Hey I think that pad is a thermal pad and supposed to be sticking on the ssd. I would check that. Otherwise the ssd can get too hot and get damaged I guess. :)
When they initially launched they did not have the orange colour either. They released orange after a while. Currently, pink isn’t available but it’s possible it’s in production 🙏🏾

Sadly mine is up against a wall so I don’t see the back very often. Maybe I should put a mirror behind it! Lol!
