In 2006 I moved to Mindanao Philippines, 4 original Xboxes, 4 big screen TVs, 16 controllers. We would go to the big open room in Halo 1 and rockets, 16 players!! Desert Storm series, Global Terror had either 4 way split screen, or individual 1 player system link We played the hell out of that Split screen co-op campaign with wife or kids, those halo games were such a huge part of our family, it's extremely painful what 343 did to the Halo series
After we moved into our first home in September 2020, November I had a 8 player Lan. Of course have to stay with my baby halo 2. I plan on having a massive halo 2 Lan at my house in the basement for Halo 2s 20 year anniversary next year. I'm talking people downstairs, upstairs. Just like in the Halo 2 collectors edition bonus disc. And just like how we used to have them
Man I would do anything to go back in time. I was in 2nd grade when halo 2 came out and man I played that thing every single day after school and every single weekend any chance I could get. Me and my brother had our 360’s in the basement of our old house and always played together online in the same room.
So glad I got to experience this era as a kid. I had so many halo 2 parties at my house growing up. Had 20 kids stuffed into two bedrooms right next to each other. Dominoes pizza, air soft guns, halo 2. Deadly combo for a bunch of rowdy teenagers. My parents dealt with a lot hahaha. Those days were awesome.
Man, it's like you're telling a story about the greatest time in my life, no worries, just a bunch of friends playing video games, sneaking out, skipping school. Not a worry in the world back then, all I wanted to do was to be better at BXR'ing than my friends lmao
We’re doing a pretty big LAN party this April. So bummed that Halo Infinite doesn’t do LAN on the Xbox Series X. We’re going with Halo MCC (and if that doesn’t work, I have a bunch of Halo 3 discs) since you can play offline LAN on Xbox. What a huge miss on Halo Infinite since it does feel really good to play. Thanks for the video and bringing my own nostalgic memories out.
Man I had to watch this again. So much nostalgia! Makes me wanna make a video and with my old Lan friends and competitive friends and talk about everything. Especially it being halo 2, then of course halo 3
Thanks a lot for taking the time to say this. As a small channel we don’t get the most hits, but knowing stuff like this resonates with people makes it all worth it.
I always watch old videos of things like this and just wish I would’ve got to experience it, I was born In 06 and I feel like I’ll never get to experience something with this much steez
You could. If you can get a few friends that want to also do it. And all get some 360's and a few games like Halo, Gears Of War etc..and then hook'em up and have fun! It's pretty great!
Even just a few years back, my son, my brother, my sister, our friend and I would do a weekly lan party. And order a bunch of Little Caesar's. And stay up super late playing back to back 50 waves of Gears Of War 3 horde mode. We still do it at times but, onlime together now. As my brother & sister moved out of state. Wish we still did the weekly local lan party
I feel I owe you my heartfelt thanks for this upload. You awakened some long dormant memories of just... great games, pizza, excited screams, raucous laughter, all the goofy deaths and kills, the memes that stayed within our circle etc etc. I didn't realise how much I'd forgotten, but it all came rushing back. Playing till the sun came up..parents pleading with us to keep the noise to a 'reasonable' level 😂. I never got to have the full LAN experience, but the 3 or 4 of us (depending who was around) ran custom games religiously in H1, then H2 and to a lesser degree in H3. Our drink of choice was "Hustler" - a cheap red bull knock off that probably gave us liver damage, but damn did it get you though the night. While I'm here, a fun fact - before I got my first Xbox and before our Toy's R Us put their Xbox/Halo display up, our first time playing Halo was in a local crack den/trap house. Like, the house had metal plates over the windows and doors and you had to crawl to get in, but the dudes in there were cool and let us kids play Halo so that was that 🤷♂😂. Anyway, you've inspired me. When things are better I'd so love to get the boys back together again and maybe even open the doors to the wider community and get a proper LAN going. Love you guys, my brothers in Halo. Thanks again
I'm really sorry we missed this comment, but holy cow am I glad I saw it now. This means a lot. We put a lot of effort into this video and as you can see, comparatively no one is watching it like our other content. LAN parties and gaming with friends full on pizza and energy drinks are memories we will never forget. Your first time playing Halo sounds crazy haha. Thank you for sharing and thank you for supporting us :)
The Xbox system link cable is a crossover cable, not the standard (At the time) Cat5. To use it for more than 2 systems your hub/switch would need to have auto-crossover detection.
Listening to guys makes me realize that me and my closest a friends did the same thing! I alone made everyone want and get an Xbox bc of halo! My best friend and I would dominate everyone 😂 and we live in apartments so everyone also wanted in and called next but we never lost 😂

Just had a massive 12 person lan last night. Was awesome and sooooo nostalgic
@@nashwalker7 dude that’s dope as hell!
Started up pc halo(original) lan with my son and mom, getting his friends into it. Got the capacity and equipment for at least a 4v4 match.

Hi can I ask if it works ? I have Halo 3 disk for my Xbox 360, and I have Xbox One with Halo Masterchief Collection digital, does LAN party works ?
@ MCC to older games didn’t crossplay. MCC can play with MCC and Halo 3 can play with Halo 3.
@@WheresWaldoProd oh okay good to know thanks !!

This hits home so hard and emotional. Thank you for making this! Makes me want to really want to do LAN parties and gatherings again.

Welp. Time for me to organize a 2024 lan party! It's been too long. Great video/editing as well!
Thanks so much for saying this. Those memories hit hard.
Honestly, I'd drive across the country to have a halo 2 LAN party with some random internet people I've never met.

The thing that caught me off guard was " got my own house"
Crazy.

I would love to do GOW3 LAN but it seems like LAN doesn't work between xbox series X and xbox 360 for some reason on that game
@@andree1991 true, it doesn't seem to unfortunately.
Gosh this takes me back. Talk about the good ol days
