPUs that exceed 55W are like ovens. In such cases, current laptops come with an option to increase fan speed as a solution. The KLIM could help reduce noise and support cooling. Talking about the 4060 seems "meh" because they consume very little and don't require external cooling. If the CPU overheats in this setup, is it worth using it between 60W and 80W for gaming? Is there a big difference between 80W and 45W? Well, not really, if it's Intel, you could roast meat on it. Not everyone has a 4060; some have a 3070ti, 3080, 3080ti, 4080, 4090 that require extra cooling for those 150W-185W.
you don't need this if you keep your laptop clean, the dust in your laptop wont go anywhere and this is more of a temporary relief than anything. Dust clogs up your laptop's ventilation system, hindering airflow and causing heat to get trapped inside. No matter how fancy your cooler is, if your laptop's internals are caked with dust, it's still going to struggle with heat management. open up your laptop (if you're comfortable doing so), and gently clean out those vents and fans. Trust me, your laptop will thank you. The people who design gaming laptop (one that run hotter) optimized their cooling system without the need of a external cooler. If your laptop is hot, again just clean it normally.
Totally Agree with this. Ive used laptops everyday for more than 15 years now. I have a cooling just as an elevation or if i wanna keep it on my lap without burning my thighs/Blocking the bottom vents. Also, the fans in the cooling pad can disrupt the built in fans on the laptop causing them to run ineffeciently
If you know how to use all the juice of your laptop (like pushing an AMD Ryzen 7 4700U to 40W TDP), you surely need something like that, and for some gaming laptop, dropping temps just from 85C to 75C can make a huge improvement. No laptop is gona settle on its own at 75C if you use all of its beef.
Thank you for your comment. It's definitely best practice to regularly clean the laptop and remove the dust. But it does not mean a cooler won't make a difference. First because it has a thick dust filter, so by covering your laptop's vents in ensures clean air comes from. Second, it increases the airflow throughout the laptop, further preventing dust from settling. Lastly, irrespective of dust having colder airflow will cool down your CPU & GPU. We see significant temperature drops even on brand new laptops.
NEED YOUR HELP!!! Want to buy it, but I would like to know how effective this type of cooler would be using my laptop closed, like a docking station with an external monitor. Does it affect how it will dissipate hot air? It looks like alot of the air is pushed Through the keyboard, so make me think its not going to work very well

Effectively this is going against the IETS GT500/600. Would be interesting to see how 4 fans work versus 1 big one.

We have not, not yet at least but we'll monitor the feedbacks we got about this!

Hello,
The Turbofrost pushes cold air into the laptop from the bottom so if your laptop doesn't have air intakes there, it won't help to cool it
